What I loved about Gary. He used to do use so many different techniques to embellish almost every note he played on flying turkey trot. It's an easy song to play but a very difficult song to play the way he played it.

I think that Gary should be continued his career as musician because he is and ever be and forever will be, the best lead guitar!!!!!!!, i can listen in my life!!!!!!
Gary Richrath was the sound of REO Speedwagon. I could close my eyes and hear only his guitar and think I was listening to REO here. Shame on Kevin for ruining a good thing. I'm glad Gary continued on playing the music he enjoyed after he left them.
I feel the same way. I think the R in R.E.O. was meant for and adopted by Gary! Often imitated, NEVER DUPLICATED. RIP Gary! Your musical sound will live forever.

I'm a huge Gary fan, but his life was spiraling out of control. I agree that Kevin was changing that band dramatically, but having experienced my share of working with addicts and alcoholics after 11 years as a probation officer, they become completely unmanageable. My heart breaks that Gary slid deeper into alcoholism and morbid obesity. I would have loved to see him reunite with REO
