    This was so helpful and got me so excited for my haier washer to arrive! I'm having a baby in about a month and was stressing out over how I would get to the laundromat, keep up with laundry with a newborn, etc so my husband ordered me the larger version of this model as well as the ventless haier electric dryer. We ordered it thru target and I got 5% discount with my target credit card as well as free shipping! Now my dreams of cloth diapering can come true as well! I have a portable dishwasher as well that hooks up to the sink and it works beautifully. Whoever invented these sink hookup machines is a hero.

    had this washer/dryer set for a year now, live in a 1 bedroom apt so was a great solution, does a great job except things do tend to get tangled in the washer but we prolly load it too full sometimes, never had an issue at all that needed servicing. only thing is the wool lint filter in dryer is a pain , but we ordered extra filters im thinkin was less than 15.00 for a 3 pack from haier we just called number for service rite in front when you open the door, we use a baby hair brush to brush lint off wool filter and get 3-4 months out of 1 filter so can live with that, we found that very rarely we run the brush across the lint screen behind the filters about once every couple of months, but its never bad, we just do as preventive measure we use it on a daily basis, and sometime a couple loads a day, thinkin paid like 700 for the pair from wal-mart was here after 3 days. never have a problem with lint, dust from exhaust and we have no filter on vent. loads are usually dry after 90 min and like said prolly over load it from time to time, so no complaints, it doesn't get as hot hot as a regular 220 volt dryer and was skeptical about buying it, but over all for price and what it is am absolutely pleased and would recommend the set to everyone, oh yeah, since it doesn't get as hot as 220 volt my dress shirts are always wrinkled, tried drying them separate but still wrinkled so just hang them on shower rod rite from washer overnight and they're fine, guess that's only draw back can think of. but small price to pay considering only other option would be laundromat again would highly recommend to anyone who doesn't have room for full size set or 220 access

    I've had mine for a month now I guess and really do like it. It basically works like a regular washing machine, but does seem to spin more water out than a regular machine. I'm in a travel trailer and had to change my sink faucet and add a converter so the connecter would fit. Sometimes it would spit water out but when I used two washers instead of one (and didn't have to tighten it as much) and it quit leaking.

    I wondered how well one of those worked (I saw one in a pawn shop not too long ago). The flat washplate in the bottom that oscillates back and forth is what makes compact washers like that possible. The old style with the agitator in the middle wouldn't work for one that small because the agitator would take up too much space. And yes, camera microphones tend to over-emphasize the mid to higher frequency noises.

    Great video. Read a comment below about the unit making noise during spin cycle. I had the same issue. Called Haier and two days later technician came out to take a look at it. He said that it also needed to be exchanged. Explained that when its laying on the side during delivery it will mess up the center of the tub making it unbalanced. Make sure when its delivered that it is standing upright just like the box says. Company exchanged the whole unit no charge within 10 days. Very happy with it. Washes surprisingly good.

      There's also a nifty hand-crank washer called the wonderwash at laundryalternative you may want to check out as well. It takes about 7 or 8 minutes to do a day's worth of laundry but isn't rough on the clothes like other hand-wash options. I have both, and would recommend this as a back up and that you get the full 3 year protection plan with the haier. If you pair it with the 82 watt x 5-minute spin-dryer found at the same website, and you you can make it even easier. As flawed as it is, if you are going to hang-dry stuff, the spin dryer cuts drying times in half.

    • @AroundIndiana
      @AroundIndiana  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thejubieexperience
      I actually have the Wanderwash as well. I bought that a few years ago so I woudn't have to use the public laundry at my old apartment. I do agree it was nice for what it was. Although I don't use it anymore since I have the Haier, I kept it in case my Haier quits. I never had the spin dryer, but it did always seem like a good idea.

  • @vince7735

    The rubber mat underneath it is a good idea. If I had this machine and I was going to air dry my washed items, I might consider buying a separate spin "dryer" to extract more water and speed up the drying process. The rpm on spin dryers can really get up there and garments come out almost dry, from what I've seen in TH-cam videos.

    I have very hard water too. How has it held up with the hard water? Vinegar is great at removing hard water build up. You can also use vinegar as a fabric softener and I think it works better than regular fabric softener. You also cannot smell vinegar when it’s done washing. You can even add a few drops of essential oil to it (I keep it on a old dish soap container with one drop lavender oil per oz).

    Very odd questions, but...is this washing machine small enough that it could sit in a bathtub, and light enough that you'd be comfortable lifting it up and over the rim of the tub on a weekly basis? My apartment actually does have laundry hookups, but my landlord is paranoid and absolutely convinced that a washer would leak, so I'm not allowed to have one. If I can find a washer small enough to fit in the bathtub, I might be able to convince my landlord to let me have one. That way if somehow it DOES leak, the only place the water will go is down the tub drain.

    • @AroundIndiana
      @AroundIndiana  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      it is light enough to lift, but I'm not sure about it fitting securely in a bathtub. It may fit, but if it moved around at all it wouldn't be very secure. In fact it needs to be on a flat surface or it can throw off the balance during the spin cycle.

    • @AroundIndiana
      @AroundIndiana  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      the drain hose must be at a higher level than the washer or else it will not pump properly. If it is not higher, some of the drain water will backfill into the machine. They make that very clear in the manual. In fact, the hose is attached to the machine to avoid it being lowered and it says do not remove for that reason.

    Thank you for the review. I was looking for a small apartment portable washer and your video helped alot. Are there wheels on it or can you put wheels on it the move it around?

    • @AroundIndiana

      It includes wheels you can put on. Or you can put stationary feet on it if you won't be moving it. I put the wheels on.

      You can leave the faucet on, the washer starts and stops the flow. You can turn it off after it fills back up for the rinse.

    How do I drain the stored water inside it? I have been using this for 2 years now and it's heavier to move around. It sounds like there's water inside it not in the place where we put clothes in, that part gets drained. But water is in inside the machine and I don't know how to take it out. It's making moving the machine around really hard. Can anyone please help? Thank you

I've heard some accounts that these washers start going out at 2-3 years.

    • @AroundIndiana

      I have washed sheets but larger things like mattress pads may not work. When I was my comforter and large blankets I do it in a normal size washer. I can do just a few towels at a time. This washer is great for clothing, but large heavy items don't do too well.
