Hall of Fame pitcher and Minnesota Twins color commentator Bert Blyleven says the F word twice on live television during Fox Sports North's pregame show of the Minnesota Twins at New York Yankees on September 3, 2006. Bert was suspended from broadcasting for two games as a result - but it was one of the greatest moments in Minnesota Twins broadcasting history!

I remember watching a game around 2005 maybe, where it was clear that Dick was in the booth alone, as Bert hadn't chimed in for a while, then there was a broadcast interruption, and my dad said "I bet Bert tripped over a cord". When they came back live, Dick said something to the effect that Bert had indeed tripped over the cord of some broadcasting equipment. He was such a goofball.

Not to condone profanity on live national TV, but those of you who say "how could he not know he was live?' just know that it's a trillion times easier than you may think. The "production company" rarely does what they're supposed to! On air talent can only do so much when they aren't given proper info.

I met Bert many years ago at a Red Sox fantasy camp. His former manager, Ralph Houk said that he could get anyone out with his curve. He also said that Bert could pass gas any time that he wished & that was funny. He loved Bert.
