The Belmont transmitter (covering Lincolnshire and North Norfolk) moved from Anglia to YTV on 30th July 1974.

The waste of money the then UTV management paid useless big 4 accountants to say UTV Ireland would ever be viable. Even an idiot like me would have recommended buy out TV3 and rebrand it.
Liam Davis Called UTV on air with same font as ITV ( I think it’s time they changed that, it’s getting old), but now owned by ITV plc.
And yes, When ITV purchased the UTV business and library. They would sell UTV Ireland to TV3, TV3 would get the Irish rights to the entire ITV library for a few years and things went wrong? IDK if Virgin Media Ireland still has the ITV rights.

The logo for TVS used from 1987 onwards was actually first used in 1989, there was a version from 1987 but it had a lighter blue/grey design and was significantly different 👍 not being picky or anything 😂

Why LWT has the ITV Brand of 99 in 96 .... It's the wrong logo.
20th anniversary premiered on October 7, 1996 (fantasy).
Clearly showing what happened after Carlton took over Thames TV then proceeded to strip ITV of its regional identity by spreading to TSW and Central (like an infection). Worth noting David Cameron was head of communications at Carlton at the time. You could say the reason why ITV has lost its heart is because of Tory attitudes like those of David Cameron.
Of course Cameron was in charge.

Nicholas M Daskievige It always was part of the ITV network, but it’s now owned by ITV plc it keeps it’s on air identity as UTV though rather than use the English one. The only one now Independent is STV ( Scottish Television ).
At least we haven't seen ITV Scotland replace STV.
But STV are both Scottish Television and Grampian Television

ITV controllers at that time Carlton and Granada set up production branches in USA and later, Germany, France, Australia and the Nordics this latter 4 would become part of the ITV Studios group. But Thames entered the Soviet TV market first before the ITV corporation was founded. Thames agreed with the country's government to broadcast news bulletins, programs etc. This was one of the reasons why Thames exploded worldwide thanks to their successes in Japan, South America, Germany and beyond. (This is why Thames survives today as a production unit of Fremantle UK (but their children’s program library are with Boat Rocker))
really miss the old regional itv channels i remember back in the day if granada was crap id tune in to htv or central tv or yorkshire. real shame
4 ITV Regional channels on analogue tv, How did you manged to pick the other ITV Regional companies up, when ITV wasn't even Broadcasting on Satelite., I wanted my family to pick up LWT/Thames where i live in the Home Counties of East of England. All i got was either Anglia or Central.

What was the itv station in the Isle of Man and jersey
The Isle of Man was once part of the Border but is now part of the Granada region. Jersey is part of the Channel Islands and thus it is part of the Channel Television region.
That ITV ident music should have been in the Charts and I'm in Granadaland.
Totally agree. What a track. Says everything in the vocals and so haunting. I worked in Tyne Tees Television for 30 years and the individual company idents are a miss in my opinion. ITV is non descript now. My favourite Tyne Tees ident was the 80's one, where the logo runs up the screen. I still believe the Tyne Tees logo said it all, well designed with the 3 T's and the V making up the logo.

When the clocks ticks over to January 1982 and ATV was taken over to be replaced by Central and that crap orb and then the clock ticks over again at January 1993 and the end of ITV with Thames being taken off air by a company who passed a quality threshold and never produced one piece of quality in its near 10 year existence.
Slight problem: At first, TWW didn’t have the franchise for all of Wales.
Yeah, Teledu Cymru (The world's most functional name...) had Gwynedd and Conwy and Môn at first.

Your joining of the two Scottish franchises into one in 2006 isn't correct. There are still two franchise areas: STV North and STV Central. They work in exactly the same way as the ITV franchise areas.
They both use the same logo.

South West: Westcountry, based in Plymouth
West: Western Television, based in Bristol
Wales: Harlech Television (again), based in Cardiff
Anglia (West): Anglia Fenland Television, based in Cambridge
Anglia (East): East Anglian Television, based in Norwich

If they would bring the Thames name back, then I’d imagine ITV acquiring the Thames brand from FremantleMedia. Thus Thames would be a part of ITV again
