@@sandrakostic5998 There really was a boyfriend and they remained friends after the breakup. However, after the movie came out he tried to extort money from Universal along with Erin's first ex-husband.

I loved this last moment so much because it is critically important to remember. Most heroes out there (which Erin definitely was) have someone behind the scenes doing things that may not be "technically" involved with whatever is going on, but allow the person the ability to do what they do. He is perfectly human for feeling neglected and like he was on the back burner with her. It's understandable that he felt like a glorified babysitter. But when you are in a relationship with someone who does what she does, this is what you are actually helping with. He wasn't involved with the legal end, but without him, this outcome DOES NOT HAPPEN. She is a wonderful for SHOWING him rather than telling him. Great film, great acting.

I LOVE her little smile after her speech. This is her best movie. Not one doubt. Superb acting. Not just by Julia. Everyone was so completely convincing as the real people.
I loved this movie. Albert Finney was so great in this, the scenes where he and Julia interact are the best. Albert should have got an Oscar for this great performance.
The end result is beautiful but personal tragedy caused by a multimillion dollar corporation is not. You have to wonder how many other victims of similar circumstances did not get their 'happy ending'.
The hug was so heart-warming and heart-breaking at the same time. This family went through hxll and so did the neighbors. So glad she was there to help them. This is a true story and Julia Roberts is awesome in this role.
This scene gets me in the feels every time. Especially when she tells him I want you to see what you help do. Because she recognizes the love and sacrifice for her and her kids that he put up with and knowing that in the end theirs reward. Such a powerful scene.
"It's a good day." My sister used to say that. Then it became "It's been a good couple of hours." Then she couldn't stop crying. That went on for twelve years. Never seen someone who could laugh while bawling her eyes out. That was my sis Gena. Cancer sucks.
Absolutely. That's my second favorite scene, where Erin is trying to convince her that PG&E did her wrong. The Marg Helgenberger character resists Erin's suggestion and defends PG&E. "They paid all our medical bills", "They met with us and told us that Chromium 6 was good", "...." Then she suddenly gestalts that she and her family have been had and she looks out the back window and sees her two daughters in the pool and shouts (very loudly) something like, "You kids - get out of the pool right now!" Another great display of character arc. - Great writing and great acting. What a great movie!
George’s smile when it suddenly hits him how Erin’s work and sacrifices mean to just that one family to have a good life, let alone all the others who got compensation because of one woman’s hard work and commitment to giving families hope. George knew that his sacrifice to help is what made it possible for most of those families to get millions in compensation and he knows no matter how hard it was it was worth it just to see that one woman’s joy and shock at what she got.

This is just a wonderful wonderful movie. I watch it every once in a while just to remind myself what can be done if you work really hard. I admire Erin Brockovich so much and I really enjoying the new TV show called Rebel that is based on her and I think she’s an executive producer of it. She’s quite the woman. And Julia Roberts played her to perfection.
My favorite scene of Erin Brockovich is when she's on the couch and her biker boyfriend is in the process of going to get breakfast with the kids. Erin's son, previously annoyed with her, is reading one of her client's claims and she says something like, "Please, don't play with that - it's taken me a while to get those sorted." Then she's taken back when he asks about the little girl in the claim. Erin does a 180 and says something like, "She's about your age and she has cancer - she's one of the people I'm trying to help." He stands up as he gingerly puts the claim back in its pile. Then when he gets to the door, surprising her with a display of empathy and consideration, he turns to her and asks, "Do you want me to bring you anything back - maybe eggs?" And then Erin gets overwhelmed due to his consideration and says, "Yes, eggs would be great." And he leaves. Then with a tear of joy, she collects herself - having seen her son arc from a selfish twit to having become a caring young gentleman. Now that's great writing, great directing (Steven Soderbergh), and great acting from Erin and the boy. What a wonderful scene. (There were a lot of great scenes.)
A selfish twit? He was a fatherless little kid whose mother suddenly started working 20 hours a day and left him with random people with no explanation. How altruistic do you expect an 8 year old to be? 🤦♀️

Then years later my mom was diagnosed with cancer and had to have a double mastectomy, then it spread, my sister and looked after her until it killed her. So well played by Julia Roberts and my hat's off to the real
Erin Brockovich for how she helped these people.
Albert nailed his part of this scene too.
This was within the high time of cinema.
Lol, let me guess, you're at least in your 30s, possibly even late 30s or early 40s. You see where I'm getting at with this?
@@flybeep1661 I'm 50 and I do not see where you are getting with this
Yeah they don't have A plus actors now like they did in the 90s and early 2000's.
@@flybeep1661 lol, let me guess, you’re at least 12, possible even late teens or early 20’s. You see where I’m getting at with this?
Ed Really couldn't hold it in you could hear him in the background during that silence
Would be Julia’s best ever performance of her career! 👏
Sleeping with the Enemy was a great performance, too!!
There are so many little towns in the Calif desert that no one ever writes about or cares about. But in this unforgettable movie it tells the story of when someone did care... a lot.
So glad they were able to get those people all that money. But they would’ve been a lot better if PG&E had just left them and their fucking water alone.
Amen!
Peter Coyote's face, then his little stuttering mumble. Lol.
Albert Finney, what a doll he was. R.i.P.
Every time I see this scene I can't stop laughing. All those favors. Tired indeed. 😅😂😂😂😂😂
Always makes me cry that scene...The damage those mongrel corporations do!
PG&E is still in operation and worth over 100 Billion dollars.
And the movie is far from fact and has been definitely dramatized. The cancer rate in hinkley has been proven to be lower than average.
@@TheMercyTrials I never did that. I simply stated facts that the movie misrepresents actual events. Google the events and read through case studies and news studies and you'll see. I never mentioned anything regarding the suffering of people so I have no idea where that statement came from.
I love how redhead looked like she was considering stepping her game up lol
This is where the math doesn’t make sense to me because many of these people have kids. $333-million divided 634 ways (signatures) is $525,236 each. Not counting the 40% commission the law firm gets from the deal/settlement
1.1 million in todays money and things were still reasonably priced back then
Her boss hated her at first but now he loves her she proved her worth
Do not know about the reality but according to the movie he was always generous from the beginning. Her recruitment, The advance check from his pocket. Of course, he always was doubtful. But that's how professionals are.
She was with him And his family when Ed passed away. So I would say she was family to them.
I’d really love to hear the conversation after Erin said she was really quite tired. They have to have been quite stunned and full of praise. There was nowhere else to go
I loved this one so watching again today
4 minutes and 21 seconds,. The very best part of this movie.
Back then movies were truly great.
I agree
I think some movies today are still good but the thing is we have social media now so suddenly people in the internet are film critics and those who aren't get discourage to watch those good movies because some "experts" calls it bad.
@@kusuma2664 no. the movies are actually bad. Has nothing to do with social media. The movie in question told a story. Today, all we get is propaganda trash.
This movie pure gold, I could watch it thousands times
George’s smile at the end is the best part of the whole movie.
Every single part or person was BEYOND BEAUTIFUL
What a actress. But the lady who really did this for those folks should be honered.given the highest award there is all good deeds should be rewarded. To go that extra mile against big bullies. Loaded wow 👏😍
One of the greatest scenes ever, and all the better because it actually happened.
I have always liked Marg Helgenberger - she is a fine actress.
Marge Helgenberger was also in Species and she was great in this.
Absolutely. She was magnificent in this movie. Broke my heart and made me cry like a baby !
She is a fine actress.
So many best scenes!!
The smile on the guy after Erin says 'it's over now' says it all.
So many great parts in this movie. This might be the best one. This movie is still a topic in the present, sadly enough.
You can hear Ed laughing all the way to the end of the scene 😂
I love it when he plays along and offers her a chair after saying she was quite tired!
Honestly one of the most beautiful Movies ever and also most disturbing. Corporate crime enough said.
How is it I’ve seen this scene a dozen times and I cry every single time
If someone could do it, it's Julia Roberts.
This is one of my favorite scene's in Erin Brockovich. Truely a favorite
Movie/video. L.M.A.O.
