    i always put my valve caps on while carrying the spare tube to keep the valve from attacking the tube. i also electrical tape over the battery terminals for safety green is fresh and red is dead. love that sleep pad, i bounce between it and the foldy one depending on packing situations, i do like how you can use the folding version with a little more ease are versatility but the rolling ones seem to hold the warmth rating longer. love the set up vids and set up reviews after a trip are really important.

    Great review of JP's gear! Getting dialed in is such an important, yet confusing task! Not bad when you leave your house and test your gear, but to be without that back up of home comfort, selecting the choices, and back-up plan, KEY!
    I am still questioning how anyone would keep their feet dry crossing a creek, with water levels above the boot line! I've just had my feet wet so many times, nothing dangerously, but aren't you just hoping for the best with the gear Jay described?
    Thanks for taking the time to interview Jay again, Allan! Loved it!

    • @DirtyTeethMTB
      @DirtyTeethMTB  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      James, thanks for watching and commenting :) Much appreciated. I've never needed it yet, but do have friends using the exact methods that Jay has described to stay dry in shin-high ice-cold creek crossings... sno-seal and shoe goo on the boots, two sets of vapor barriers, gore tex gaiters, gore tex rain pants, ski straps around the leg... maybe next winter, I'll test it for a video? sounds like a fun one! ride on :)

      Hi Jeff, he had that custom made years ago... actually he had 2 made years ago (Jacob borrowed the other one)... the biggest I've seen is 44L by hyperlite... Jacob was gonna use the 35L sea to summit, but switched to JayP's bag at last minute... sorry I can't help more!

      Hi Bob, the bag for his sleep kit was custom made, years ago... I believe it's around 45-50L... I'm pretty sure Jacob found something similar on Amazon, though... many people ask so I'll hit Jacob up and see if I can't find a link... thanks!!
