Nah, I press L, up on analogue and up on c-stick to do my Up Airs. Look up "Double Sticking" on TH-cam find out more about that method. I don't use Tap Jump for it.
As for the perfect pivot Down Smash: Smash Stick or Tilt Stick? I prefer the latter with basically every character I play (maybe except ZSS for Down Smashes)
I use entirely Tilt stick so I input the Down Smash manually. It is a bit more awkward to do and I don't think it's possible to do frame perfect as a result but it's doable!

auto cancelling means to give an aerial a certain amount of time after the endlag of the move before landing to essentially remove all landing lag you would get from said move.
When you're going for the side tilt locks, I noticed you're going for the low angled version. Would you say this is the best option? Because in the heat of the moment I find myself usually inputting the mid angled version and it sometimes sends the opponent too far away. Would the low angled one make a difference?
I choose low angled cuz it actually does 1% more than regularly angled. Up angled does the most at 8% but normally sends them too far away or doesn't hit. Low angled will send them further than mid angle too so that won't help your problem. Some characters have really high traction and thus go too far from FTilts. You have to either perfect pivot between each FTilt or just lock with one then do a combo of some sort.
Dair lock doesn't work on landing (except against ROB for some reason) so you can't use it for the same purpose as FTilt. I think it stops locking well past 100 though so you can do it on platforms for pretty much the whole stock.
Landing Dair to Up Smash is a kill confirm, yes. If you land like at their very edge and they DI away, it may not combo but it should always work - if you think they're going to have the chance to tech before you can Up Smash, you can tech chase pretty well with it too

why does foxes down air make me think of kirby's down air?
