Explorer is the epitome of a jack-of-all-trades, master of none. I have many fragrances that are perfect for dates, amazing for hot weather or something else specific, but this is an all-rounder for me. I do recommend it because it's affordable, doesn't smell cheap, it's masculine and doesn't offend anyone.

You are so right. In the end it only matters what you like, regardless of what price you pay. You have to wear the fragrance & not let it wear you. Hyped scents are great, as long as you try before you buy. I recently tried Layton, Kalan, Pegasus & Percival from PDM. Only Percival tickled my fancy, but not enough for me to buy a bottle. All of them were high quality, but the vibe was not my cuppa.
Not overrated. If anything it's underrated.
Sorry, we have to agree to disagree. I get compliments nearly 100% of the time I wear this one. This projects extremely well in high heat(works great in FL), I get 8+ hours on skin & lasts forever on clothes.

I’ve had my bottle for a little over a month now and I really enjoy the scent. It’s not too strong or not too weak. Just the perfect balance, two sprays works for me and it’s a great scent to wear when it’s cold.
This fragrance will always have a place in my heart... I never used to wear fragrances until last year when I had a gift card to a fragrance store and purchased Explorer on a whim. Smelling this fragrance for the first time, I just got “it” - the love for fragrances and perfumery. My collection is now 30+ bottles (thanks a lot for the recommendations Ross!) but I still pull the most compliments with this bad boy.

Love explorer. My wife bought it for me when we tested it together on first launched. I bought it before discovering fragcom so that probably plays a factor. Love that you’re not boarding the hype train and trying to push something you don’t like on us.

This is my most complimented fragrance in my collection. Gets just as many compliments as Sauvage for me. I have Aventus but don’t wear it much because of the price. I will say, I go nose blind to Explorer. Whenever I wear it and think it has worn off, someone always ask me what am I wearing. Put it on around 8:00am the other morning, went to a t-mobile store around 3:00pm the ladies in the store said I have their store smelling so good! I thought it had worn off because I couldn’t smell it anymore
How many sprays you tend to go with Explorer ?
It's funny how different scents work out on different people, completely respect you review. For me I love Explorer, it is my signature scent. I always get compliments and my wife loves it too. I get 7 to 8 hours usually its a skin scent for the last two hours. For me when I get hot it seems to get more projection one of my personal favourites. Great review by the way it was objective and made great points.

Thanks for the review , I’m agreeing with you on this one , for me a fragrance has to bring it somewhere in either performance or a great scent , but you can’t be just “ok” at everything . It has that “aventus” vibe , I would just go with CDNIM and save money for better performance and we’ll smell is subjective 👍🏻

This one is tricky, first few initial times I wore this it smelled straight like the forest shower gel from Bath and body works. I didn’t touch it for at least two weeks then sprayed again and the scent seemed to change! It was more appealing and less harsh. It’s like the juice needed to marinate or something lol but it’s one of my favs now! Love your your reviews btw!
I like MBE, but I get a ton of compliments with it. So it must project and smell great in the air.

This grew on my. I stop smelling it on me after few hours but everyone keeps complementing for 8+ hours.
I grabbed Explorer on the cheap, hoping it would be a mass appealing daily grinder for spring/summer--and that's exactly what I got. It's not exciting, but it works in all situations and I've gotten nothing but positive reactions from it. Starwalker remains my favorite from the house because it serves the same purpose yet isn't a clone, but having Explorer on the side will definitely help preserve my bottle of Starwalker.
I tell you what I love this man! I get about six hours too but man I get a ton of compliments!
Hey Ross very fair review for all the right reasons, it is for folks who have not yet sniffed Aventus most probably a great blind buy and will not disappoint and similarly Aventus familiar people will probably not quite get its plus sides, but all in all,very few regular people would dislike this. It's a good thing i got a 1.oz bottle. I've been watching you pretty much enough to trust your judgement on certain fragrances. I haven't never tried this scent but was always anxious to smell it. We will see. 😎

When I first picked up MBE, I was head over heels for it. After setting it aside though for other frags then coming back to it, not sure I like it as much. Not even sure why. My MB go-to right now is Individuel for work and Starwalker after a shower or lounging at home. MBE kind of took a back seat to other frags I prefer to wear at work, date nights, etc..
My first wear of this I wasn’t impressed, initially thought performance was terrible too. The more I wore it the more it grew on me and the performance is actually fantastic off my skin, every bit of 8+ hours. It’s not for everybody but it’s one I now thoroughly enjoy 👌🏼

I love this scent as a refined jack of all trades as Ronald Japenga said.Its great also a deceptively good performer on me however if they made an intense with stronger projection and sillage it would be a killer.
I think this fragrance is probably best paired with the heat,
I live in Southern Cali, I might just buy a bottle as a work fragrance or to go out,
But not really to wear for a special night

Bro you did a nice review. But to me this is a straight up beast. It has gotten me more compliments than fragrances that cost 3 times the price. And I respect your opinion. Everything isn't for Everyone I've heard you mentioning about other Fragrances you feel are really fantastic that I feel totally different about. But again this is a dope fragrance. Yesterday I wore a little carded sample of this. I sprayed the entire thing (4ml I believe) on myself. Emptied it. I liked the scent, but it seemed too light. Granted this is all based on a little sample but, like I said, I emptied that thing on my neck and wrists. My wife smelt my neck about 2 hours into it and said it smelt nice but it was really really close to the skin.
Interesting to hear you get medium performance here. This one bangs for me, I generally get 1-2 hrs less than you for most fragrances, but this gives me 8+ hrs even in the heat. Love it
Same here; (batch no 03K 10J 351) I can still get good wiffs after a 10hr shift, and can detect it days later when doing washing etc, I usually get less performance on most fragrances reviewed here also.

Your right its subjective everyone has a different nose and different tastebuds, i personally love this fragrance. The opening is very nice to me but especially the dry down. My wife loves it too and she even prefers it over some beasts that i have. I don't know how people couldn't like it but thats just me lol glad to hear your wife likes it! I did smell Legend Spirit the other day at Macys and thats super nice, i'll have get that soon along with Prada L'Homme which i seen in your videos. My wife absolutely loved 1 Million Lucky after testing so we bought the gift set, that smells awesome too and i'm not that big into sweeter fragrances.

My wife also really likes this on me. I actually enjoy the opening. My wife doesn’t care for Adventus and thinks it has an old man vibe. I actually sold my Aventus for the reason that the Mrs likes Explorer. Explorer by no means is one of my favorites, but I easily think this is a great blind buy. Great video!

Ive owned 3 bottles of it. One got stolen out of my vehicle so not sure that one actually counts. What i can say is when i first smelled this i absolutely loved it and got many many compliments. As of now i feel like it doesnt perform like it used to or my nose has grown alot since then, so i dont wear it much anymore because i just have much better fragrances in my collection now. Love your videos man.

This is good, it smells good, it performs good, its versatile and its a cheaper designer Aventus style fragrance it deserves the hype imo
I like Explorer and it lasts an entire work day for me. However, I do find myself reaching for Cedrat Biose more often when I'm wanting this type of vibe.
I bought it 2 weeks ago and now it's my favorite. Smells great. Women generally like BTW.

Although I agree with you in the overall review in regards to projection and performance, I disagree with it not being blind buy worthy bro. I blind bought this and was actually pleased with it. Like u said, for the price, one can't complain about it, it's not something to over hype, but the fragrance I'd say is blind buy worthy. Great review as always big dawg. Very accurate and informative. 👌💯 quick update: carry a decant to refresh. It's what I do💪😎
I love MBE. Yes, it's longevity isn't the best but it's far from the worst. Better than average. I'll definitely be resupplying when my current bottle is done. Currently wearing Versace pour homme which arrived today. Yup, Chanel allure homme sport mimic. So good.

I'd recommend the Armaf CDNIM over this one if you want one that performs much better. The opening is a little off putting but the dry down is awesome 👌 just my opinion. I own Explorer aswell.
This fragrance is ok smell somewhat similar but creed Adventus is 👑
You won't be disappointed. I like this one and it easily lasts an entire work day on me. It has a place in my collection and I also owned CDNIM - gave it away, Cedrat Boise - I reach for this one the most, had a partial bottle of Aventus - just can't justify a full bottle anymore.
I love pretty much every Mont blanc, including explore. One of my favorite designers along with Versace. Everyone's nose is different. I just wear what makes me feel good. And feeling good is half the battle 😊

Sounds like a perfect gym scent. Been wanting to use an aventus like fragrance to the gym that is non-offensive and isn't beastmode

Be careful because it is beast mode when you first spray it. My co worker sprayed it once in the conference room at work when I sold him a bottle. I walked in to the next room and it walked in there with me and I wasn’t the one wearing it. So u will definitely turn heads at the gym. Two maybe 3 sprays at the most

Also, I highly recommend to by this, it doesn't last all day, but prefer to have short lasting, medium lasting and long lasting colognes.
I agree with you 100%. I want something in that genre I'll grab CDNIM or one of my Dua Posidons. It's pretty much one of those fragrance I spray on if I'm just going to run somewhere real quick like to the store etc. I don't get good performance at all. Not going to say it was a disappointment but it's kind of like you said....meh
Thank You Ross, now I know it's just probably how Mont Blanc's re-act off my skin ( the 3 I've tried Don't ) ...Other stuff in similar price range (Versace, Varvatos) are usually good to great with me... Yet not one mont Blanc was even good....

My ex-girlfriend loved it whenever I wore it, and I do enjoy it, even though I don’t wear it as often. Like you and others have said, there are other fragrances that just do a better job at what Explorer does.
I love it. For me it gives off 1- 2 feet a couple hours. settles a good 8hrs on my skin. My opinion its worth a try. The price is now around $90. 2024
This is my most worn fragrance next to Bleu de Chanel edp. This is the only place we disagree Ross. it’s all good lol.

I know the EDP fixed the harsh opening of the EDT, but I prefer the EDT because it has that Aventus smokiness that the EDP removed. So after the opening, I think it’s closer to Aventus than EDP
Good all around fragrance but I agree, not a stand out. Tried it at Ulta, to sample, I quickly became more interested with the other Scents.😎🤙🏽

Every time I wear this, I get compliments from men and women, bottom line its amazing, I mix it with armaf club intense by spraying 50/50 on my pulse points, then it's game over, I officially smell the best anywhere I go, but I get bored of it, but that'd with all my colognes. Advice where same colognes 2 days in a row then switch to different colognes, it keeps women guessing, some guys will make fun of you for wearing cologne period,but women always appreciate it even if they don't tell you, I remember I went out with co-workers and a femaleco worker said " you always smell so good" and I had no idea she liked what I cologne I wear.

Smells good but ur right I only bought cause of hype and honestly I don’t even think u get anywhere near 5hrs of projection,and ur bang on it sits near ur skin I own ysl y de parfum and litterely smashes Mont Blanc ysl is still strong in 6 hrs whilst this has disappeared I was very disappointed 😔

i bought this retail price when it came out in 2019 because they said this was an aventus clone, so i bought cause i don´t have money for aventus(correction i have money but i wont buy it blind )so what can i tell u guys? i have a copy of creed aventus by a house who imitates various designer frags called yodeyma , and i compared the 2, explorer is like meh to me but women really like it and it starts like aventus, the dry down is completly different, by the way i like more explorer than aventus, aventus for me is the overhyped frag
I tried this months back for about $37, also did not like the opening. Put it on ebay that night and sold it for $32. I was OK taking a little loss to try it, but I didn't care for it.

I was keen to try this and had heard a lot about it - so when I got the sample I was disappointed. However .. I believe you really have to live with a fragrance to know the whole story, but I found it quite weak , but I find a lot of fragrances weak - that others seem to find strong . It’s a phenomenon 🤔. I bought a 10ml sample of aventus and it was amazing - it just kept going , and I kept on getting wafts off of it for hours - and the scent was gorgeous and I could ‘feel’ the quality . Explorer is a forty quid fragrance .. how can it ever compare to aventus .
So what you think explorer or club de nuit ??? I mean which is better ? Or are you gonna make a review on both together ? I wait for your best thoughts

I first also was not very impressed with it, but after some wearing i like it more and sometimes i layer it with Lattafa Rave Now 😅
At the end of the intro I always fan my hand towards my nose after the two sprays😂
I either got a bad batch or this doesn't perform as good as others say. I barely smell this on my skin or clothes. I like Mont Blanc but performance is an issue for me.
Would you consider doing a head to head kind of comparison between this and Mercedes-Benz select

When I first got Explorer I couldn't get my nose out of it. It smelled fruitier than other Aventus clones that I've tried (Afnan and Al Haramain) but I got tired of it quickly as I'm coveting something a little bit sweeter atm. I wish Montblanc made a fragrance inspired by Silver Mountain Water, the clones from the companies above were phenomenal but the price tags put me off from buying one of them (They cost in Morocco double the price in the UAE).
