PID is freeware too, but us Windows users need the Marathon engine port (the faithful one by W’rkncacnter) if we don’t want to emulate OSX as the modern port of the original Pathways into Darkness remains Mac only unlike Marathon. Marathon Eternal is a mod for the third game on Aleph One (the sourceport that lets us Windows users play it) but since there’s never been a new Marathon game since 1996, it may as well be Marathon 4. I’m on IOS as I type this but once I’m on my PC I can provide you the link to Marathon as another reply. Fun fact! Use the host time scale command to fast forward through unskippable cutscenes.. I like what they do and I like that they did them but every time you play it, especially this one you might want to go through it a little quick.. fortunately, thanks to the fact that this game is not modern, you have a console with commands that you can use.. not like Doom 2016 or the new Wolfenstein games where you have to get an executable that's been hacked in order to use the console commands.. you can use the console commands just as is! Host_timescale 0 to whatever number I'm sure there's a maximum.. I'm also pretty sure you can't go in reverse but I've never tried it but that would be kind of cool I just thought about.. that being said I do know a mod for Half-Life 2 that lets you do that.. so who knows.. important thing is, if you're locked in a train to start a new game and your OCD like me so you want to canonically go through the whole thing rather than just loading the level that starts the game pass the intro which you can also do.. fast forward time.. pretty sure that's a Carmack thing but it also kind of doesn't explain why no one can tell me how to get Doom 3 to run past 60 frames per second.. but I'll figure it out eventually.. unfortunately, the current knowledge that Google wants to give me is limited to people that think that if you visit cap your frame rate at 60.. that counts as running it faster than 60... The important thing is.. well the base game in its base form off of an old Sierra CD.. may not be able to do any of this in similar or functional way.. there are many options! And all of them need you to adjust the weapon fov and regular fov in order to have the same field of view perspective in widescreen, rather than cropping the screen.. which people that make videos on the internet don't seem to comprehend anymore.. but at the very least it's in the right aspect ratio.. I suppose I should be thankful for that.. but it feels like.. I feel like people that edit video should know these kinds of things for some reason.. Grandpa may not care and Grandpa's going to die soon anyways.. but you'd think Timmy would, because Timmy has access to video production software.. and publishes them in to public.. Perhaps Timmy is one of those people that won't look at the controls in the menu or change any of the settings that he doesn't like, while still complaining about them.. and in all fairness, the most recent 2020 update to premiere pro actually doesn't list several of the important keys or let you bind them.. in fact they don't even list them in the PDF or anywhere on the Adobe website.. to learn what the basic mouse buttons do you have to go to Reddit.. and that's the last time I'll say something on Reddit actually has reasonable information.. because I think it might be the last actual useful information that is actually on Reddit go figure LOL.. I'm not sure if this is 2004 knowledge, cuz that could actually make some sense given running things faster than that was complicated back then and expensive.. or if it's modern knowledge because people are stupider now and the internet no longer tells truths rather it tells whatever I felt like saying at the time but I'm going to answer all of these posts with something.. because, I'm helping!
