Having pulled up a spreadsheet to try and figure out the optimal crafting myself, I managed to get to 24 unique items crafted so Owen having gotten 23 whilst being attacked by Scott is pretty impressive.

The highest score I could get for task 3 was 25 by replacing Owen’s loom and bucket for a fence gate, 6 wooden slabs, an iron pressure plate and a bow. This strategy leaves 1 slime, 1 string, 1 redstone dust and 1 iron ingot left over.
I love this series so much, scotts puzzles are always so interesting and tho i never feel smart in them, boy does that make the ccs that more relatable xD
Oh, for Task 3 the items just have to be unique to yourself. I thought they had to be unique among the group - that is items no one else thought of crafting.
