    I have this same one and if you use the heavy setting it will fill up altogether three times so basically you get a extra rinse. I never realized this till one day I happened to turn the water off after it was done filling for the rinse and it beeped telling me it had no water so i turned on the water and it definitely filled once more to my surprise.

    Thanks so much for this! I have wanted to cloth diaper my baby since she was born but do not have laundry hook ups and will not wash my babys clothes at the laundry mat (my mom does her clothes, also not saying anything is wrong with washing your babies clothes at the laundry mat just at the one available to me lol). Unfortunately we have been using disposables since she was born as I have been actively looking for an affordable apartment washer. Luckily I found one on Craigslist and it happened to be this one so we took the plunge praying it would be sufficient for CD! Well it might be dfferent as mine does not have a see through lid and the button panel is a little different but Im sure its the about the same. I have been looking for ideas for a wash routine but have only come across ones for regular washers and am so happy I found your video. Sometimes my common sense goes through the window! I have been sitting and staring at this thing since we got it wondering how the heck I was going to control the water temp as It does not have an option for it. Well DUHH you have complete control over what faucet you turn on. Yea im an idiot! I was already excited to begin this journey but now im even more excited as I have a bit more confidence in washing them!!!!

    I used a cable tie to connect both hoses together. That solved the problem of drainage hose jumping out the sink.

  • @s.strickland75
    @s.strickland75 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I mounted the drain hose different n stopped the hose from slapping the side of the mechine. And it will rub thru the drain hose. Rerouted mine strait up the back of the mechine. Leave enough hose to allow movement of the motor parts to body mounts up the backside. Aluminum tape n gasket maker can be used as a patch if drain hose has rubbed through n leak. I use a pair of vicegrips to hold down the drain hose in the sink drain by clamping just behind the end collar into the sink drain.

    We found that this washer works best when hooked up to the bathroom sink. The adapter has threads inside and outside making it universal with almost any sink, and the hose fits perfectly into the drain of the sink with the trap removed. These machines work very well and get our clothes cleaner than most of the machines at the laundromat.

      Yes, I loved it! Ideally I would have been able to have it somewhere permanently, not having to wheel it into the kitchen. That took commitment. Diapers always seemed very clean after washing in this machine!

    Hi, I know it's been a few years since you posted these but I'm still hoping I can gain some insights. I see you turned the faucet on in this video even before you turned on the machine. Is the water running at this time? If so where? The problem with my machine is that when I turn on the faucet, the water will try to flow into the machine even though the machine stops accepting water in the non-fill cycles. I don't know if the problem is with my machine for not being able to control the on/off flow of water from the faucet or if my faucet should not be feeding water during non-fill cycles.

    • @Littlewholesome
      @Littlewholesome  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, I don't know exactly how it worked, but water did not flow. I don't understand how, but I do remember wondering, but then it seemed to work just fine! Good luck!

    I just got mine a week or so ago. I read the manual and it said never to use hot water. Since you have been using the machine for a while like this, have you experienced any issues relating to hot water use? I am not sure why hot water wouldn’t be allowed, but I also fully intend to use this for cloth diapers and I want to wash them properly

      Also, you don't turn off the water on a full size washer so why would you on a portable washer?

      I have the same model. It's not too bad but the spin cycle is very loud if it isn't properly balanced. We found that towels have to be washed separate to keep the tub from hitting the side of the machine and making noise.

    • @Littlewholesome
      @Littlewholesome  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Damaris Vazquez Yes, it worked great for us. I liked how I could rinse on cold, wash on hot, and rinse again. We use a regular washing machine now, and I miss using the portable one for our cloth diapers. I am not sure how gentle it is on things long term. It might stretch things out a bit, I remember onesie's would have a wide neck after washing them in this, but for the diapers it was great.

    • @annwithaplan9766
      @annwithaplan9766 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Damaris, the up and down motion is fairly new. The back and forth type was the norm. : ) Anyway, I have the same machine and I agree with her that it works great. Just don't overfill it and it will turn easily and forcefully push the clothes back and forth.

  • @eb121209

    Putting an item in the sink (Tupperware full of water) is a dumb idea since it can block the drain and the sink can potentially overfill leading to water all over the place.
    What I did was zip tie the drain hose to the inlet hose, that way the drain hose stays in place while draining the water.

    • @Littlewholesome
      @Littlewholesome  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Eric Ver Linden I think your zip tie idea sounds like a great solution. For us it was ok because I kept an eye on it, and I had filled the tupperware with water, so it was heavy and it did not block the drain in any way.

    • @annwithaplan9766
      @annwithaplan9766 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've been doing the same thing for about a year now and no overflow. It goes down the drain faster than it has a chance to overflow the sink. Mine has a u shaped pipe at the end, so I put it behind the dish rack, and that holds it in place.
