I love this deck so unreasonably much. I've seen it a couple times in Magic Aids and Jim Davis videos iirc, but haven't actually watched someone play it for a league. I can't really describe why I like it so much other than it's just so... Magic-y.
Play remand, it’s very good in this list, u return the card u cascade to your hand repeating the cascade trigger, it makes the deck much more viable and tempo
probably trying to play around cryptic tap/removal on cloudshredder + wrath, but he was so far behind that he probably should just go for it. He was playing safe.
@@THECOLLECTOROFSOULS yeah Seth beat himself against control a lot. Sometimes it helps him grind them out but that's what they want you to do. I personally force them to have it every turn and if they do they do if they don't they don't.
I don't really play magic anymore. But I've been waiting - WAITING - for so long for someone to use sorin as a show and tell, because seriously, he's a show and tell if you can make the payoff a vampire. And finally, seth did it. I can die happy.

I know explosives is almost always better, but ratchet bomb does play nicer with cascade in the deck. Also, the deck has enough land, I could weep with joy.
Am I crazy or is Gemstone Caverns not a land? Seth draws a land and says "If we had drawn a land we were good, but we did not draw the land" and then scoops. I'm really not trying to be that guy, but I'm confused, am I missing something here?
@@taiaoki I rewatched it like 4 times because I was so confused...lmao He already had black so it didn't matter that it was colorless. I was pretty tipsy watching it late at night so I thought maybe I was just being stupid since I scrolled through the comments and not a single person commented on it when I always used to see people complain when he would scoop during moments when he had 0 outs left but not here.
I don't know what Seth was saying there, but he needed both morophon and first sliver. What he needed was a land that could tap for two mana so he could both summ pact and wishclaw
I was just looking at this deck thinking “wtf why are people using this combo”, yet part of me really wants to build it….. I’m so torn to go towards this or towards an aggressive sliver build.
I may be missing something but I wonder what the thought process is behind not dumping your hand into play after killing Teferi at 43:20 while their shields are down? Obviously combat had already happened so you couldn't win on the spot but could build up lethal for next turn and cascade into tutors for one or more backup Hivelords to beat bounce/exile into wrath.
No idea what I'd replace, or if it'd go in the main or board, but a copy or two of Dregscape Sliver gives you a sliver-based route to reanimate a combo piece it it gets blown up/milled.
I love the deck, but I prefer a slight variant that also plays dredgescape sliver and cathartic reunion. It's less all-in on the sorin plan, but can win t4 by unearthing morophon. It also has more 2-mana slivers for more cascade into tutors !
We couldn't get it with Search for Glory because it only finds legends/snow/sagas and then by the time we hit Profane Tutor/Grim Tutor we didn't have enough mana to cast it anyway.
@@MTGGoldfish gotcha. I meant at the end when you didn't have the mana after PT to cast it, but could win the next turn with the hard cast. Super fun deck
This is probably my favorite deck, so I'm so excited to see this vid. I'm curious to see how multiple first slivers and the summoner's pacts perform. In the sideboard, I like to pack silver bullet creatures that can be searched for with eladamri's call. Also, I've been messing around with playing 4x birds of paradise for ramp and color fixing. Also, I really like oath of nissa and Board the Weatherlight. But I'm only playing 1 first sliver. First sliver makes profane tutor better

I usually just try to order the matched so we start with an interesting one that shows off what the deck is trying to do, so it's not really a matter of needing to play a bunch of matches, just choosing the order they go in. I think the actual first match I played with the deck was the one against Jund Death's Shadow, but I don't remember for sure.
I honestly would like to see two separate modern formats at this point. Modern horizons block constructed isn’t a bad format by any means, but I miss the modern that only had standard sets in it.
This deck is really sweet but I feel like at its core it's flawed. you said the plan isn't to hardcast slivers but your manabase says otherwise. If you really don't want to cast your slivers you could focus your mana pool more to black. maybe add some smaller slivers and cut some tutors, not all but some.
That scoop to 3 mana T3feri was reasonable. My only answer that I’ve found that works is Abrupt decay. Last week i through in my side an extra cavern, 4 veil of summers, 3 duress and a vexing shusher since I got so many control players in my LGS, and those cards don’t beat a turn 3 T3feri on the play :((

You will draw at least 3 lands within your first 3 turns 95.9% with 23 lands. You got very unlucky. Sideboarding on the draw, you should probably be siding out 1 land when trying to squeeze in combo pieces. On the play, you don't have such a luxury, but you I think you could probably start siding out lands on the draw, especially in these tight combo decks.
I like seeing Ad Nauseam deck being totally obliterated here. I hate the kind of deck who is just selfishly combo-ing and ignores interaction almost entirely, next to the level of Tron deck.
