My mom, caught my dad's eye, wearing a pair of blue peddle pushers, and a yellow sweater top. He always remembered what she wore the first time he meet her.
Growing up in the 1950's and 60's, I remember these styles worn by my mother, aunts and grandmother. This took me back to those days. Glad I saw your video. Love the clothes!
I just got a kitten Saturday, April 24th. A little buff colored Tom who I named Ruairi (Rory). It means red headed king in Irish. When I picked him out as a relative newborn, he didn’t have markings. He’s clearly a classic tabby which is that swirling bullseye design. I’m very pleased. We’re in an adjustment period now as I have two other cats and two dogs. My animals are adjusting except for my rescued female cat. She virtually hates him. She’ll adjust, but they will never be buddies.
Very interesting book. I didn't know Fruit of the Loom made all these cool house dresses. Each outfit you modeled, including the nightgowns, looked almost to be made for you.
I honestly wish that a company would come out. (Store and online) And remake EVERYTHING from 1940’s to 50’s clothes, toys, appliance, and furniture. I mean EVERYTHING. They would be millionaires due and thanks to all us vintage loving people.
You are cute as a button! You've inspired me so much on my vintage journey, thank you! It's been a lot of fun scouring the Thrift stores for vintage finds ❤
Love your program, especially the kitties. We are a multi cat family also. Have you ever come across a racoon coat? I still have my mother's from the 40's as well as a party dress from the 50's---rayon with big red roses. Gorgeous!
OMG are we on the same wavelength I love that we both just posted a fashion book look through! I looove that you did a try on too, ach I want to come just look at your closet!
That is and awesome book! Fashion, especially women's fashion, like everything else from that era , was full of such style and beauty and taste! They all look so great on you too, you look so authentic, like you just stepped out of a fashion ad from that time period! 🤩 I appreciate all things pertaining to life and style of those time periods!
My best friends grandma gave me vintage 50’s hankies that she kept. She even used them as a young girl. I’m so glad she trusts me to keep them safe. ❤️ Thanks for sharing
I would like you to do a video regarding how you do your makeup and the products you use. I have been having difficulty finding vintage dress patterns that are my size because my bust size is 38 and most vintage dress patterns are 32 or 34. I am going to try my hand at sewing vintage dresses myself. Enjoyed this fashion book readthrough and try-on, it gave me many ideas. Thank you.
Hi, Laci Fay, please do a foundation garment video or video series! I'd LOVE to know where you get your bras, waist cinched, girdles, corsets, petticoats, stockings, et cetera, and what name brands you prefer. Love your channel, Sweet Lady. God bless you and yours.
I'm so excited... I Love all things 50's women's fashion. Such a creative video. Lacy you look so gorgeous, like a perfect doll. I laugh seeing you speaking with your cats and them responding 😻🐱😍😂
This was so great! I loved getting a deeper dive into 50’s fashion! You trying on different outfits to show us what these styles looked like was awesome ☺️✨ I for one would love you to continue with this series 👍🏻
OMG. I love your channel and being a 72 year old woman, you make me feel young again watching you. I remember all the 50’s clothing and wearing them as a kid. When I was in the 2nd grade, we had a spelling test for the days and months. I happened to be wearing a huge circle skirt with calendars all over the fabric. Needless to say I and my classmates were very interested in my skirt.😂. I love the feminine clothing from the era and wish it would come back. Of course I no longer process a waistline😂. Also, my mother always put tons of starch in my petty coats. I remember by the end of the day, they were pretty itchy. Diann
Back in the 50s my mum looked just like you (minus the glasses) same hair colour and style. I love the photos of her in the full skirt dresses and skirts. I still have a vague memory of her dressed for a ball in a shimmering evening gown with a full skirt in an iridescent fabric of deep green shot with blue. It, was self patterned with a design of willow trees and Chinese pagodas. She looked stunning, that’s why I think it stuck, I must have been3 or 4 yrs old at the time. I myself was a child of the 60s , minis etc. Would love to see more from this book so interesting. 😻😎🇫🇷
It would definitely be fun to go through the rest of the book! It is a great 1950's fashion book. I love 1950's dresses and hats! I love poodle skirts, too. I know that poodle skirts were all the rage for teenagers in the 1950's. Your cats are so cute! I love cats! I have 3 cats.
Hi Laci, My Mom and Dad got married in Nov. 1952. Mom worn a dark green wool suit and Dad had a dark navy suit. They didn't have much money and got married by the Justice of the peace in Manhattan in NYC. Mom was 23 and Dad was 22, their bride and groom picture they look sooooo young. That time was a sweet and innocent time in our history. Wish that those days would come back again. Thanks for podcasts and the fun facts of that era.
I loved seeing the fashion show and clothes you have. Great video!!! Would love to see the children, teenagers and men clothes from that era. I love your clothes and you are so beautiful not just on the outside but inside. Thanks for sharing this book with us.
I've seen alot these dresses in my mom's post war photos in black and white. It is wonderful to see the vibrant colors. Mom described them but it was hard to visualize. Thank you. 🤗
As always I love your video! I love seeing the fashion actually on a human moving so we can really see how that lovely fabric drapes and moves. I also love your sponsor! I have completely switched to Native for me and my daughters! My favorite is the Lilac one and my girls love the coconut one. It is nice they sponsored you but it really is a great product!!!
@@LaciFayTheVintageGirlNextDoor love the pink and yellow floral dresses on you. Yellow suits you very well. And I hear you for the cupcake dress. I have one that is similar to cupcake (no frill layers though) and last summer I wore it just for a walk because, why not! As soon as it's warm enough... She'll be out.
You do look great in 50s clothing. As I'm watching this video, I'm making my daughter a vintage style 50s shirtwaist dress. She's graduating from college in May. She also looks great in 50s style clothes, like I used too! I still love the larger skirts & I prefer to wear dresses when I'm not working, especially in the summers. I'm also fascinated by the vintage undergarments from that time period. I just don't quite care for a bullet bra though!
Good afternoon. Great video again. Funny when cat raced by to hide behind couch. I love how in beginning it is as they knew what was going on, “can’t film without us mom”. My cats will watch how I am feeling, they know. Funny how we learn companies in business now we’re in business then. You look beautiful as always. ❤️ Have a happy week.
Love love love your hair! You did something to the color? Am I losing my mind or am I paying attention...not sure but I do know for sure...you look amazing. ❤️
I'm watching your video on my tv. So far, the pink sweater with pearls and the light brown sweater suit are my favorite. The suit is very sophisticated for the office.
