Falkirk was a great place back in the 80s - no doubt it still is the Falkirk folk are awesome - Fishers the bakers coffee meranges - nothing will ever beat them
Brought back so many memories. Lived all my life in Falkirk district. The photo of Falkirk High School - I attended there from 1967-72 and these porto cabins were not in place at that location then. That tarmac area was used for playing football with a tennis ball every play time.
Went drinking there when I was just starting. Lived just down the road in Stenhousemuir .Fun but crazy times , Scottish parents , but I had an English accent , bit of a suicide mission but I survived .
Absolutely brilliant posting I remember a lot of this well and I much prefer the old Falkirk in its day I also remember the big guy with the huge mustache these were the days
one of the most social towns in the uk i born 1945 remember my parents taking me to the roxy theatre to watch the piano player creating a world record it was a pleasure to be a member of that community we lived 5 miles from the town centre but the town centre was the hub for social gatherings great spirited folk the falkirk bairns we would recognise it now sadly
Me too! The tune defo brings a tear to my eye. Probably because..sadly.. it's very apt. Falkirk is not the town it once was. It has changed alot over the past 15/20 years or so, and not for the better. Quite sad seeing all the pics of things that were great about the town that are no longer there or have changed since. Falkirk has had the heart and soul ripped out from it.
Brilliant video, from Tony's Mrs in Moscardini's, to Bible John RIP, him and his old mate outside the Tiger always getting lifted, The Tiger, biker days when I had a brand new Honda CBX750, Mima the owner came to my 18th in the Oxgang FFS!!
Aw bloody fan dabby dosey, took me back I can tell u, when the toon was always bustling and every wain has oan their best to go the the toon , thank u 😊
The rot set in with the destruction of the old town hall in the 1960’s. If the council and architects had shown more sympathy for historic Falkirk and more imagination in how to incorporate it. The place would not be the ghost town it is today. You must educate the population to appreciate what they have or its easily lost.

I am wondering what info you have of the pic of 4 women around 2min17secs into the vid? Think one of the women was a relation.
Reminds me of a pic i have of my mum and her workmates outside Dun and Wilsons Falkirk in the 50s - kinda made me think too
Good nae pictures of me doggin it fae woodlands lol
Some of these are not Fakirk but the Falkirk District. Big difference.
Nit picky
The tiger was the best booser
Ghost Town would have been a better choice of song.....

Denise Thacker That's because you are clearly an intolerant bigot.
