All these reasons are cancelled out by the big grin I have whenever I see one, and Jumbo Jim's have never been so cheap 😁

Lol, Living in Minnesota having a fatbike is a necessary tool for the winter months. My specialized Fatbike works like a champ, 0 issues. Not for everyone, but definitely for me. Happy Holidays!

Fellow Minnesota resident, Totally agree. I have a fat hard tail with narrow Q factor. Knees are fine, don't ride mud anyway, does awesome in the snow and ice, fun in the dirt, good workout on pavement. Have a set of 29ers to make it a normal or plus hard tail to mix it up.
Check my profile picture, downhill fatbike racing at Spirit Mountain in Duluth, MN.

Fat bikes are like a specialized tool for certain conditions and who doesn't like tools? I use my fat bike in winter and I install studs that allows me to ride on glaze ice when all the cars are sliding around, just make to stay out of their way.

I ride a Diamondback Hybrid. Top speed is about 50 km/h for 10 minutes on the flat. It can handle trails, hills, road courses, sidewalk and fields with its compliant front suspension and 21 speed gear selector. Cruising speed is about 30 km/h. It becomes uncomfortable within about 50km but I find it to be a good blend of everything.

since about 10 days i have a dual motor fatty.. and its superb ... a beast of a bike with 2 x 1.5 kw ... easy pulls up a hill.. or through very high grass where a normal bike sucks...loose sand?? no problem
i mainly use it on street so i changed the cross tires against street tires (and still runs fine on a gravel road)
fat bike needs more energy.. yes.. but on these you also find bigger battery packs and if you mainly use it on steet (like me)... then do not run them flat ... pump them up to 1.5 bar and they feel like mopped tires (suspension has to do the job not the tire!) .... a foam inley is heavy but with a bit smaller tube and that self sealing stuff in the tube its quite safe against snakebites or punch holes ...
no a fatty is not a real downhill racer or a hardcore trail bike ... but it has its points
you do not go on paris Dakar with an F1 racer... and you do not try to win monaco F1 Race with a Jeep...
i love my dual power fatty ... easy pulls v
be it uphill, high grass . or pulling a trailer with some food (i do not have a car)
and unrestricted its fast without any further moddings (57 to 58kmh on a flat road)... all the smaller kinks and bumps are smoothed out... ITS A TANK OF BIKE 😂

how are the pedals wider set in a fat bike? They should not be affected at all.

    • @chargeriderepeat7024

The bottom bracket is wider so your feet clear the rear stays

Funny video, but in all honesty I live in central Canada where we have a very very long winter and my fatbike allows me to feel safe and ride the icey and snow roads all winter long to work and even be able to hit beautiful snowy trails i haven't fallen or anything. Best investment I have ever made I love cycling and it allows me to ride year round!

@@jamesferguson2353 the larger wheels do pull a little on uneven surfaces, such as the edge of a road. Probably not a big issue just something I found unusual.

I've got a fat tyre bike on the road they are great that's where you ride a bike on road. Any tyre in mud won't do well why ride a bike in mud. Tubeles is the best if I get a puncture fix at side of road with plugs simple half an hour. Or the best is keep in short distance from where you live so you don't have along walk home. If you take your bike 20miles away the road is the same as 2 miles away it's like green grass your not goog to go 10mukes to see green grass when I can see it out side where I live see my point

never seen anyone climb a tree with a bike before to be honest ! and it was funny how that guy did like a BMX jump then broke the front fork, that guy that lives in the cotswolds had a couple of them fat bikes for the first time earlier this year and he seemed to favor them, so does the guy that sells the HV modification kits for the BBSHD, but I still dont understand the appeal. I have seen a few in the past couple of years and they look like they were probably made for pennies in China, they were riding quite slowly too.
