The Pale Emperor is the ninth studio album by American rock band Marilyn Manson. It was released on January 15, 2015 through Marilyn Manson's own Hell, etc. label, with distribution handled in the US by Loma Vista Recordings, Canada by Dine Alone Records, Japan by Victor Entertainment and internationally by Cooking Vinyl.
It is the first release since his return in 2008 to not feature writing and performance contributions from Twiggy. The album is dedicated to Manson's mother, who died during production of the album after an eight year battle with Alzheimer's disease and dementia. - เพลง

+ZarathustraDK I think this is the best album he's done since Antichrist Superstar, and in a lot of ways it's just plain a better album than AS. I'll always love the rawness of that album though. I think it's funny how his style has evolved so much and came to such a different sound, but it's still undeniably MM.
I hate to disagree. He looks fat and unhealthy now.
I was never a big Manson fan. Not that I had anything against him or disliked his work, but most of his stuff just wasn't really my cup of tea outside of a couple of songs.
But this album, damn. This is seriously good shit. I like mature Brian.
WindmillStalker I was a similar situation, but I'd add Mechanical Animals into the mix as well. That album was amazing and also had some cool spacey-ambience going on beneath rocking riffs.

+Ibn Sina +Ibn Sina You'll see, as a Manson fan myself, I think that The Old Testament (Antichrist Superstar, Mechanical Animals, Holy Wood (In The Shadow Of The Valley Of Dead)), was Manson just playing around and fantasizing with the concept of the Antichrist Superstar. He was doing it through metaphores and characters, while The New Testament (The Higher End Of Low, Born Villain, The Pale Emperor) is actually Manson himself as the Antichrist Superstar. Having a more personal approach, I do think that this is darker, since it's not a character anymore.
It might be more subtle, but darker and deeper nonetheless.
I really think you should look into their older stuff to be able to full appreciate their more mature work.
Exactly my feeling. I like some random MM tracks but this album is absolutely brilliant. A collection of confessional and tortured songs for mature audiences. And I love the arrangements too. What an ambience!

killing strangers is one of those songs that will bypass most people, until its used in a big scene in big tv show, then straight away every video of that song will have lots of comments saying the name of the show it was featured on, with a ridiculous amount of upvotes. great song.

Albin Jonasson to be honest i hadnt realised the album was that old. i havn't listened to marilyn manson in years, just getting back into this style. i had no clue the song was allready well known! i'm very much out of the loop with modern music.

Oh my goodness, thank you Jakuf for not deleting that post. I woke up this morning thinking I had put this in a blog, which I'm going to do now, because that was one of the weirdest experiences. I was searching for where I had put this. Interestingly enough its in the Pale Emperor album. While I was writing, interference occurred. I could feel the energy, some invisible thing around, but I couldn't tell who it was or where it was coming from...and there's a lot of thought I need to do about what occurred, so I'm taking this into my blog. Killing Strangers and Warship My Wreck deserve a music video. This album it's awesome. Not are hard songs,but this sound are simply incredible. Deep Six,3 Day of a Seven Day Binge,The Mephistopheles of LA,Warship My Wreck,Killing Strangers,Slave Only Dreams To Be King are awesome songs. I'm be a fan of Manson for this album. The Pale Emperor the best commercial album ever for me.

I had not heard of this album until it popped up as recommended in my YT list. I have not listened to it yet but the picture, his look, and the name reminds me of David Bowie's character called "The Thin White Duke." I will have to give this a listen.

I used to like a few of their songs but was kinda turned off by their appearance when I didnt know what they were about, heck I still dont but after seeing interviews of Marilyn, damn dude is real intelligent and has a great attitude, someone I would get along with very well. One of the best voices in rock in modern times, this album sounds damn good!

However, this isn't AS 2, but maybe Mechanical Animals 2. Best Manson since 90's. Manson you old geezer, you did it. You came back!

Holy shit this album is GOOD. I was the biggest Marilyn Manson fan when i was 13 - edgy teen and all that - now i'm 22 and really just listen to his songs out of nostalgia. Eat me Drink me and Born Villain were really bad albums but i gotta say: This fucking rocks. Young adult me will definitively listen to it even without the nostalgia.
