THANK YOU!!!! I've seen this solution before, but NO ONE would talk about WHY they were doing it!!! My 2014 was definitely FIGHTING ME on LEFT TURNS at 35-40MPH.... THANK YOU!!!!!!
Cool stuff. Your intro explanation about why this can happen is probably what happened on my taco. It's factory lifted BUT my wife got tires bigger than factory spec. Usually we drive it slow. A month or so ago I took it around a corner fast to get into traffic and the light came on and never went away. Now I'm suspecting it was the larger tires combined with the quick turn that set off the VSC. I'm going to find a wire and give this a shot.
@kvasir119 it sure surprised me the 1st time it happened too! The interesting thing is that I already had my lift and wheel spacers on the year before going around that same curve over and over again and it never did it. Put the bigger tires on and went around the same exact curve like I had before and skerrrch-beeeeeep, and I was going into the other lane!!
Bro this is clutch. Replaced tie rods and could not for the life of me figure out why I felt braking after slight turns and steering wheel shaking when braking (suspension components are good). Gained a sub
@ShawnMartinNCBIRDMAN it's a 2016. I imported it from Japan with 35k miles. They come from Japan with zero rust, every fastener is still perfect underneath. I took it straight from the port to get treated with Dinitrol underneath to protect it as we put salt on the roads here sadly.
@user-cn8vb9hh5z oh yeah that's not good about the salt! It would be cool to have a vehicle imported here that we didn't get in the US!! Like the Hilux.
Hello I had changed my toyota fj 2007 brake pump And unfortunately the model don’t match my breaks working fine but the vsc off & vsc trac lights still on Can you help me !!
@superslayer6821 I was hesitant to say it works (too loosely) with other Toyota models for fear it might damage something if it's not wired the same as mine but many people have commented here and in Facebook groups that it worked on their non-Tacoma models as well. Which is great! Thanks for the comment.
Awesome and useful video! My truck was driving me nuts with it wanting to go into the other lane when turning with 35s. I just did the reset so hopefully it will work for me as well haha. Thanks!
Hey have this same problem with my 2006 Toyota 4 runner. Whenever I take a hard right or left or even on the same turn you took in the mountains it does the same thing where it brakes while I turn. We tried to replace the entire front and back abs wiring system and that didn’t work. Been trying to figure it out. Will try this out to see if it fixes my problem. Any suggestions?
@chrisavent8012 someone else replied and said this worked for their 4Runner. Even if you asked a dealership to do the VSC reset for you, it would be worth it. Sucks all the suspension work was done. I guess it's all new now but maybe not needed.
@jlk63 not sure but try it without pushing the brake pedal. My 07 Avalon is push start too and I'd guess it would need to be in the same "position" as the key on my Tacoma would (off-acc-on) mode ad in the video to compare.
@dizzle215 I mention it in the video, but Toyota programs parameters in the vehicle to check to make sure that the stability of the vehicle is solid, more than likely as in centered based on sensors in the vehicle. I'm not sure if they are like a gyroscope or what, but these relay information to the vehicle that the stability has been compromised and it tries to regain control by stopping the vehicle. For instance if you were off road and these parameters changed suddenly, the vehicle would try to stop so that whatever hazzard you were facing would be minimalized. I'd have to dig deeper to see what the parameters are if anyone knows, but since I had the exact symptoms mentioned in the Tacomaworld writeup and doing the reset fixed my issue, I left well enough alone. Thanks for the reply.
Thank you so much! I followed the steps in your video and everything matched up perfectly. I had this issue with the steering wheel sort of locking uo going about 60 miles an hour around the corner, so I’m pretty happy to hopefully have addressed it now. Thanks again!
@@dizzle215 that's awesome! Yeah, I found myself taking the same corner with a little hesitancy yesterday, just waiting for it to do it again, but it never did!!
Can you make one video on Avalon hybrid XLE 2013 , its showing the same plus showing me to chevk my hybrid system along with showing me check owners manual
@jascam1 are you saying while I'm inserting it in during my count while I'm showing the dash so you can see what happens when the lights change their flashing?
My 09 has done this a dozen times. First I thought it was because my trailer was a little heavy but then I was noticing it while not towing anything and like under 40 mph on the highway. I think this should be some kind of safety recall because it's extremely dangerous. It puts you into a skid and your going into the other lane. Always on a right curve and Truck is skidding into traffic. I never felt I was driving to fast and when it was doing it without towing and under 40 there is definitely an issue. Hope your fix will take care of it. I just wonder how many are experiencing this in there Tacoma? Btw my tires are stock.
How should that be a safety recall when YOU are changing the OEM suspension dimensions with larger tires or suspension??? It is clearly stated that a VSC reset should be done with an alignment or any changes to the suspension. You make a change to the suspension that causes the truck to not react the way it's supposed to and you want a safety recall??? LOL
Nothing has been changed on the vehicle recently? Sounds like a wheel speed sensor isn't working so the PCM is putting it in a limp mode to keep you from driving til you fix the issue. I would honestly disconnect the battery and see if it was a stuck log 1st, then have the wheel speeds sensors checked and lastly it could be the neutral safety switch.
@@ShawnMartinNCBIRDMAN so what I did was try to install a CarPlay radio and didn’t disconnect the battery so some fuses went out my friend changed a couple but we don’t know where the abs fuse is or if it’s blown, he kept saying to reset it with a OBD scanning tool and it would come out of being stuck. What do you think?
@-qd3dv I've been told the wiring for the OBD2 is different above a 2019 Tacoma, so it might not be worth the risk to try if the wiring is different...?
I tried this twice. I have the exact same issue but only turning left one a switch back road. Please I need your help. NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT THIS ISSUE!!!!!!
@DavidBalser-g6k I haven't heard of anyone saying they had to change the method but I did mention in the video that sometimes it takes more than 8 times to reset but if you saw the dash lights do the same thing mine did then it reset. Another person; gomez, replied and said theirs was in left turns too and this method worked for them. Maybe you have an issue with a wheel speed sensor wire getting pulled in left turns.
I screwed up possibly as I couldn’t reach the plug easily in my 4Runner and didn’t complete process. Now all the lights are on and it’s saying the speed sensor is disconnected. Should I try same process again will it clear this?
@RB-er2li I can't say for sure but it might be best to disconnect the battery for a bit and then reconnect it and try the process again. I am not familiar with whether not finishing the peocess entirely in 1 try creates an issue that can't be undone by trying again. My 1st thought would be to try again. In my experience I didn't get a chance to see it not work then try again, mine worked the very 1st time, which I was recording as I did it in my video.
THANK YOU!!!! I've seen this solution before, but NO ONE would talk about WHY they were doing it!!! My 2014 was definitely FIGHTING ME on LEFT TURNS at 35-40MPH.... THANK YOU!!!!!!

@thegunner_7 such a strange "safety" feature that throws you into the other lane eh? Glad you found it. Mine hasn't done it again since.
