Very enjoyable battle report. I like this game a lot. It’s a perfect entry for anyone unknown with miniatures wargaming. Easy to learn and just a few models per side needed. Highly recommended!
Great board and minis as always. I feel your wife may have been able introduce some Adam and the Ants references though 🤣. I really can’t make my mind up about this game. I want to like it because I like the figures and love the period it’s just that the game doesn’t really scream Samurai / Bushido to me, more like a bunch of thugs having a scrap in a village. Friend of mine has hundreds of Samurai and is looking at Pike and Shot but I’m not sure that appeals either. Others have suggested Clash of Katanas but the reviews aren’t great. I think there’s also another Osprey game. Def need a game to get some Samurai action though, and Mariko-sama (and an exact 3d print of Anna Sawai LOL), just not sure this is hitting the mark 🤔
Haha I know what you mean, I'll have to try and make it more "elegant" rather than a scrap in a road. I've seen some people using pike and shotte which looked good, not really seen much of COK 👍
@@7thson726 To be fair, it’s not your terrain. Your terrain is exceptional as usual. It’s the rules for me, the character special rules and overall rules just don’t really give it much of a samurai / Bushido feel IMO despite all the Japanese style on the cards and in the book. The combat rules I found really uninteresting, mostly just an extra dice. Very bland for me.
I LOVE the scenery you guys have, really top notch stuff. Are those village homes from any particular kits, or are they scratch built? If so, you ever think about dropping terrain tutorials once in a while?
Hi there, so the buildings are from Oshiro Terrain while the walls are from Blotz MDF kits, the trees are all home made. I have thought about possibly doing a video where I set up a board for a game showing how I do it, using the scatter and such, but wasn't sure if it would be that interesting 🤔
@@7thson726That would be awesome. These videos have been helping with my interest in wanting to get the game as of late. It was funny going from your 2nd video saying you hope to not wait too long to play again, to watching this one a few years later haha
