I consider myself Goth but until a certain time my mother made sure that I wouldn't buy or wear a certain type of more Gothic looking clothes. She hated me being dark and all that. Even my beloved dark liner was a huge problem. So now that I can buy and wear whatever I want I'm slowly buying a new Goth closet.

I live in Greece, 50euros is kind of expensive for many people here too, but it's 50 for the entire outfit, imagine how many combination you can do!
It is kind of expensive for me too, but I think that people with decent jobs can afford it in most countries...Plus we have to consider that good quality clothes, made by well-paid employees, need to cost more the 15euros or something:P
That's why when you do not have money to spend, second hand stores etc is your best friend ^-^

lots of the time accessorizing will make a big difference as well! Some gothy jewelry (that you can find pretty cheap as well), styling your hair and makeup and voila!

My main problem is always the clothing and shoe sizes. I'm a very petite girl (4'7 and half) and my shoe size is US 4, in other words practically a kid's size. I always try to find clothes and shoes online and they always run really big but never find gothic shoes/clothes for petite girls and I have noticed that a lot, especially with shoes. But little by little I managed to get some clothing, the problem are the shoes, especially since I want goth boots but can never find them my size. ;w;' But thank you for the video, it is very helpful and you look super pretty in all of those outfits as always~
Asian stores are your savior! Their sizes often run super small, and shoes also fit like 2 sizes smaller..!

My shoe size is in between 4 and 5 (depends on the shoe) and I tend to shop in the kids' section for shoes, sometimes you can find some really nice things there (nicer than the adult section). Can't really help you with goth boots but I have found some nice combat boots with buckles in the kids' section of a large local chain store so they were really cheap.
Unfortunately I'm quite short but overweight and have pretty large wrists and ankles (due to bones, not fat there) so I have both the small shoe problem and I usually find the cheap clothing isn't made wide enough or just fits wrong, so I can't really help with that part..

I can't afford to spend more than £15 on shoes and I never spend more than £10 on an item of clothing but normally only under £5 for tops too.
But I still manage it! Thrift stores, ebay, discount stores and primark are my best friends.
I guess some people can but I'm disabled and can't work!

Great outfits and looks very affordable, I wish we had Shein in the USA! I see some great outfits people put together from there.
This was so helpful! I'm young and therefore live with my family, and I really don't want to be a strain financially when just getting clothes. I had considered the thrift shopping briefly, but seeing as you are a very cool goth person and you do that too, I'm more confident in myself and I'll definitely start going thrift shopping with my sister more!
Shein is a terrible shop. Some of the clothes are terrible quality and come in the wrong sizes.
All sites like romwe, shein, rosegal are pretty crap tbh. I know I'm preaching to the converted here 😂 but the fast fashion industry is also contributing heavily to pollution AND the workers in their factories aren't paid a living wage and hence get locked in a cycle of poverty. Much more ethical to go thrifting if you're on a budget. 😌 it's not easy to go green and buy from sustainable clothing sites but at least you know your clothing will last!
Thrifting really is the best option if you wanna do something small to help save the planet. 😁

I think I was complaining about this in the comments for another video but I don't understand why some brands are so expensive. I get if it's made from fancy ass material with lace and lots of detail and stuff, I would pay more for that. But then I go on Killstar's website and it's like 30 euros for a basic tshirt. WHY!!?!?!?!?! D:

If you pay $1 for a shirt, chances are the sweatshop worker who made it isn't getting payed a reasonable ammount, since everyone on the way wants to make a profit. If you buy from a company who makes their clothes somewhere like the US and they pay them a reasonable ammount for it, you'll have to pay more because, again, everyone wants to make a profit.
That's all good and well, but in my country believe it or not there are a surprising amount of people that can live on $1 a day, not comfortably perhaps, but they do. I know it sounds bad but essentially you're saying I should supporting people who are more well off than I am in the name of being socially responsible. On top of that, most of the time I have to pay exorbitant amounts for shipping if I want a brand, on top of the already exorbitant prices, at least for me, and yes I do have a job and it's not a student job either. Look first at the inequality among countries before the prices of products. Expenses and quality of life is different among countries and indeed even people in remote regions of the developed world too live on a lot less than what you think is the standard.

I see all these videos being made about being gothic is expensive ?!?! It’s kinda annoying to keep hearing . It’s as expensive as dressing any other way .... just pick black colors. I get my basics at Walmart ... I find tee, tanks and sweaters for 2-10$ and then shop sales on gothic websites like killstar and they do after pay so u can spend $100 and pay over two months !! It’s not expensive just be smart with money ... No one knows where u buy your stuff from or cares... Nice video. I tend to just wear a plain pair of black pants, sometimes with a skirt over it and just a nice top, often with lace of some sort, and then just add some jewelry to that. I am pretty big though so my clothing tend to cost a bit unfortunately.

for people in the US i highly recomend forever 21 and tjmaxx for cool clothes that dont cost a butt load, f21 is esspecially great for alternative clothes for all sorts of styles esspecially cutsey urban looks but ive seen some uber gothy stuff there tjmaxx is great for everyday clothes youll wear for many years depends on the brand but i built my goth wardrobe from the ground up at tjmaxx then i sprinkled in some other brand statement peices. pro tip for beginers, just buy basic black clothes you like and silver gothy jewelry, chokers are everywhere you can get all kinds for cheap. and buy lots of different tights and have some for ripping up and some to keep hole free. as for shoes i have 1 pair of demonias i dont wear very much because i feel too extra n my feet get tired so if your like me op for pointy flat shoes and ankle boots for that winklepicker look or combat boots which are a fairly common style in regular stores. flats and ankle boots are especially great if you live in the southern US wheres its too hot 60% of the time to wear cool boots
fifty euro,,,,,, that tells me the most about the level of privilege we are dealing with. A good sale for me is about 20 for a pair of pants and a shirt. When I was younger I would get 100 dollars to shop for my clothes for the season.

I love the whole goth look but I don't see myself wanting to put all the effort into it. It's easier to throw a bunch of random shit together i think. Idk i feel like the way i dress is more punk and a tad bit grungey. But I do enjoy dressing really girly and having a rather dark side to it. Lol.

Just eat less carbs and instead take more fruits and vegetables. Make sure to walk at least 30 minutes a day. Very general advices but I guess it can only work if you do it well.

I have that same lace dress from Shein! I cut a triangle down the center front just under the waist band so that it can fall open and be more interesting.

i know this was ages ago but you could just pin/sew a piece of black material across the back.. so that it would be ok for school but (if you pin it) it can still have the low back for weekends or after school! :)
