Funny timing on your response- I just backed the Haggis/TRICKTAKERs project (an inevitability, but still), watched a bunch of your older videos today (again), and did a lot of digging into finding some more of the less available games! Schadenfreude will probably be my next purchase, but there are so many more I want 😂😭 Just wait for quiz two
Awesome! Literally can't believe I won! Thank you so much, Taylor and Tricky Imports! Love everything you guys are doing. I didn't even consider being thematic with the movie choice, which I guess tracks with loving usually themeless trick-taking games. I've really been enjoying Ptolemy so far, but my wife and I don't really read it as a climbing game. I get why it's categorized that way, but it feels like a different mechanic entirely, though I did describe it as must-not-follow when I was teaching it. The production is kind of lacking as well with the thinness of the cards and the mat, but I get that it's very independently made. I do think it's really interesting, but I haven't really been able to get a good strategy going. It's surprisingly hard to get your head around, at least for me. As is, it's a clever design, and a really nice, quick, fun experience, though I don't love how often you get into a situation where it feels a bit automated. Looking forward to trying Hipparchus also from Geonil when that comes in. Jekyll vs Hyde is one of my all-timers (and actually has great theme), so I'm pretty much on board with trying anything they design.
Yesssss Congrats againnnnn!!! Hope the game landed well and you've gotten some plays of it in!!! And I love the pitching of 'must-not-follow' as that feels super close to what the game plays like. Thanks so much for the kind words too!! And I'm with you; I'm super jazzed for Hipparchus!!
Ptolemy looks fun. Weirdly reminds me of masked men, which my crew loves. Also, I won Kings Trick Takers! 🎉 So excited. Kings is the game that all of my kids agreed they wanted to win most of every give away that you've done so far. It will get a lot of play.
Just picked this up and played a test hand against myself. It was surprisingly easy to play cards that were impossible to follow-only 2 of the first 12 cycles made it to a second card, and none to a third
Ptolemy is one of those words that was given an extra letter - the P - just to confuse people and have our friends laugh at us. You're right, ignore the P and just say to-luh-me, and you won't be far wrong. I really love Jekyll Vs Hyde, so was pretty sure this one was gonna be a big hit with me too. However... I don't know about Ptolemy, I'm struggling to see the point behind it. Maybe I need to watch your video again? But speaking about your video, great job as always, while I mightn't be totally convinced about this game, it certainly isn't the fault of the explanation.
Thanks so much WarriorKing!! Always such a great time reading your comments! And I hope this lives up to j+hyde with more plays! I think the theme is unique for sure, but the planets moving seems to be the only link
Great review! I'm still on the fence myself over which ruleset I like more: basic or advanced. Perhaps, I cannot make up my mind because the game is light and I don't feel a big difference either way?
Oh interesting!! I just saw Geonil's tweet about the adv rules and I'm super interested! The rules I had didn't have those adv rules yet, so I'm curious. Sounds like you like both!
We shuffle the same!
Thanks for the words about our podcast- it was a great time, and I hope your viewers enjoy it too.
Hahaa that's awesome, Ryan! Shuffle solidarity!! Thanks so much for the wonderful quiz and podcast!! It was amazing!!

Yeah I'm hoping the new adv variant is interesting in this regard

Good video
Thanks so much, Camille!!! 😀
Hey taylor, can I request that you cover the new Jekyll vs Hyde game? It has decent buzz in bgg and I'm curious about the changes from the original
You bet!! I'll have a video out tomorrow on it! Thanks for the recommendation!!
Will you cover Cat Blues in a review?
I love Knizia so I'll totally look into it! It says it isn't trick-taking, but we'll see! Cheers for the rec!
What was the 2nd game of the giveway?
Oh sorry! It was Uchronicle! I forgot to pick it up! We have a video of it just a bit back.
