    Get a soil meter! You can’t go wrong with a soil meter to check the moisture level near the roots.

    First time. What kind of soil do you use?

    • @sharanyein3466
      @sharanyein3466  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use normal soil. However croton like the soil that rich in acid ( high PH) to maintain colourful leaves. You can also use fertiliser that high PH 😀

    • @kharmencita1654
      @kharmencita1654 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sharanyein3466 High PH? or low PH? High means more than 7 which means alkaline? and low PH means acidic?

    I believe that thick one didn’t grow because it didn’t have a leaf. Leaves are the panels for photosynthesis and responsible for getting food from the Sun to promote growth

    • @sharanyein3466
      @sharanyein3466  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea, should not propagation the thick branch. It is quite difficult to grow root from it 😃. Always choose new grow branches 😀

    • @dominika3762
      @dominika3762 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why? You can grow a whole plant from a leafless chunk for philodendron, as long as you have a nide. It's s just more difficult

      @@sharanyein3466I’ve seen someone propagating from a thick woody stem (see Easy Gardening TH-cam channel video on propagating crotons). His woody thick stem did not have any leaves either, but did start growing leaves in the first 3 weeks. He first kept them in the shade, I believe, while they were growing the roots, then put them in bright indirect sunlight. Maybe that’s the difference? Otherwise, maybe the thick stem cutting you took in this video that did not grow roots was simply not healthy or didn’t have a root node present? (I will add the plants in the video I mentioned above were **definitely mature**. He took them from his yard and they had grown there for a while, so he had to cut the stems into multiple parts. Each part appeared to have several leaf nodes as well. So I think your theory may be correct that your thick cutting was just not mature enough and/or not enough leaf nodes or root nodes.)

    Leaves take so much time to grow roots and these roots are so delicate. They break easily 🤨

    • @sharanyein3466
      @sharanyein3466  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, i am so agree with you :) they are very declicate. That was really bad idea to take out and check the root :(

    • @Danielle-nz9tn
      @Danielle-nz9tn 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Can’t you propagate these in water? That way you don’t have to pull it out to see the roots. Just put into a clear container. I’ve never tried it with croton but it works with many other plants, even if it takes a few months to get the roots. Just change the water each week.

    • @sharanyein3466
      @sharanyein3466  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That happen to me sometimes too. Normally in the beginning of winter and another problem could be pets attack. If you see small white spot on the leave you should use neem oil and spary on it. Do it often until they complete gone 😃
