- I’ve finally started winning races in ACC, but can I now do it in Assetto Corsa?
Well, I’ve been gifted a setup for today’s Mazda MX-5 Cup race on Low Fuel Motorsport, and it has made a HUGE difference to my pace.
I came within 0.1 of achieving a 1.17 lap time here at Donington Park’s national circuit, and it’s put me on the second row of an ultra-competitive grid.
I’m starting in P3, however I don’t normally qualify this far up in Assetto Corsa LFM races. Can I turn this opportunity into a podium or, better yet, a race win? Let’s find out…

I love how you'll skip the uneventful parts of the race and use that time to show replays and highlights of other drivers. Fantastic editing that makes your videos so enjoyable!
Nice one, it’s the main thing I wanted to do when I started the channel. I know a lot of people don’t want to spend full 30 minutes watching the entire race, so I wanted to make a bite-size package that people can watch quickly, without feeling like they’ve missed out on anything 😃

Yeah, I was feeling a little frustrated from my earlier mistakes, but getting stuck into the battle helped me forget about all that and just enjoy it. Great fun!

Man I was laughing my ass off when you hit that kerb and had no reaction :)) and then when you took to the grass to dodge that guy. Marvelous, you're a funny guy, I loved watching this, I'm checking out more. I like your personality, your enthusiasm and the way you narrate the whole thing.
I had a sim for years and I just didn't want the hassle of racing online, I just raced with bots and did hotlaps and the AC Kunos challenges whenever I had the itch, but yesterday I sat down and figured out how to do it, found LFM and I'm having a blast myself in the MX5.
Holding my breath is becoming the norm watching your exciting races, don't do any longer races I might not survive 😅

Lots of fun in this series, Chris. As the saying goes, "The slower the car, the better the racing." I thought it was fixed set-up? You mentioned something about a set-up at the beginning of the video. What did you change?
Yeah, the Mazda series on AC/LFM is open setup. I’ve no idea what I changed😃 I just got shared a Donington setup file and saved it to my folder. I didn’t try any laps without the setup, so I have nothing to compare it too, but it’s VERY rare for me to be at the front in this series, particularly with the SoF fairly high. So I’m assuming the setup helped a lot!
was 1st for half a race here yesterday then the pressure got to much and made a few miss shifts, came in 4th.. but no im not giving up using the H shifter even if it gets tiring driving 1 handed lol.. gotta have that immersion especially as im in vr
H shifter is how they should be driven, people want a simulator then they use paddles, get it if people don't have one if you've got one use it we are trying to create real life
Yeah, sadly I don’t have a rig so have to settle for sim racing in a foldable chair at my work desk. It’s a bit of an immersion killer with the Mazdas, but nowhere near as bad as when I drive in Euro Truck Simulator with the paddle shifters 🤣

Too right mate. It’s nice to get the wins, of course it is, but I’d much rather have a proper full-on battle like this one!
Nice episode, im curious if youre replay and driving graphics are different because it looks dark compared to the replay(for example 8:48)
Yeah, that’s a downside of using Sol. It loads replays using different times of day (and different conditions) to the original race. So I have to fiddle about with the replay settings to get it brighter, but ultimately the sun will usually be in a different part of the sky and creates different shadows / shade patches than the live recording.
Too bad on the podium, but a great race nonetheless!
Yeah, I was just a touch slower than the front three, so even without the mistakes, I’d have probably followed them home in fourth. However, the path I ended up taking was far more entertaining 🤣

I like the way you don't loose heart after a mistake and battle on to find a new goal in a race, great attitude and this race really shows how it can pay off.😊
Yeah, it’s a good habit to get into… don’t get frustrated by the mistakes, and just set a new target to chase if you do drop back. Sometimes it even works out better… this final battle was way better than simply chasing the top three for the rest of the race!
