- In kurzer Zeit entsteht mit Hilfe einfacher Techniken ein abstraktes Bild, dass auch im weitesten Sinne an eine Landschaft erinnert. Ich wünsche Euch viel Freude beim Anschauen - und vor allem beim Nachmalen!
The Umber I used, was raw Umber, but you can use burnt Umber, too, the mixtures are a little warmer then.
It's pure nature in a stormy early night! A great painting.

Oh, Greta, how beautiful! I am wondering why, though, that the white "lightning streaks" are not filled in with color over the mountains when you brush the paint over it. It seems like it would grab the color....?
Hello Sherry, I do not apply paint with a brush. The brush is well washed out, then dried. When I then stroke it over the paper and the light "flashes", it absorbs the excess water and anything else that is still wet. Then I wash out the brush again, dry it again and repeat the process.

When the paper gets wet it forms waves or wrinkles. I noticed yours did as well. How did you get them out so you could continue painting?

Normal acrylics consist of Pigment, water, some auxiliary materials and - "binder" , which ensures that the Pigments can stick to the ground. You can use binder to extend Colors or to make them more transparent, when you add it to the paint.You can use it as a glue (for Collage) or as a transparent layer between to layers of transparent paint. To varnish a painting I don´t use binder, because it remains sticky , even when it´s dry. I use real acrylic varnish.

i love your work. i've been binging your videos for hours. your technique is amazing. when you mention 'binder', is this an acrylic varnish, like from golden or liquitex?
Binder is acrylic dispersion, you can alternatively use acrylic gloss medium
so it wouldnt be like floetrol, the pouring medium, right? more like mod podge, the decoupage medium?. Sargents has a gloss medium and varnish in one. it can also be mixed with paints and leaves a really exquisite sheen when dried. there is also an artist on youtube who does textured pieces on wood. in between layers of paint he uses pva glue. i'm thinking this might work well. sorry for rambling, i have all this creativity floating around in my brain like a bag of jelly beans right now. i find your work absolutely fascinating!!!!!!

Ich steige, ehrlich gesagt, nicht ganz dahinter, wie die Risse entstehen, z.B. bei 4:20. Durch das Föhnen, das Abtupfen mit dem Papier oder ist das weisse Farbe.....? :)
Hallo, über den mit Gesso strukturierten Untergrund wird die dunkle, verdünnte Farbe gelegt, die dann leicht angetrocknet wird. Wenn ich dann mit einem feuchten, am Papier etwas trocken getupften Borstenpinsel, darüber reibe, wische ich die Farbe von den Erhöhungen der strukturierten Gesso- Grundierung. So kommt die Struktur des Gessoauftrags als weiße "Musterung" zum Vorschein.

was wird hier auf das leere Bild aufgetragen, also was für eine weiße Masse ist das bzw. woraus gemacht?
Hallo Hermi, wie aus den Untertiteln hervorgeht, handelt es sich um Gesso. Das ist ein Mittel zum Grundieren von Leinwänden (die fertig gekauften Keilrahmen sind meist auch schon mit Gesso grundiert, deshalb weiß)
Man kann im Künstler-Fachhandel Gesso lose kaufen, er sieht so aus wie weiße Wandfarbe, ist aber nach dem Trocknen abrieb- und wasserfest.
