To look at a different light:
Every single person on this earth naturally in their brains which is fight, flight or freeze. All people have their main response to being in a panic inducing/distressing/dangerous situations. Some people immediately is to fight, other people is to panic an run away, an then there are the people who freeze. It looks like the mothers response was to freeze an motherly instinct to grab her child while the fathers response was to run away. Look at all the people that is seen in the footage. The most common response for the unharmed victims was to flee, the second most common response was to hide, then the third common one was to freeze, an the least common response from the victims an only one citizen did this an that was to fight an put himself in the line of fire to save his family.

The dad holding the child in front of his chest as he guides and makes decisions was also pretty stupid, on top of going out of cover. Both leaving cover or staying in cover can get you killed. Whoever signed that bill for no more life sentences for juveniles completely disregarded the reasoning behind juveniles having life sentences in the first place. It’s for the kids who committed the worst types of crimes. Even Nathaniel will likely laugh at the bill for favoring and possibly releasing him in the future. Fully knowing that he can easily cause another tragedy. Some people need to realize that monsters like these with video evidence, and multiple people accounts for his insane actions should stay in prison. It’s not like he is unaware of his actions. He knows, he understands, and he deserves to stay in that jail cell.

Nobody is coming but your family when everything else is gone. Now I'm the old man and none of my kids could save me. They can't help themselves, much less me. It's ok, I'm not the only person facing an uncertain future. There were lots of heroes that day, and one that we may never know the real reason why he decided innocent irrelevant people needed to suffer. Why can't people take responsibility for their own lives. I think it comes from living too comfortably. People were better when everyone worked and pulled together to survive.

You’re right. The cops went into this situation extremely well. Like some people might say “why were they arresting the victims?” But at that moment, they have absolutely no idea who is a victim and who is a potential shooter and having the cops guard the victims like they were ensures more safety in such an uncertain situation. No one’s panicking and everything is controlled which hopefully will have less fatalities since all the cops are armed. Even had some officers guarding the perimeter to make escape routes less likely and bystanders safer. There was no hesitation, just action, which is what you hope for in these horrible situations.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
      John 3:16-21
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
      Mark 1.15
15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
      2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
      Hebrews 11:6

8:55 Lupe is a badass. He ran directly into the chaos to find his family, then stood his ground right in front of the shooter despite being threatened and told the shooter the cops were behind him. Then when the shooter left he continued searching for his family. To stare a killer in the eye like that without flinching is incredible. You can tell all he cared about was his family.

Adrenaline and parenthood are both a hell of a drug. Without one’s children involved in the situation, there is no telling how someone will react. Some people freeze when facing death, some people fight. However, if the situation is a parent going in after their child, then incredible things can happen. People who are scared of their own shadows will sprint into a burning building or step in front of a gunman to save their children or loved ones. That kind of a relationship can completely override a person’s sense of self-preservation. Not saying this to take anything away from this man. I don’t know how he walks around with the 100 pound brass balls between his legs. Just saying that people can and regularly do incredible things to protect loved ones.

Victim blaming: The victim of someone else's actions or bad luck may be offered criticism, the theory being that the victim may be at fault for having attracted the other person's hostility. In such cases, the psyche projects the experiences of weakness or vulnerability with the aim of ridding itself of the feelings and, through its disdain for them or the act of blaming, their conflict with the ego.

There’s that famous video from 10 years ago of police officers beating Kelly Thomas, a homeless schizophrenic, to death. He cried out for his “dad” the entire time. It is so horrid, especially knowing his father has seen the footage-being powerless to do anything after the fact.

His father is to blame as much as the son if there was locked up how did he get the key this is why so many Americans are blinded of their own freedom because they got to have guns they say guns do not kill people it's people kill people maybe they need to change the law of people buying guns if they are going to use guns on a farm that's a different matter but no one should have guns at home if they want guns and how to fire guns should go to a gun range and keep them at a gun range if he didn't have the guns in the house or didn't hit the keys these people will be alive today

@@andyday3571 This is the exact thinking that allows these things to continue in our country. The belief that removing guns from citizens a second amendment right will stop these murderers is wishful thinking. Criminals wont give up their guns and law abiding citizens will making them vulnerable to these types of crimes just like in this video. If just one of the victims in this video would have been armed this carnage would probably never have happened!

I agree with you on the fact the father should be held responsible for the guns being accessible. Aside from that, though there are so many criminals that own firearms all across the United States that the only way to ensure my families safety is to own a firearm myself and be trained on how to use it. when it comes to shootings most of the time the police show up after the damage is done. People also take advantage of gun free zones, knowing that no one will be able to defend themselves. Just sad all the way around.

I do think that it was a cuntish move by the cops to handcuff and detain anyone in that situation, with no care or thought of the victim's safety or removing them from the danger that in itself would cause as much trauma as from the shooter. A typical reaction from American police, and then to go on and treat the shooter better than the victims, the shithead shooter doesn't just get to surrender and say it's over or I'm done now.
