    Due to a wet windy forecast on the hills we opted for a chilled out beach camp on the Ayrshire Coastal Way in the 3F UL Gear Taiji 2 tent. It was a chance to get a first night with two of us sleeping in it to see if it is as big and comfortable as I hoped. Hopefully it would rival the likes of the MSR Elixir 2 and the Big Agnes Copper Spur but cost a lot less. If you enjoyed my video please consider buying me a coffee at www.buymeacoff... Every little helps and thank you for your support!

    The Tiaji 2 is a good quality tent as good as the cloud peak 2, everyone loves the 4 seasons khaki, especially in the UK and France.😁😁😃😃😀

      Its a great tent, if they would just add more pockets it would be near perfect.

    Quickly becoming my favourite tent this one. I had it in harsh weather and it did really well but be interesting to see it in higher winds. Nice to see you still getting use out of the table 👍

      It's the comfort choice for me and the missus and does a great job, that tent.
      So does the table, still going strong when we're both out. Solo I just can't take the extra weight and leave it at home but thanks again! 😂

    A nice chilled camp Andrew , the tent suits that type of camps nicely . Colour blends nicely in and yeah probs not suited to mountains camps lol . Your own little paradise for the night 👍 atb Dave

    here in Indonesia we got the same design of tent but different color and brand. Maybe it's an OEM so people can have their own brand with the same design as long as they met the buying quota lol
    my experience with this tent design is not very satisfying as it's leaked from the part of the clips that connect to the frame (the seal inside the tent not covered the bottom of the clips).

    • @AndrewParkOutdoors
      @AndrewParkOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I took some time to seal those bits as I find they leak on lots of tents. Haven't used it in a real downpour yet tho ! ATB A

    Great video Andrew and the drone footage gives it that much extra. I love my taiji 2 but I too believe it could do with a gear loft for extra storage.

    • @GrizzlyGaz
      @GrizzlyGaz 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AndrewParkOutdoors yeah pretty rough but I don't carry any of the gadgets to know how windy it is but it's certainly waterproof and holds up pretty well. Although I've done some mods to mine to make it stronger in the winds 👍

    • @AndrewParkOutdoors
      @AndrewParkOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes the double guyline is a great idea , not sure I'd use it in rough weather to be honest as my wife wouldn't go so I'd end up using my smaller tents.

      @@AndrewParkOutdoors I like a bit more room if I know the weather is gonna be crap. Nothing worse than stuck inside a tiny tent for 16hrs! 🤣

    Nice video, nature hike and 3f ul tents look ok, toying with the idea of a cloud peak to use in windy conditions as the MSR can’t cope, I have a Vango mirage that handles the wind perfect so is it worth the 500 gr saving ? I wonder,
    Anyway what a spot and beach,
    I must be getting soft as I put off some walks if forecast bad , yet I should expect the wind and rain living up here !!
    Keep em coming

    Hi Andrew, what's this tent like in wind?

    • @AndrewParkOutdoors
      @AndrewParkOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've only had it in strong breezes so far , slight wobble and that's it. I still think the panels are too big to take mountain winds tho and I'd be nervous pushing it.

  • @bidufree
    @bidufree 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    At the end of the video you say that the packed weight is 1.8kg, but in a review you say that the tent is 2.2kg: th-cam.com/video/-Y6lDUfH2Ho/w-d-xo.html

    Even if you remove the footprint, which is 200g, you still have a tent that packs 2.0kg. What else did you remove? 🤣

    • @AndrewParkOutdoors
      @AndrewParkOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes good point , the specs on the website I used are for the 3 season without footprint I reckon, just weighed ours at 2.1 with footprint so 4 season without footprint is about 1.9kg , bearable for two :-)

    • @bidufree
      @bidufree 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AndrewParkOutdoors Sorry, but I don't understand. Do you mean that the four season version is lighter than the three season version?

    • @AndrewParkOutdoors
      @AndrewParkOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No I think the 3 season must be about 1.8 without footprint , our 4 season seems to be 1.9 without or about 2.1 Inc

    Apart from some scenic views I didn't really find anything of interest in this video. Didn't understand the aim. Was it a review of the tent or what? If it was a review of the tent in field conditions then I'm none the wiser.
    I had high hopes for this channel when I started watching, but it has turned into a series of overnights with odd little tents and not much else.
    So I'll unsubscribe and wish you well.
