appreciate you speaking to folks' concerns on such a timely basis. i fear i might not fare too well with the whole "not-knowing" aspect of this industry, that's been a struggle for me in more personal relationships for sure. but, really doubling down on the idea that "we're a competitive service industry creating product with a specific purpose" helps divorce some of the emotion from the equation, and i have made progress on these feelings in the last 9 months - going from "i don't know if i can do this (creating around templates & existing music, rather than just make the music for myself)" to thinking about things in a more strategic & assembly-line attitude without having negative feelings about the "artistic integrity". Sync Academy resources have been really helpful in this evolution.

I'm still baffled that people would ever want to use AI to create music, which is a pure reflection of the individuals human soul's perception of the world and the emotion that comes with it. The creative process is what being a true artist is, the joy of creating is the core of the joy that is creation so to even want to use AI to create music goes completely against what music is, therefore it is irrelevant so it's not real music, it is fake music that has no soul. Like there's a reason why it's always been so important to me to know about the person or people creating the music that I love. I want to know if that person is genuine and what they are about and this is inspiring exciting and there's that invisible connection you form to that artist and it inspires you or affects but it is a human connection. So yeah, this is why AI should not be put in the same category as music as it has nothing to do with the human soul and there is no human connection to a real artist so therefore it is just an empty imitation. I think what i have said alone should stop all AI being involved in creating music or film for that matter or any kind of art. If you can't do it or can't be bothered to learn a craft or you just suck just stay away from the creative space and go work in some other area that gives free passes, peace friends, and thanks again Jesse for the useful info, been trying to break into the sync industry for almost a year now, I create full songs with vocals across a few rock related styles and yeah, nobody around me gives a crap about what I am trying to do especially over here in Australia ha ha, so I keep working hard and improving my production skills and just keep creating but the struggle is real🤘😎

My struggles are trying to find consistent time to work on sync and as a newbie/drummer, trying to establish a musical understanding of melodies. I've been listening to a lot of sync tracks lately for references

yeah, i wonder if the truth is that they DID receive financial & technical support from the Chinese gov't. although, the fact that it's public and open source makes gov't development more unlikely(?), either origin story still leads to a massive blow to Silicon Valley.
