One of my favorite rides ever was on a light dusting of snow on my usual trail using my plus bike, so the full fat bike experience on real winter conditions is calling out to me. Your videos make it look very fun and incredibly scenic.
One of my favorite rides was about 28 yrs ago. A friend and I did a night ride after a fresh 6" of snow had fallen and we had a nearly full moon. We hardly had to use our lights except where the trees were too dense to allow the moonlight to shine through.
Nice to see videos on the Thompson Park Trails, I throw a few videos on here now and then. I actually did the Blacktail loop last weekend it was nice. Maybe see you in the area sometime.
@@RideYearRound actually the pace of your video is soothing. I appreciate the lack of hype. I shared this video with the trail society that I'm a leader in, and with our network. Very informed and educational. Well done!
You mentioned suspension forks for a fat bike. Can you recommend any of them? I only found rock shocks but those are a bit to expensive for me at the moment.
Most fat suspension forks run in the 600-800 dollar range. The only cheaper option with modern fat bike standards is the RST Renegade, but it has mixed reviews. The most popular options for a fat bike are the Rockshox Bluto, Manitou Mastodon, and Wren Inverted Fork.
I’d treat it like a regular bike purchase on if you want a motor or not. It’s obviously nice to have if you like e-bikes, but it may also restrict where you can ride.

Yeah for sure, say hi if you see me! I’ll have to go check out the Blacktail Loop in the next few days before it gets warm next week.
Fantastic video! Well explained.
Thanks! I know videos like these aren’t the most exciting, but it answers questions I had starting out that I’m sure others have too.

I want to buy a fat tire bike for snow. I live in MA and I don’t know if I should buy a fat tire E-bike or regular one. Thoughts?

I love my 26x4 dualmotor fatty 😂
