Crazy that people are willing to pay $700 for a minimal visual upgrade. These minimal upgrades is something I noticed happening quite a bit in the PC space. I’m just a bit disappointed that PlayStation is doing it pretty similar, if not worse.

@hortinus actually yeah. Price the parts out , it's still massively cheaper than any pc equivalent for power and performance. Microsoft just rolled out a digital series x with 2 TB ssd and the want $600! Also, saying $800 is disingenuous. A very large majority of us don't use our disc drives. If your disk drive is important to you: 1) prepare to lose that option in the future. 2) This product is either not made for you or then you are the outlier and you need the add on drive. For you it might be $800. For me or others it's $700. Stop worrying how much money people spend. Friend of mine spent $8000 on a lift for his Jeep. I think it's dumb but people that use that don't. Also someone with loads of disposable income, $700, really ain't shit.
@@rogerionascimento5580It’s very expensive. It’s not a good price in my opinion. Performance and graphics are very important to me but I’m not sure I want to buy the pro considering the regular ps5 with disc drive cost so much less.

@@TheJamtarts1 Well, my comment didn't imply that the PS5 PRO would be my last PlayStation. But yes, it did mean that I was switching from my old gaming PC to a console for better graphics, and I won't be upgrading the PC anymore. Even though PC technology continues to evolve and has been a part of my daily life for almost 30 years, that chapter has now come to an end. I don't agree with the idea that something gets worse just because new things come along. It's still as good as when it was first made. The difference is only in your perception of it, and perhaps the insecurity that comes from not having the latest technology 🙂
@@anssiaatos I mean the technology remains the same but it becomes outdated. That's why the PS4 seems rubbish now and that will happen to the PS5 Pro in the not too distant future. Fair enough if that's what you wanna do. I just think it's a bit strange to jump to a $700-800 PS5 Pro when you have a PC and have been a PC gamer. Like I said you could wait until the 5060ti comes out and buy it for around $399 minus whatever you can sell your current GPU for and it will be stronger than a PS5 Pro and have all the advantages of PC.
PC gamers trying to justify PC over PS. Not only do you need to spend £300 more just to get a similar experience, they forget that game developers optimise games for PS consoles first. Also PS gets their exclusives a year before PC. I have both and use my PS 95% of the time. Most PC gamers are overly obsessed with frame rate numbers and forget about ease of use and enjoyment factors.
All that is negated by the stupid monthly online fee PS players have to pay. PS even hiked the price of that fee recently, which made me cancel my subscription and I game exclusively on PC now.
I see in the comments people keep talking about Xbox series x fans bro the PS5 Pro do look better than the PS5 🤣 okay I get that but that's not the Xbox series x they talking about playstation compare the PS5 Pro vs Xbox series x side by side on games and see which one looks better and shut and just go spend your money again who cares 😂😂😂😅😅😅
if there's no competition in a market, then Sony will overprice and continue to overprice everything including their consoles, ps plus, etc etc because you have no other option to go for and everything will get so expensive to the point where you'll become broke. also, if sony has no other competition, they don't have to care about their consumers either so they'll give you even less features and updates and stuff. see the problem with that?
I get that I’m watching this via compressed TH-cam and my OLED monitor but I really really do not see or perceive game changing “TAKE MY MONEY NOOOOOWW!!!” graphics improvements. If Sony wants me to buy essentially the same product again, I need earth shattering head exploding improvements and it’s just not there. The PS5 Pro is less a hardware upgrade and more a tilling of the field or conditioning their customers for how expensive the PS6 will be in 2027. Also the Insomniac guy talking about improvements leads me to believe that Sony will charge for PS5 Pro upgrade patches. Last I checked, no one at Insomniac works for free, everything he was describing will take many man hours to accomplish, so count on around $10 for the “privilege” of playing on the Pro with higher specs. Just call it Sony Upscaler Pro😂
For the love of god!!!!! Sony, stop making ps4 games!!!!!!!!! Ur holding the damn ps5 back. We bought a ps5 to play ps5 games not ps4…..
um not really mate . theres something called optimisation. for example Hogwarts legacy are you saying the game is worse on ps5 because they made a switch and ps4 version ? obviously not . but the issue is present more so in online multiplayer games because they have to be compatible on ps4 and ps5 if cross gen released this means making it worse on ps5 sometimes . but story games overall never have this issue also sony makes a select number of games 3rd parties on mainly the ones that make the games cross gen
Why R&C is worse on ps5 pro than ps5 fidelity mode? Grass, crowd and "antialiasing" downgrade! Someone can explain? Maybe developer patch it?
30fps vs 60fps
@@kiisseli1337 I understand that, but if your paying that much money the PS5 Pro should always look at least as good as the quality mode on the base PS5 imo.
@@TheJamtarts1R&C already looks amazing, terrible choice to show the PSSR with that. BMW, Space Marine 2 and FF XVI are the games they should’ve showcased with the PSSR, I sacrifice fidelity over performance any day but they look blurry af even though they are some of my fav games of this gen.
Spoiler: games that look good on a base ps5 still look good on an overpriced, digital only scam (ps5 pro)
Advanced Ray tracing they said, its still half res to whats achievable on my PC. So basically your paying £700 just for an upscaler lol.
It still doesn't excuse Sony's price asking point, if PlayStation actually had competition PS5 Pros price would probably be $575-$600.
Agreed
Still cheaper than a comparable Pc and transistor costs aren't going down. They should've thrown in a disc drive instead of a 2tb ssd
Better Tech means higher point to get in. Why people want more from these companies yet don't want to pay for it is some broke bitch shyt.
@@RandomGamingMoments925 You can build a better PC for less than the PS5 Pro
You need to blame Microsoft for the ps5 pro price tag. They came up with a downgraded series x console with no upgrade and no disk drive and then slap a £600 price tag on it. Do you expect a more powerful and advanced console to be in similar price rage ?
Might sell my Base Ps5 to buy this but I can't, I made so many memories with it...
Damn, the sony ps5 pro propaganda is in full force, fools in the comments here are soo ready to waste their money. People like you guys are the reason why companies can release products at such ridiculous prices and still get away with it.

How’s the gpu pricing working out for you these days?
@@jeremykane2824GPU's give you an instant performance boost in every game though.
The performance of the PS5 Pro isn't the problem. It's the fact that you can't allocate the performance where you choose and your relying on developers making Pro patches.
There is only gonna be like 50 games that support the Pro, but there is literally thousands of games.
The way they hyped the ray tracing improvements, I thought we'd receive path tracing in most games...

$800.00? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Good for u i got hosed it wouldnt let me add mine to cart i was in the que on the site 3 minutes after it went live couldnt add anything to the cart but I have real bad luck so it was expected
No they didn't.
How do you say that when you haven't even used it or seen it yet? Don't be a fan boy
Digital foundry might as well rename themselves Sony foundry
they used to uptalk MS and xbox a lot but considering where xbox is now, what do you want them to do? do nothing?
still waste of money

In Norway. A ps5 pro with disc drive cost 1106 dollars. Compared to regular ps5 at 562 dollars.
Is this a good price, considering the average income in Norway? In Brazil it costs R$7,000 and the minimum wage is R$1,400, simply absurd.
@@rogerionascimento5580It’s very expensive. It’s not a good price in my opinion. Performance and graphics are very important to me but I’m not sure I want to buy the pro considering the regular ps5 with disc drive cost so much less.

No most people just don't think it's worth it. $700 isn't actually that much money.
People with real money will be spending $3500 on things like the apple vision Pro.
The big problem with the PS5 Pro isn't the performance it's the fact that your left hoping that 3rd party developer's support it and actually put effort in to that support. Not just rasing the resoloution slightly and slapping a Pro sticker on it.
1152p on the pro 😵💫😵💫😵💫 but that one guy on TH-cam said it was better then a 4090 😂

So I guess no more new games are releasing this year or the next? "For good" lol. The PS5 Pro will be outdated next year when the 5000 series GPU's are released.
5060ti will beat it comfortably.
@@TheJamtarts1 I don't understand the logic that a piece of tech becomes unusable when something more powerful is released. Could you elaborate on that?
@@anssiaatos Because that's how tech works. You said "ditch your hardware for good" which means the PS5 will last you forever. It will last 3-4 years at most until the PS6 comes out.
Like I said the 5060ti or maybe even the 5060 will come out in 8 months or something and be stronger. Will also only cost around $399 for a 5060ti.
Yawn same old games.
Then in 3 years buy a new PlayStation so you can play Fidelity Pro at 60fps.

PS5 PRO 👑
Ps5 pro is a scam
PC gamers trying to justify PC over PS. Not only do you need to spend £300 more just to get a similar experience, they forget that game developers optimise games for PS consoles first. Also PS gets their exclusives a year before PC. I have both and use my PS 95% of the time. Most PC gamers are overly obsessed with frame rate numbers and forget about ease of use and enjoyment factors.
All that is negated by the stupid monthly online fee PS players have to pay. PS even hiked the price of that fee recently, which made me cancel my subscription and I game exclusively on PC now.

Take your meds Ryan. Where is your dad. The ceo of sony. Wheres your dev kits you claim to all have & your 4090? Where are they Ryan. Lmaoooo
if there's no competition in a market, then Sony will overprice and continue to overprice everything including their consoles, ps plus, etc etc because you have no other option to go for and everything will get so expensive to the point where you'll become broke. also, if sony has no other competition, they don't have to care about their consumers either so they'll give you even less features and updates and stuff. see the problem with that?
Lastly, you fanboys make me laugh. Do you actually believe the video game industry cares about you? You all are weak beta simps posting embarrassing undignified slop like “SONY IS TEH ROOOOLZZ AND MICROSOFT IS TEH SUXXXORRRZZ!!!” or vice versa without any hint of self awareness, emotional maturity or self respect.
