It may be reminiscent of Genshin, but to me it feels like it improved on many of the issues that drove people away from Genshin. The endless, nonsense dialog, artifact farming, slow and confusing story at times, etc.
I don't play Genshin anymore, or many other gachas, but WuWa feels more respectful of player's time. This all may change, but for now I think they're doing well and I'm enjoying it so far.

    Pros:
    1. Running w/o consuming stamina.
    2. Running on walls, double jump.
    3. A more forgiving gacha.
    4. Good & fun combat system with break mechanics. Echo pokemon system.
    5. Lots of freebies.
    6. Skip button.
    7. Story quests are better.
    Cons:
    1. Glitches in storyline. Also we don't know what the end goal is.
    2. Echo utility are hit or misses. It's really hard to streamline echo transformation with the combat mechanics. They're mostly bonus dmg.
    3. No condensed resin mechanic.
    4. Cooking system is meh.

"...if anyone reaches the end game write a comment what it's about..." Well...
Many launch issues listed here have been improved somewhat already. Other things might never change since it's a gacha game with lots of mobile players.
Unsure when/where the endgame starts since the game is new and all... but I've hit around Acc Level60 in like 2 months as F2P? Effectively able to access and clear all current content.
Progression seems WAY faster, ressource scarcity is still TOUGH but players enjoy the game because it does respect time spent a lot better than *some other gacha* . Free gamble chances and characters are the name of the game in waifu simulators, and the devs are generous + listenting to feeback, which is why the game is seeing a lot of positive feedback.
It's still a gacha though. After burning through the total / event promoted content it turns into the daily log-in and log-out maintenance state with a couple biweekly combat challenges until the next patch. Hard to say much about the finer details like how varied and challenging the content is, the game is too new. Grind/lucky stat rolls lessen the damage and skill checks of the harder bosses but don't invalidate them entirely.
The game truly is not bad (and free duh), would recommend to try for everyone, no need to spend a life sentence there either. The combat aka actual gameplay is what makes the characters different, as they all have their own mini game which is a lot more engaging than staring at a yapping 2D or 3D model all day (story players will disagree). Black&white military artstyle may be a world building aesthetic or even the first regions identity so again... too early to tell...
The elements are a meme in that they are different colours of physical damage to inflate the grinding process - BUT actually high investments are not (yet) needed to fully clear the game at all and pretty much every character is a viable choice (so far), which is something I can't think of in (m)any other gacha, even other games of other genre honestly.
Okay yapped too much, back to gaming, Have a good one folks.~

Personally, I'd say it's still one of the better gacha games on the market right now, not that that's saying much when it comes to gachas. In spite of the severe 1.0 flaws, I was enjoying Wuthering Waves enough to keep playing even though up until a day before it's launch, I didn't even know what it was (my friend told me about it). For the little it does improve on the Genshin formula, going back and trying Genshin already shows how annoying Genshin is to play in comparison imo.

Very well made arguments. Agreed that non gacha players will not find this fun. Heck I played god of war 4 and then played genshin then immediately felt how cheap it was in most aspects. Personally I played this game after this was released since day 1 and am still playing. The hype carried me through early levels. The storytelling is better imo in comparison to genshin but the story is still weak. But in version 1.1 there are some improvements to the right directions thankfully. I don't mind the similarity to genshin as genshin itself was almost identical to breath of the wild in almost all aspects during its initial release but now has took off to its own direction. Wuwa aims for same audience as genshin so the similar UI and concepts might be easier to attract people ig. And most people in the comment talk about not having a purpose in story but I don't mind in that aspect. I mean we are some guy with no memories so ofc the 1st thing to do would be find who we are and why were we sent here. The dialog needs heavy change I agree sounds so jargon heavy and stiff at times. The character interactions are limited and yang yang clings to you for no reason whatsoever. But I still have high hopes for this game as the gameplay itself has leveled up wildly in the new patches the thing you can do have already increased exponentially in combat. I played their previous game PGR because its music pulled me but now after 2 years the game looks completely different in terms of gameplay and story both have leveled up massively. Very well made video nontheless!

And yeah, my main reason quitting genshit is their artifact grinding is just, extremely tedious and no fun at all.
Echo hunting in WuWa is one of the reasons I'm staying in WuWa. Imma tell you what makes this better than Genshin (aside that characters don't look too cartoony considering they're both anime). It's the mothafukin SKIP option on cutscenes and dialogue scenes. Some CSs are unskippable, but that's cool because they're very very rare. I hate that in Genshin I'm forced to spam the skip button on each line and here they let you just skip it altogether. Also, combat is better and grind is lighter. Hate the artifact farm in Genshin, and Echo (same as artifacts in WuWa) is fun and easier.
With echoes is almost like a mini pokemon collector game and you actually get to summon or transform on the monsters you catch. IDK man, but WuWa just kinda offers more style and gameplay fun. Don't even get me started on how you can everyone has a grappling gun, double jump and climbing walls is a beauty *chef's kiss*. I think I've explained enough on why WuWa > Genshin

Yeah, Genshin's not really original, that's kinda why I pointed out BOTW, lmao anyway to me Genshin's way of introducing the player to the world is a lot more coherent than what WuWa did. Both games have their pros and cons but right now, in this video, I generally wanted to point out the problems that games in this genre face, unfortunately WuWa, which was supposed to be a step up from the previous gacha games, didn't really bother IMO to actually "step up" instead the devs decided to play it INCREDIBLY safe by copying assets, the overall style, etc.
Like I said in another comment, all I really want is for devs who could've done better to do better. They had the capacity to make this game, unfortunately they squandered the opportunity to make a better game, and I think that's worth pointing out, especially in the current landscape of the games industry.

I think the "Audio Cutoffs" are actually a well-intended but not thought through "feature". If you enter the menu to do stuff or read through a tutorial message and accidentally interrupt a conversation in most games the line just gets cut off and you never know what the character was going to say, so WuWa instead opted to make them start the line over again... which is nice... but very unfortunate in the beginning when you still get spammed with new tutorials all the time.
To the video as a whole, well WuWa is a gacha game, that much is for sure, so yes, there are certain aspects that are very intentionally "held back" to incentivize player-retention and financial gain over delivering a "complete gaming experience" as you would expect from full price titles. So Gacha games will always compare relatively badly to such games. As a F2P experience it's very similar to Genshin, a big open world, a long story you can get involved in (or not, an advantage over Genshin lol) and a compelling combat system. So as a F2P game I would never be able to say it's a "bad" game, it offers tons of content for free, and compared to what F2P mobile games USED to look and play like 10 years ago these are indeed masterpieces xD
The only reason why I'm willing to overlook the issues WuWa has is indeed simply because Kuro Games has always been very responsive to player feedback, which is a rarity in the Gacha space and does give the game a lot of potential as long as they keep improving based on said feedback. I would say, yes, they took the basis of Genshin and improved upon it, but since Genshin refuses to innovate and listen to feedback Wuthering Waves might actually be able to deliver on the potential Genshin had but wasted due to stubbornness.

    • @THIRT33N
      @THIRT33N  หลายเดือนก่อน

I dunno, this feels like a bug more than a feature because as you can see the audio was cutting off despite the appearance of a menu but if it was done for the purposes of being able to repeat a line, it could've definitely been done much better.

Although there is a log feature in the game now, but you need to finish a dialogue and then look it up again afterwards which hopefully can be implemented DURING the actual dialogue in the future, but at least it exists now lol
And it feels buggy, especially if you have no clue why they are repeating the lines, but once I realized what caused it... I do actually like the "feature" that prevents you from accidentally losing out on dialogue if you happen to open a menu at the wrong moment, but during the tutorial stage of the game it was definitely jarring lol

Idk why but the EN dub is abit strange honestly, I'm still getting used to it, there's some that I find fitting, but there's some that...uh- Idk bro, they sound so out of place, like Encore for example

Apparently it's because nearly all the actors are British and are being forced to do an American accent. You can definitely tell, especially with characters like Encore and Taoqi. I just don't understand why they can't act in their actual accents, half the NPCs are already British

@@theflamingphoenix6986 it's more like, I don't like the voices they give to the characters, I like some like Calcharo, Mortefi, Changli, Jinhsi, Baizhi, Yangyang, Verina, Scar, Sanhua, and a few others, but there are some that I don't like, like Chixia, Encore, and a few others, maybe because majority of the characters are female, generally, male EN VAs are regarded to be better, there are some good female EN VAs, but like, they sound...off-putting to me sometimes

@@THIRT33N yeah, like you have someone like Verina, Taoqi, Danjin, Calcharo, and a few others, but then you have someone like Encore, who sounds older than she actually looks, Verina still make sense because she's older than she looks, Idk about Encore

The English dub was terrible in the first 3 acts, after that they've significantly improved it
      Especially Jinhsi's performance in 1.1
