Pangong Tso is not the highest saltwater lake in the world. This is Nam Tso on the border of Lhasa and Nagchu districts of central Tibet. Nam Tso has an altitide of more than 4.700 m. Pangong Tso is famous for being a salt and fresh water lake as the same time. The eastern 2/3 of Pangong Tso are in China and the lake in this part has no salt water. Strange but true.
