I've had mine for 4 years, without a doubt this truly is the most exciting bike I've ever owned out of all 60 and over 57 years of riding. I have the FZ07, a 1200 Thruxton, BMW F800R and NC700X. being old weight plays a major part in my choice of bikes. I liked the Street Triple, they did have an occasional problem but value for money, bang for the buck the 09 is hands down superb. I do not "mod" any of my bikes, experience has taught me to leave it as it can in the box. This bike is brilliant all around.
I got a Black Widow exhaust last year for my FZ09. I bought it directly off their website. Great exhaust and super cheap - whole system for the same cost as a slip on.
Your mods are awesome. You've turned "ordinary' looking bike into a great custom job. I have a mostly stock MT10 but have ridden an MT09. Both extreme fun bikes. Some have bagged the 09 for the things you have fixed. You've shown a good head doing this. Enjoyment doesn't only come with riding. Enjoying your bikes looks and making it your own is supercool. Nice job. Oh and the front cowl works for me.
i cant agree more out of every bike ive owned, my MT09 has been the most fun,i love it to bits added a rapid unit for the fueling and a shifter and its been insane.....great vid keep it up
Just bought mine 2 months ago as a starter bike. From what i have learned it truly is a monster. The bike is so aggresive and a ton of fun to ride but you need to know your limits and have a great amount of respect towards the bike. There is 3 riding modes A,STD and B (2016 mod) and i only ride in STD mode and plan on riding in this mode for a while. You can also use B mode as a Rain mode when roads are wet. As long as you do these steps and have the correct mindset you can start on this bike no problem.
You need a tune for that thing. Makes a world of difference. Also, you won’t risk burning up your valves with a lean air fuel mixture with that exhaust.
I put my MT09 up for sale a few months ago without much luck to sell, The only reason im selling is that I plan to move overseas. I ride my Dads 2000 BMW RT on occasion (and because backpacking with my gf is easier), however I will never get over the triple cyl sound. Termigoni best exhaust. Now Im thinking of just keeping it in the shed when Im back in the country. Mine has upgraded suspension when i bought it, and if I really wanted to throw more money at it, i would forsure invest in adjustable foot pegs, sportier handlebars and if i had some money laying around Id probably throw a deep space wrap on the tank. Great bike, great power. Nice video!
Wow. Love your FZ bro. Looks super nice. I just picked up a 2014 before winter and I love it so much. Only rode it for a few days and it’s been put away for snow reasons. Itching to take it out soon. 😅
Man, I’ve had my 2015 since 2015 and I will never sell it. I love the bike, it’s just hands down the most easiest and fun bike all around. I had a GSXR 750 before this fz and of course was great. But this bike sits up right and is enjoyable.
Good video, im thinking of getting a MT09 for my next bike..Only 1 thing i find wrong with this video friend is you never ride a bike in shorts or tee shirts, you might think you will never come off, But you never know what is around the next corner, even if you have been down that road a 1000 times.
Same bro. Your the perfect person to ask if I should get FZ-09. Because I have CBR 1000 right now and I'm not very sure if fz is that powerful for canyons and harder riding
@@chaytonthesatan fz09 will power wheelie in 1st and 2nd gear. I dont even ride it in A mode. If you plan to ride in canyons put it in B mode aka slow mode. A mode throttle response is abrupt, same goes for standard mode. Just for this fact cbr1000rr will be faster in canyons because that bike has smooth throttle response.

How did you get the mirror to clamp onto the handle bars there? I thought the handlebars are 22mm in diameter and bar-end clamps are 20mm inside diameter.
Nice looking FZ! I agree with a lot of your points but I have to disagree with you on the suspension and brakes. While the FZ was not designed to be a track machine you can still rip it stock, a lot of people dump thousands of dollars into it with the mindset to fix a inferior suspension and hardly ride their bike. Unless you drag knee on every corner I don't think the stock suspension is "trash" and needs thousands of dollars spent, it's very capable if you have experience. But hey to each their own! Ride safe
I don't know man. I purchased my bike already having aftermarket suspension on it and it has been a world of difference. I've also never been to a track day on it. But I have ridden quite a few stock FZ09's. I do not feel confident with taking that bike around twisty's at all. I've let many FZ09 owners ride mine and they agree with me as well. Also, you can swap zx6r suspension in yours for way cheaper, worth a look. Have a good one.

@@exothermal.sprocket I'll agree to disagree, I have also owned a lot of bikes over the years. Including a 14 FZ-09 for 3 years now. I'm not saying the bike has the best suspension out there. I'm looking to get into this bike as my first bike. I work at an HD dealership. So I'm around bikes.
They just now started calling them mt in the states in 2017 I think?
@@samnese7992 I think it started in 2018 Officially. But whatever the case, I'm ok with it. They're called MT all over the world so it's good. Sounds better to me anyways.
Okay I wasn't sure. Yeah I like MT as well
The MT stands for Master of Torque if you didn't know
@@Denim330 no I know now. Found out what MT meant.
Now the question is, which to get. 07-09.
The 07 seems like the one that would get the most use out of the 2. The 09 seems too powerful for its own good. Eventhough I could keep my throttle hand under control. I think the more fun one could possibly be the 07 since you can use more of its power and be relatively more safer.
Plus price out the door and insurance. Eventhough I'm 37.
I love the plate placement and we do this also over here but if you have it cops pull you over on a daily
Just wanna add to reliability factor I have 22k now and it's still pulling strong, I have a feeling that this bike will get to 50k, it runs amazing like brand new even at 20k
So far I have 58K miles on mine, bought it used. Runs great, 0 problems (Knock on wood)
Did you tune it when you put the exhuast?
Yes, the ECU is flashed
Bought my "used" 2017 FZ-09 in Aug,2018 and I have only put on 200 miles so far ! LOL
Where did you get that taillight?
Atze Peng TST industry
Link of the mirrors?

Planning to pick me up a Mt07 next month! Can't wait. Then I'll pick up a r6 in a couple years then a Mt09.. maybe a used fz09 that's modded already. I see where your coming from on that. I just want to mod put my mt07 myself.
Ride Safe Keep Braapppin!
Did you end up getting the MT07?
Good video I’m going to get one fz09
I don't care what anyone says about the mt07 .I personally think it's one of the fastest under 1 litre bikes ever made. Period .
Don't you mean MT 09?
Nice bike 😍
Anyone done the digital guard dawg electronic ignition mod
Great video dude, tons of really important info. I had a STR but want a bit more power,i had my eye on the mt for a while, i will have to budget for the mods or get the SP model. Is the engine as smooth in feel as the Triumph?
6 years later im about to buy a 2014 fz 09 for $5200 9k miles feel im finding a steal
What would be a good first bike?
FZ07
@@ShakeNBlake509 I'm quite a big bloke think I would look stupid on it!!?
Luap 1983 it’s a pretty small bike but so is the mt09. If you have some experience riding, I’d say go for the mt09. With no experience I would start on the mt07
Great video if people want the black widow exhaust go to their website and order they are UK based and they may do shipping
i got mine in a week and it came from uk to ny.
