    One of my favorite pastimes is watching people get absolutely stunlocked by Sokoninaru.
    It's even crazier watching them do all of this live. This isn't just some clever studio magic; they do all this in real time.

      Wow that explains the pedal boards. I was really shocked so I'm definitely gonna investigate some more

    Not only the individual techniques, but also the composition and the chorus are wonderful. Be sure to listen to their song “gouni mou” as well.

    Love this band, great first reaction! If you're going to go down the Japanese rabbit hole and haven't already heard of Band-Maid, I would highly recommend them as they're an all female band with high class musicianship. The fans are rabid and videos always do very well viewership wise. If you want an instrumental I'd suggest "Without Holding Back" or "From Now On", otherwise you can't go wrong with any song you pick, especially their live stuff.

      Unfortunately I already know of band maid for a while now. They are one of the reasons I started this channel. From now on if my favourite song from them too lol. Never heard Without holding back though. If I can ever fit it in, I will give it a try since I'm all for instrumental music

    Welcome to Sokoninaru. (think the Polyphia link might just be the technicality of the band?)
    Gou ni Mouyu is similar, they also do some really complicated stuff and some melodic chilled stuff aswell

    • @roberthradek7100
      @roberthradek7100 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, to the technicality. I've heard people call them Polyphia on crack. They both have sudden instrumentation changes and notes that go in directions that you wouldn't expect yet sound really good. As for the boast, I have listened to and enjoyed a few Polyphia songs and a few Sokoninaru songs, yet Polyphia didn't make me immediately buy 3 CDs from Japan and 4 mp3 albums from Amazon the very next week, whereas Sokoninaru did. I didn't choose Polyphia to get you to react, really...though Blur is an amazing band that I have been listening to for decades, but 88 Kasyo Junrei's song 凍狂 (Frozen Crazy) is way better than any of their songs...
      ...did it work?
      Ok, how about more Atarashii Gakko?
      And yes to more Sokoninaru.

    • @compactrhythm
      @compactrhythm  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I worry when people talk about bands and compare them to polyphia because they're obviously the most popular band that does these crazy complicated but it just means every band is in their shadow.
      By the way I have maybe 1 or 2 atarashii gakko videos already recorded. Not sure if I'll upload them any time soon because my schedule over the next 2 weeks is pretty full but hopefully in the new year I can take some recommendations for specific songs from all these bands

    Love your reaction, they have so many good songs. You need to listen to Ichika Nito if you like guitar he is amazing, he played guitar on deathnote with polyphia

      I actually saw him live during the summer and have a few ichika nito reactions from a few weeks ago. Really appreciate his work

  • @unattributed1641

    The thing about Polyphia is they are crazy good on a technical level, but their compositions seem lacking to me. Sokoninaru is amazing in their ability to write well l structured songs with complex arrangements that showcase their technical abilities. Some more to check out from Sokoninaru: Saite, RE:Program and Lament Moment.

    I've generally compared them to Polyphia because they, like Polyphia, take tried and true elements of multiple genres and blend them together in unique, novel, and creative ways. I prefer Sokoninaru because they're much faster, and I'm not much for instrumental bands overall. Nonetheless, my favorite song of theirs, "Complicated System," is one that's more Polyphia-esque; though, it's still much faster and structured to incorporate vocals -- vis a vis pure instrumentals like Polyphia's. Another one that's also Polyphia-esque in terms of compositional choices, but played at 240bpm, is "Kyokugen Ha Setsuna." Regardless, always glad to see any reaction to my favorite band.

    • @compactrhythm
      @compactrhythm  ปีที่แล้ว

      240 bpm 💀 I might have a heart attack. I'll take your recommendation on board and hopefully get to it asap

    the title is 'Dance on a hand.' Of course, Budha's hand.
    The guy sturdied Philosophy at the Buddhistic University. All what you are thinking and doing is not beyond Budha's world. The music is unique and progressive, but the content is heavy and philosophical.

    Very nice honest reaction, very much appreciated but you will never listen to everything nor will you find merit in some work whilst others do. Although I hate the concept of genre editing you may initially want to use this or you will be overwhelmed. Also I would suggest a single song by each, rather than burying yourself in everything a band has ever done or you will not achieve 1% of your impossible goal. The UK alone has over 46k working musicians if 3+ make a band and they make a single new song every week that's 2,ooo new songs each day! So you need 20 reaction vids a day to make 1% of just the UKs creativity let alone the world. Now have you heard much JazzCore or Uzbekistan Punk?
