Lyrics:
I'll be damned, here comes your ghost again
But that's not unusual
It's just that the moon is full
And you decided to call
And here I sit, hand on the telephone
Hearing the voice I'd known
A couple of light years ago
Headed straight for a fall
But we both know what memories can bring
They bring Diamonds and Rust
Yes we both know what memories can bring
They bring Diamonds and Rust
Now I see you standing with brown leaves all around and snow in your hair
Now we're smiling out the window of the crummy hotel over Washington Square
Our breath comes in white clouds, mingles and hangs in the air
Speaking strictly for me we both could've died then and there
Now you're telling me you're not nostalgic
Then give me another word for it
You were so good with words
And at keeping things vague
Cause I need some of that vagueness now
It's all come back too clearly, yes, I love you dearly
And if you're offering me diamonds and rust, I've already paid
But we both know what memories can bring
They bring Diamonds and Rust
Yes we both know what memories can bring
They bring Diamonds and Rust
Diamonds, Diamonds and Rust
Diamonds, Diamonds and Rust
Diamonds, Diamonds and Rust
Diamonds, Diamonds and Rust - เพลง
This has to be one of the best live high notes in heavy metal 2:37
it’s not even that high
@@vdylanhighwood2998 It's not about it being as high as possible, it sounds great

No band in the history of Heavy Metal has ever come close to the greatness of Judas Priest.🤘❤️
They are my favorite 🤘
As much as I love Judas Priest.. Iron maiden are greater in the eyes of pop culture
@@NTheDragon0 Yeah, Iron Maiden is ok. pop.
@@NTheDragon0 Iron MAiden Opened so many times for Priest back in the days.
I love Maiden..... but this is pure and raw.
Everybody has his/her own favourite bands. I too do love JP.
But there are many other good bands - Aerosmith, Black Sabath, Deep Purple, GNR, Rainbow, Nazareth, Iron Maiden, etc. I like them all. 🖖✌️
Rob Halford one of the best voices on metal forever
He's God!
The besr
the best dude ,the best
Bruce and dio might argue with you on that
Correction. THE BEST METAL VOICE OF THE UNIVERSE
I’m so glad they finally got inducted in the rock roll hall of fame! They deserve it. I love heavy metal and I will always love Judas Priest. 🤘
I couldn’t agree more, Love them!
Amén 🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟
Darn right! Now we gotta get them to induct Iron Maiden. Like JP, they have been snubbed far too long.
You just gotta love Rob... he lays out the verses like chit-chatting with a next door housewife, and then gives it a warp speed boost at ‘then and there’... he’s the vocal God!
born to do it…so relaxed and in his element..what a voice, actor, artist !!!
One of best performance in metal history
Sin duda alguna Bro🤘🏻🫀🫵🏻🔗.
Not to mention the greatness of KK's Spinal Tap hair style.
There are many many good Metal Bands out there, but Priest is THE METAL BAND
Brutal
Damn right.
Rubbish
3:13 "Yes, I loved you dearly" = most brutal lyrics ever
And she did. She loved and adored Bob.
I think people will be listening to this 200 years from now
No lo dudes.Algo así escribí yo.Saludos.💪🏻😝🤘🏻
Intro by Glenn Tipton is phenomenal
Fabio Santos its amazing
Needs more delay....
As if he wrote The Sentinel on this concert. Not that most of the riffs aren't actually by KK.
Anyhing by him is phenomenal
Fucccckkkkkk yeahhhh !!!!😈🤘🖕
In the middle of a low note refrain just casualy belting a high pitch scream to say something to the audience like others singers would stragle to do live even if it was in the actual song. Rob is awesome
Diamonds (Good memories) and Rust (bad memories). I just now got that....
It's about Joan and Bob Dylans relationship.
When you are just better than everyone else at something.
Judas Priest forever !
Metallica does the same thing and is better. Metallica is better than Priest in so many different areas, for many different reasons lol. Metallica is so good, they have an album... a thrash album... in the library of congress LOL. Have sold nearly 3x more albums than Priest. They can sell out stadium shows anywhere on the planet, Priest can;t do that. They are a band with a net worth of over a billion dollars.... it goes on and on.
i m also metallica fan and love them both. No need more info about metallica bro.@@bobabooey4537
@@bobabooey4537 James Hetfield isn't even in the same galaxy as Rob Halford speaking of vocal capabilities. Also, Glenn Tipton's solos are leagues better than anything Kirk Hammett has ever made. If popularity is your way of measuring quality, then go ahead and say Taylor Swift is even better than Metallica, lol.
rob one of the best singers ever , i was at this show , this song was a shock , and he killed it , still today 30 some years later he kills it
This was around the peak of the Metal era. I remember buying almost all of theirs and the Scorpions albums going back to the 70’s. I never saw Priest in concert, but they were a good concert band. The Scorpions were a GREAT in concert. They put on a SHOW! Fun times, back in the day.
This was my first ever meeting with a live concert. I was stunned. This is the pure excellence of music. It's devastating in the good way. Hail Judas Priest! 👌👌👌
An Absolute CLASSIC. . . JUDAS PRIEST, WILL LIVE FOR EVER !!!
Saw them in Charlotte, NC.... January 12 1983.....center of stage standing down on the floor...probably 15ft away! Simply amazing. I would pay a lot of money to be able to see that concert again (and many others lol) at the age of 17 and these guys at their absolute peak. So cool to be able to make eye contact with Rob and Glenn and get a nod or other form of recognition from them during the show. Crazy thing was the ticket probably cost me $12 bucks or so lol. Those were incredible times and I feel very blessed to have grown up then....no Covid...no real worries....just being young and free and happy and able to see some of the best bands of all time. 😎🙌🤘
Master cover from the undisputed masters of Heavy Metal.🤘❤️
I saw Priest on this tour ‘82 in Largo Md - best concert ever - made me a Priest fan for life! …and yeah they blew the power out on this song!
Never understood dave was a vero underrated drummer. I always love his live drumming .
Never missed a beat
He even uses double bass drums around 2:37, which was something many people accuse him of being unable to do.
Dave Holland The Greatest For All Time
@@MetalJesus157 It was the only time he used the double bass on this particular gig...
Mr. Hill is the unsung hero once again
NEW RULE: If Judas Priest covers your song, it's not your song anymore.
Well say XD
Well, except for Johnny B Goode
if judas priest covers my song lol?? fu bitches :)
NOPE WRONG THIS SONG IS A CLASSIC JOAN BIAZ WROTE ABOUT HER, AND BOB DILLION I DIG PEIST’S VIRGIN, BUT GIVE JOAN ALL THE GLORY SHE’S LENGEND IN HER OWN RIGHT.
Nope
i wish i can go back to 82
I was in a Concert in81' in Grugahalle in Essen/Germany.
Opener was Accept...Special Act Def Leppard...and then Judas Priest...i felt Like in heaven..but i was 11 years old..... anyway, i'am still loving this Music!!! Heavy greatz to all....🤘
I was at that concert...memphis TN..1982 mid south coliseum
my self my brother , still got the ticket stub what a show
You are lucky
No video or pics it didn’t happen
Was also. I was 12. First real concert and was hooked.
Damn... I envy you... 😳
the best fucking heavy metal band of the universe !!
In the way back days I had an ex BF who found a mangled little kitten in a dumpster. I named him TIPTON & he lived a life of luxury. He had a bum leg so we called him Tippy. He was the best cat ever! I still have dreams about him.
True Gods Of Heavy Metal.
The best band all time!
That is all...
I saw them on this tour on Dec 2 1982 in Nashville, TN with Uriah Heep opening. Awesome show.
The lead by tipton is very well done.
My VOTE goes to Judas Priest for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2022
Remember that concert Daddy? You and mom had a grand old time!
You might be ,,made,, that evening ????
They made that song famous. It would have been forgotten.
I've never forgotten it, and I just found out in 2024 that these guys covered it.
Still have this show on VHS, when it was simulcast live back in 82. It's obviously pretty worn out by now. haha
It's a crime this song wasn't in the best of collection.
It is somewhat inappriopriate to put covers in best of collections. I guess this is the reason.
If you put a cover in a best of album it makes the band seem less original
The best of the best of the covers
What a voice. What a song by his pal, Joan Baez, For some reason this version made me break down and weep for the pain this sweet man has gone through in the unforgiving and homophobic world of metal.. My hero. Shout out if you love Rob..
Absolutely!
I admire your sensibility. Beautiful song
Priest always flew the flag even when metal wasn't in vogue
I’m really going to Miss Glen Tiptons
I will miss seeing KK and Glenn play together
*-Most Underrated METAL GOD'S Anthem.*
Most metal live version of Diamonds and Rust I've ever heard
Check out the version on "unleashed in the east, live in japan" maybe their best album
Check out their rendition on ' unleashed in the east' , the production is a bit more raw, but the energy is amazing
But do you know who wrote the song without looking it up????
@@mitchnelsen yup, Joan B.
Nah, unleashed in the east was the grittiest and best by far. Halford’s vocals and Holland’s drumming are weak in here.
The lyrics make this song truly memorable...
Joan Baez wrote them about her breakup with Bob Dylan
Quarantine 2020 checking in
Line up is great! Glenn is such a great guitarist
Those guitars chemistry are 🔥 is like one each other
This is proof that a great song remains great regardless of who's behind it...
Really fun to watch this version..
I love this version
Me too, The best version, better than the studio record, I've been listenng for ages..
Its my favorite
@@roadhse same
Sin after Sin must be their best and the most overlooked Judas Priest album....
Priest, please release as a live CD and DVD - Now!
I have the DVD, had it for four years now
Hi, I can not calculate the times I've heard this song in different versions, I consider it a favorite center of my circle of favorite several songs of Judas Priest I like
So happy I found this!! Brings back some 1989 memories, good ones!
Yes, April !! Those memories will NEVER go away....... EVER!!!!!!!
Going to see these guys on Thursday night in Youngstown Ohio. Can't wait.
One of the best concerts I ever saw its a toss up between Priest and Maiden !
I saw Maiden open for Priest in 1981 and 1982. You knew Maiden would become huge. Priest hooked them up big time!
@@vickiangelucci6745 i saw them in 81 as well, kick ass
JP is my fave band. Saw them live twice (1985 & 2022). Great shows - but 1985 was better cuz Glen & KK were still playing in the band. I saw Iron Maiden once in 2016. This show is in my top 5 all-time favorite concerts. Just unbelievable how amazing they are live.
This is a fine example of how fungible music is and as much science as it is an art form. The original song was composed by Joan Baez is a acoustic folk song This has been rearranged to sound like a heavy metal song.
And yours is a fine example of what social media posts should be -- interesting, educational (I had to look up meaning of fungible) and with a touch of passion. :D
It's great!
it is a heavy metal song
It is a Metal song.
Metal version is far better
I love this!!!! This is the stuff that got me into the PRIEST HOOD!!!!.... My buddies older brother had all this on VHS tape!!!!!
I saw Priest and Def Leppard in Tucson, Arizona, for, get this. $5 a ticket. It was an unbelievable show. Halford is untouchable, except maybe King Diamond. 🤴
YEA THIS NEVER HAPPENED
This is a f-ing unbelievable rendition! JP at their finest. The showmanship is also incredible. Had this whole show on VHS back in the day. Watched it once or twice.
Priest at their best
Always loved this song. Just found out today it is from Joan Baez. 😮😲😂
Btw, this is one of the best concerts of JP. All of them in tiptop shape. 💋🤟
Saw this tour in Dec in Jax and the amount of ass it kicked is still being calculated.
True story.....
Joan Baez was covered by a lot by Metal Bands. She is sort of the mother of Heavy Metal...
More like the weird aunt.
@@MenardGC False. She rules.
Who else was she covered by, then? Literally nobody.
@@dtutssel Led Zeppelin stole one of her songs
I'm gonna have to give Mother of Metal title to Maria Brink (In This Moment). Sorry Joan!
Got to see Judas Priest finally after all these years. One of my dreams came true. Checked off on my bucket list.
Pica das galáxias e dos universos paralelos.
Concordo
Sandro Paula os caras são lendas, o resto é resto
Melhores performances são do Halford
I really like this version more than the ballad, Judas rocks!
That voice! its awesome.
no body could touch these guys so many songs with the wicked and sinister sound
I love him
Awesome Priest!!
Saw this concert live in my hometown laredo texas 2500 head bangers good times
TRUE metal voice and music by Priest
That song would have been long forgotten if it wasn't for them.
By whom exactly? It was a classic unforgettable song prior to JP Covering it in their own special way
Saw this tour. Great times
This is my favorite among many....
Wow the volume and crowds back then, beats today easy.
Best voice ever
Great band great performances
This is when music was kick ass and fun!!
DEFINITIVAMENTE...EL MEJOR GRUPO DE METAL....EL DIOS DEL METAL..
JUDAS PRIEST!!.
This was, is and will ever be the real shit! Hail to the Priest!
Uff what a great performance..wish i was there parce
I was!
KK's gone from the band, Glenn has parkinson's disease, and Dave Holland is passed on!! I miss this!! But the Priest is still going strong!! Their latest cd is probably the best material I've heard from them in quite a while. Tom Allom back...coincidence?!?
But this is the "true" real Judas Priest. These are the 5 guys who established the Priest brand and legacy. Although Firepower is a good album, it's still a watered-down version of the legendary line-up. And the young generation should know this. But unfortunately I don't think they get it. Personally for me it's a little depressing to watch and listen to it nowadays. This is the Priest I prefer to remember. The only Priest that I truly connect with is this line-up right here. And any Priest album released without KK and Glenn's input is NOT Priest at heart. Period!
If people only knew what was waiting for them..
Priest live..Amazing
Still my favorite Priest song even though it’s a cover.
My favorite.. 5 stars🎖🎖🎖🎖🎖
Happy 71st Birthday to The Metal God 🤘🤘
Mr.Dave Holland THE BEST DRUMS, ONLY 1 DRUMS Judas Priest.
PERFECT, FANTASTIC, MAGNIFIC, R.I.P LOVE YOU FOREVER ❤️
Guitar solo amazing wow!
2:33 Halford...
i agree.. this is insane performance (Y)
I've heard he's some sort of "Metal God"...
To use a football analogy - if it’s first and goal you run Halford straight up the gut and he’s scoring everytime. You’re not settling for field goals.
The band makes the group!!!!!
I see those who say unleashed in the east was fixed but please we have fuel for life and live vengeance tours as well as THE PAINKILLER ROCK IN RIO LIVE so keep the metal faith alive as it has been said before!
I can hardly imagine any other live show whose every single moment I would watch and enjoy. Sure, the proper switching of shots and frames does matter. However, it would not work even 5% without the stage dynamics: the guitarists are truly live onstage. Let alone the vocalist. How will he move in a second? How will he smile in a second? Which mug will he make in a second? Ultimately artistic stuff. Notedly, without any background screens. Just humans, lights, and talent.
LOVE this cover of this song!
Cover?
Love this song and band!
gosh I just love this concert man imsittin in front of the screen my comp and man hes got everything they all dogreat upload thx a priest fannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
Great voice
THIS BAND IS LEGENDARY 🤘🤘🤘🤘 IT'S PURE METAL!!!!🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Judas priest. Yo no me creo que no hayan salido .....como para no estar en el paseo de la fama...del rock &roll.
