When you were talking about expereince working in retail dude!!! I felt that to the core!!! Thats my everyday right now specially with covid shots and tests ugh! The technicians be calling off and Im a tech on training. Still learning and it was only me and the pharmacists the other day and I wanted to cry for real
😩😭Aww man sorry you’re having to work like that!! It’s definitely not fun and can be overwhelming. Seems like they need to do some more hiring 🤣 but look at you holding the pharmacy down all by yourself and your still in training 🙌🏾🙌🏾 YOU GO!!! 🤩🤩
@@daedrenashay4947 A family friend works at the hospital and told the head pharmacist to pull my application and give me and interview and I got the job. Mostly everyone there got hired because they knew someone in the department or someone who works there. Like they say it’s more about who you know then what you know!
I just got an offered a position to become a Pharmacy Technician and I am very excited and anxious at the same time. I ran across your channel and I instantly subscribed! I will splitting my week working at both a hospital and community based pharmacy. Both of which are speciality pharmacies.I think I got pretty lucky to be able to spend my time both in a hospital and retail setting . All in all I just want to thank you for such a positive and informative video. And I want to wish all of us in the pharmacy world ( no matter if you’re just starting or have been working for years) continuous good luck throughout our journey😊❤️🍀
That was so well typed and so so sweet thank you!!! Also that’s amazing you get that experience working at both specialty pharmacies, what are some things you do? 😀 Yes wishing good luck too all of us in the pharmacy world too 💛❤️🥳🥳
Great video Drica, I initially went to Everest Institute in 2008 for pharmacy technician and graduated. Didn’t want to work in retail pharmacy after my externship cause retail customers are the worst. Just got hired at CVS for $13 this month and waiting on state pharmacy technician license to get issued. It’s taking so long here in Georgia. Thanks again for great video…
I work at Walmart In Washington State as a Tech in Training. I take my National exam on the 14th. I wish I would have your Chanel months ago 😭you have such great tips. I got your cheat sheet. It really helps me since I am learning it on my own.
😍😀Aww thank you so happy my cheat sheet is helping you!! And yay🙌🏾🙌🏾🤩 wishing you good luck, you got this!!! Also I believe Walmart will reimburse you the money for your exam so make sure you keep your receipt 😉
Thank you! I’m a tech as well, we are so overlooked and we are not respected. I’m certified and have both retail and hospital experience, so this I know all too well.
Hey D, I'm in South africa training as Pharm assistant. But I'm planning om moving for 2-3yrs and working overseas. What test do think I will need to do before moving. Will I need to have years experience? I'm 32 now will my age affect me? What are the working house like?
Hii 😀😊 that’s so exciting!! So you can start studying for your PTCB exam. Some states don’t require you to go through a tech program. And girly no your age is perfect I wouldn’t worry about that! Every job is different most retails are opened from 9am-7pm some are 24/7 hospitals really depends too
i recently got rejected as a pharm tech at rite aid at my city and it was bc i dont have my license. so i want to go to school for it but the hybrid class which is online & in person in my city is extremely expensive ($18k without fafsa, $11k with fafsa) so i decided to turn to online resources for it but im hesitant bc even thi they’re way less cheaper and affordable idk if its a scam and if its truly recognized by the PTCB
Hey hey! So sorry about your rejection, but don’t stress better things are coming! Yes finding a online program and making sure it’s PTCB and accredited is very important. I actually have a video where I show you how to verify if the online course on PTCB websites you can search any course! th-cam.com/video/rZcfAPSIcGQ/w-d-xo.html Also have you heard of Living World online Pharmacy School? They have a 15 week course, I know two techies that went through it and passed there exam😀 I’m actually partnered with them so I can help you sign up! th-cam.com/video/XzFy1px5Iok/w-d-xo.html
I was able to get hired at Walgreens with no certification. I just applied and got the job. I’m assuming it was my 5 years of retail experience. But I would still try applying there. They will also sponsor you for certification
Do not do this. This is a scam for sure. We do not get paid enough to be paying 11k for school just to be a pharm tech. You can self study and get hired by places like Walgreens and they will sponsor you for classes and taking the PTCB exam. Please do your research before deciding to do this. I know so many young women go into this field super infatuated with the idea of being a pharmacy tech without understanding the realities of it. It is a low paid, high stress job a lot of the times. If you are supporting yourself this job is not sustainable long term.
No, but I would love too! It’s just hard having a full time job and a two year old lol 😭 but I do help answer any question through email and on Snapchat/Instagram 😀
What do you mean? It’s a pharmacy Technician Q&A lol I’m just answering questions that was recently asked. I have other videos where I help and talk about the PTCB exam.

It has seriously been so bad and creates a toxic environment. And the work just keeps piling on I am so sick of retail pharmacy.
