Comb Coils
❈What do you use to wash your locs? How often?
African Black Soap/Twisted Sista Clarifying Shampoo, and I wash every 2/3 weeks+
❈Are your locs fake?
No. It is 100% my own hair that grew from my scalp
❈How often do you retwist? What do you use?
Every month or so, and I use Lily Of The Desert 99% Aloe Vera Gelly
❈How many locs do you have?
I have 74 locs, I have combined several over the years.

Watching this video made me realize that I was definitely neglecting my locs’ moisture and they love these products. I found the aloe Vera spray doesn’t smell that great but I like Wild growth scent enough and it’s masks it. So far so good! Thank you for sharing!

Hey Queen...Great vid..iove your locs...are you not afraid of your locs molding or mildewing when you spray them with the aloe vera spray and therefore covering them while they are wet?Thanks & blessings
I do the same thing. It’s sprayed lightly, just damp enough and not soaked, so little air can dry it. You don’t have to have a closed satin cap but an open tie head of the sort that’s breathable and allows for air to dry it while you sleep. But it should only be enough to moisturize it and not soak it.

how do you mask the smell of that wild growth oil? I used to use it but when my little sister said my hair smelled like mildew I was like oh hell nah I can't use this stuff anymore lol

Sungoddess19 Yeah it made my hair smell HORRIBLE. I assumed it just wasn't for me. Doesn't agree with my personal scent.
I added a few drops of peppermint oil to it; people kept saying my hair smelled like cinnamon, fall, or Christmas. I love the combo.

ok so i have starter locs .. getting my third retwist next month .. the stylist told me use lemon juice 2-3 times a week .. i always oil my scalp like every other day .. they feel dry aF & crunchy still .. so how can i moisturize my hair without using water (so my hair won’t puff up) i have a very kinky dry coiled hair texture
marie duuhh lemon juice is very drying and and when exposed to direct sunlight will lighten your hair🙈😨 Water is the only true moisturizer. Rosewater is great too. To prevent puffy roots, the key is to lightly mist your locs until only slightly damp not sopping wet and after u oil to be extra cautious, secure your hair in a taut style (eg. banded ponytails, twists, braids, etc) until your hair dries. I'm 2 years, 10 months in and this is what works for me. HTH😊

I've been growing my locs for 4 months now they seem to unravel and look super frizzy all of the time. I'm trying to stay encouraged but Idk if it's normal.
+Sunshine Dee unraveling and frizziness is VERY normal and a part of the loc journey. Be strong love, embrace that frizziness too. It will get better with time. My hair still unravels and I’m almost 6 years in. Lol it’s a constant thing for me, but it doesn’t bother me anymore.
Sunshine Dee its very, very normal. I'm a little over a year in, and I still have frizzy. But I absolutely LOVE it. Hang in there!!

Patty Phattty it's like my hair is shrinking and balling up forming this weird bump. I've contemplating starting over bc of it. Maybe I'll call them balls and not bumps 😂

Sounds like your hair is budding which is the first stage of locing and is very normal. With time (how long depends on your hair texture), the bumps/buds will smooth out or solidify into a generally cylindrical loc. Its a struggle sometimes but the loc journey is all about patience hun😊
