- Which is better, Mont Blanc Explorer or Creed Aventus? Explorer is certainly a cheaper version of the Aventus DNA (which is probably regarded as the most popular mens niche fragrance in the world) but does it have the performance and quality of Creed. In this video I am comparing Mont Blanc Explorer to Creed Aventus and asking is it worth buying?

The reality is, 99 per cent of general public wouldn't even know you're wearing a very expensive niche fragrance. So Mont Blanc wins.
You're absolutely right. Lets be honest thought. Many people who own Aventus like the idea of having an expensive fragrance and having cheaper "clones" doesn't sit well with them so they kind of shrug them off and say how they aren't as good for whatever reason. They know that it's expensive and most people won't have it. I personally don't care about that and i'm going to wear what I like.

It's more about how much you like the scent yourself tmcouod care less about what the price of cologne is in terms of impressing others.
I bought two bottles because it is just that GOOD! It is not unique to everyone but it is for me because I don't have any pineapple fragrances, until now. I am still waiting for my order to arrive. I have CDNIM and that smells a lot similar to Terre D'Hermes EDP and that I have all ready.

Kaffir I’ve been wearing Aventus for the past 2 years only a handfull of compliments. I get a lot of compliments on Acqua di gio profumo whenever I wear it. I went through my 1st 3oz bottle of Aventus in 8 months and am considering getting the 17oz bottle because I enjoyed the scent. I spray my pillow and blankets with it every night.
Creed Original Santal (2005) copied Montblanc Individuel (2003), as it happens. This is pure revenge! ;)

As someone who has worn both, I can honestly say I prefer Explorer. I only have a decant of Aventus - can't afford $400 a bottle - and I guess it must be one of those "weak batches" they talk about, because the performance of it sucks. My Explorer lasts much longer. I think the reviewer, and a lot of people, just like to hate on Mont Blanc for some reason, but I love their fragrances. And Explorer is excellent!
@@tomg3797 i agree it does not smell like vintage aventus but compare it to current aventus its the same weak smooth and very pleasant barely projecting. I prefer club de nuit intense man to current aventus. The opening the projection (room filler) and it has better longevity. My friends are familiar with aventus. I went to the barber's and everyone in there said your wearing aventus its nice. I remained quiet thinking what do you guys know. Cdnim is a great cheapie. Explorer is gonna become a timeless classic. Explorer has ambroxan in its dna its a note people are becoming familiar with due to dior sauvage. I can see why you think they dont smell the same

I own both Aventus and Explorer and have been wearing Explorer a lot recently and it is great.
Is Aventus better? Yes.
Is the difference enough to justify the price difference? Not in a million years.

I own both Aventus and Explorer. Aventus has a few more layers, yes but it doesn't last as long as I expected. Explorer isn't exactly like Aventus and takes it's own direction, which I like very much. I like them both for different reasons. Explorer was named best new fragrance for 2019 by Fragrantica, so I guess it has been given recognition by others and I would buy it again.
I bought aventus ... not sure which batch it is .. I didnt even know this "batch thing" existed ... it last so few hours, maybe 2-3h, or less ... then it simply disappears ... for me at least ... not really satisfied
I think all youtubers say the same thing about explorer i work in a perfume shop and more then half of the pepole that come in to buy fragrance and get the chance to smell explorer fall in love with it , it has been are number one seller regardless of smelling like aventus pepole that dont know as much as frangrance as we that watch these videos smell explorer love it

These new frags are girly. So when explorer came out i fell in love. Its so damn masculine compared to these overly sweet smelling frags of today.

Even though Explorer is far from being original in its scent, it looks like Mont Blanc is moving lots of bottles of it. It's commanding pretty strong prices online and they're running out of stock on it all the time. The Aventus-like opening and the Sauvage-like dry down must be a good formula for mass appeal.

I haven't got a bottle but smelt it in duty free and it definitely didn't smell "watered down" at all! Would you recommend it? I had a sample of aventus and the PP clone but I feel like it doesn't last long at all on my skin
@@georgemachine328 I would say if you cant afford aventus buy explorer. if youre able to afford aventus buy it instead. I say this because a lot of people end up wasting a lot of money trying to find the "best" clone, but once you have the real deal you feel the need to get clones. if you want a bottle of aventus for a good price I know a guy. just look me up on Facebook "Daniel Pina"

Same with me WHAT'S NEXT. I will never pay £100+ for smelling nice but Explorer really does it for me. Just the smell it lets off once applied but then as you say I wear it throughout the day and the smell throughout the day is beautiful

After watching this I went to buy 100ml Explorer for USD $58
It may not have the longevity of Aventus but at this price u can spray few times throughout the day to keep the scent fresh
As someone who has worn both, I actually get better longevity out of Explorer.
I have Aventus batch 19P11 (strong on the bergamot note) and I just picked up a 100ml bottle of Explorer for $43, and I honestly prefer Explorer to Aventus, just my preference.

I have both ...I like this for casual wear and it has good performance for me ( gets compliments) but wear Aventus for special occasions. Great honest review again though. Cheers

I think Mont Blanc Explorer by itself is good fragrance. It reminds me of Aventus right away but I wouldn’t say it’s a clone. It is pretty smooth and nice.

I tried Explorer in the store and immediately fell in love with it. Couple of weeks later, I bought it and I'm super disappointed with the performance. On the test strip, it was decent and had a good longevity. On my skin, I honestly have the feeling that after 2-3 hrs this fades completly and has zero projection after this time. Even though I really like the smell, I don't see any point in wearing it with such a low performance... Great review from you, you nailed it!

Just smelled Explorer recently and liked it so much I bought a bottle. I think it smells very close to the original Aventus (owned a bottle at one point) without being so in your face. To me, Aventus is strong and heavy, and with the ambergris, it can really be too much for some people. I think Explorer tones it down enough, in price and intensity, to make it a really likeable fragrance.

In a world where people not only can not afford to pay....but do not WANT to pay 200 and plus for an aftershave (which i do think is ridiculous) i think clones are a good thing. I don't care if the aftershave makes my tea for me. The prices are ridiculous
I found it very nice and long lasting, at an affordable price. Im sold on Explorer de parfum.
Based on my experience, Explorer reminds me of some of those covers that sound much better than the original!
opening experience can be similar based on strong Bergamot but after 2/3 hrs Creed became more sweet and Mont blanc more earthy and spicy and definitely leathery.
Unfortunately Creed didn't last more than 2 hrs on my skin meanwhile explorer lasted for at least 4 hours.

@@Skvffed Sorry, I cant give u numbers, I ended up not using Aventus for parties (which we need to last longer). I bought another one, the Perfums de Marly Layton. My friend and I went to a party ... at 4am mine was still there, his Mont Blank Explorer wasnt ... so we have to chose wisely when going to a party, I would not use Explorer or Aventus, maybe there is a better version out there. But I prefer Aventus, in terms of smell, freshness versus Explorer.
The thing about it is, in department stores like most American cities have, (Dillards, Macy's, etc.) Aventus doesn't exist, along with most clone houses.
So for the average consumer, Explorer is going to be so different than anything currently available in their local markets. So it will be loved and cherished. Until they come across someone who knows what Aventus is, and then they will be like, "Oh, I got this for a bargain compared to Aventus." So they feel justified in their price and their purchase.
Mont Blanc I had it yesterday and I can tell you it last very long time it’s Eau de Parfum and it definitely worth!!

The only time I have smelled or tried to smell Aventus was when I purchased Explorer. The salesman was wearing Aventus, but maybe he had a bad batch because I really could pick it up. I purchased Explorer because I just liked the fragrance not because it might smell like Aventus. I have only worn it once but so far longevity is fine and I run on the dryer side. In short I am not disappointed with Explorer. It seems like a good everyday fragrance. Admittedly, I will have to wear it more to see how the explorer story plays out.

I cant people believe everyone is saying this weaker or not as good as etc as Aventus. Maybe they have not copied Aventus but used some of its DNA....IMO I think Mont Blanc have made a real winner here. Smells feakin great. I have Aventus, more of a newer batch. I love it but does not smell like the older batches period!!!! and does not last. Scents smell different on everyone and at the end of the day its what you like.!

I own Aventus and Green Irish Tweed. And Im confused on why everyone keeps saying Montblanc smells like Aventus. Montblanc Smells like Montblanc and Aventus smells like Aventus. They smell similar but you know the difference I don't think it's a clone of Aventus. I like the Montblanc and wear it everyday. It's a good sent that stands alone.
Aventus is definitely the king. No other fragrances has brought me that many compliments. Jesus!
have to completely disagree with you, explorer wins hands down by far, aventus is proper weak now, you have the 2016 comparing which isnt fair, if you compared with recent batches then mont blanc lasts just as long, you seem to have hate towards mont blanc, maybe because it is a company. aventus is very poor now and not worth the money. i work in the perfume shop and explorer does very well so its clearly a very good fragrance. again you cant really fairly compare a frag which is £200 odds to a fragrance that is not even qaurter of the price, aventus is no longer number 1 because of being reformulated to bits to the extent that its not even worth £100. i cant help but think you had your niche head on while doing this video, no hate but being completely honest 👍
I was simply making a comparison to my 2016 Aventus as I don't have a current batch. Forgetting price, my Aventus is a better scent than Explorer (in my humble opinion). I don't think I expressed any hate towards Mont Blanc, I think they're a great brand and I stated that I feel Explorer is a nice scent and that it would sell very well for the company. I don't have a 'niche' head or a 'designer' head. I just call it how it is regardless of brand or price. I present the information and the viewer can weigh up which might be the most worthwhile purchase based on my experience (and hopefully other reviewers too).
When they come out with Mont Blanc Explorer Parfum it’s going to change the game. For 30 bucks if they just make it a little bit more potent like my man said it still won’t be as good but it will be worth it considering it’s about 15 times cheaper
I can't talk about Creed Aventus cuz I d'ont know how it smells cuz I simply cant afford it, but I can tell you about Mont Blanc. To me it smells like how they describe aventus, its smokey pineappple and I love it. Very nice but downside of it as many have said it , is the performance, roughly 4-6 hours which for me considering the price as of now I paid for it 45 euros, is well worth it versus freaking 250 euros for aventus, fuck off.
Sorry, but I totally disagree with your review. I can't afford a full bottle of Creed Aventus, but after smelling some at the Shops at Caesar's finally last year, I had to have some. So I bought a little 5ml decant on ebay. Later that year, Mont Blanc Explorer came out, and I immediately grabbed some of it. Honest comparison - I actually prefer Explorer over Aventus, and I actually get better longevity out of it. And the Creed I bought is legit - from a fairly big seller known for authentic frags. I love Mont Blanc fragrances - I also have Legend, and Legend Spirit which is SUBLIME - and I think they have hit a homerun with Explorer. It's my signature scent, and if it hits the discount bins like other MB fragrances, I will be overjoyed!

I own Aventus, CDNIM, perfume parlour clones & was put off buying explorer till now, just brought the 30ml to test & I love it. It's got something that's put it above the others imo, wish I'd tried it sooner. Great channel fella.
I’ve tried Explorer. Only the opening scent smells like creed aventus and it fades very quickly. I’ve worn a jacket in the winter with Creed sprayed on it and hand to the sky a year later the following winter It still smelled like creed.

I have a funny story to tell about Explorer.
When it first was made available to me, locally, I was compelled to see how it compared - and, actually hoping that it wasn't going to take the uniqueness out of wearing Aventus on a broader basis.
When I got a spray sample from a friendly girl who was working at the counter, I told her that I didn't think (at least in the five minutes that I was there) that it reminded me too much of Aventus to be considered a clone.
Since Creed was not sold at this particular department store, she had never tried it. Thankfully, I had a decant on me, and sprayed it onto a card, saying, "Here, this is what I wear."
When she brought the strip to her nose, her eyes lit up as she enthusiastically asked, "Oh, my God, can I keep this?" :D
That was all of confirmation that I needed.

I wish, someone could come out with a deeper, richer, niche, Explorer. That would be awesome. The reason why I choose Explorer, over Aventus, is Explorer has no birch. I really do not like the birch, but all the rest I love. I'm on my 6th bottle of Mont Blanc Explorer. Definitely try Explorer.
I get 8 hours with MB Explorer. I'll take a $40 bottle of MBE over a $300 bottle of Aventus. People around me have no clue what Aventus is or what it smells like.
I think if you put Explorer into a Creed bottle and vice versa, the Creed fanboys would tell you the “Aventus”smells so much better and the “Explorer” was a cheap imitation. To me they smell EXACTLY the same

We know it’s not as good as Aventus, I feel like everyone that reviews it is scared to give any other like scent any props, like Aventus is the mafia and will come smash your windows if you go against it! I’m able to afford Aventus if I’d like to buy it however with all the hype about it I’m steering further away from it every time a TH-camr tells me everything in the same note range is a knockoff or just not as good wtf! I bought Mont Blanc explorer the other day and for me 100% a keeper! So much so that I went back to the mall and bought a back up bottle, the stuff is good check that real good! I left home for the gym at 4:30 got there about 5 worked out for 4 hours then went to work all night got out at 6am and driving home was still smelling explorer, no bullshit, it wasn’t projecting but it was clearly doing great on skin and my car smelled intoxicating all day and night! Awesome stuff, for that price it’s gonna be a mainstay in my collection 💯

Everything you say may be true compared to your 2016 batch of adventus which you cannot purchase anymore but try comparing Explorer to a 2019 batch of Adventus which does not project or last as long as its predecessor and is definitely not worth the price! Ole Irwin seen us coming after 2016 and has evoked considerable changes in his product except for the price! Be careful! Creed is Not what Creed used to be!

Explorer to me is one of my favorites compared to a lot of fragrances I have. I haven’t yet smelled Aventus but Explorer is a very pleasing scent it’s always easy to keep a atomizer around to add a few more sprays throughout the day if necessary I give it 4 1/2 ⭐️’s out of 5. Explorer has also got me compliments whenever I wear it
I am newer to high end perfumes, and it is now January 2021, so it may be because my batch of Aventus is new (20B11N) but I don't see these being very far apart. Definitely in the initial hit, the Mont Blanc has a more synthetic chemical character but both are very pineapple. I have felt disappointed that my Aventus batch is definitely almost uncomfortably sweet pineapple. In the dry down, there is very little difference. I certainly smell a bit more complexity in the Aventus, but in a blind comparison, I would have a hard time telling the difference, it's certainly there, but the average person won't know the difference. I think to other than frag head noses, the Aventus is probably not worth the extra cash, at least not for the newer batches. In longevity, Aventus definitely lasts longer, and Explorer is more synthetic over time but not so much as the price difference would justify.
Just bought some Aventus very disappointed it seem weaker than last years or am i imagining things ?
Today I tryed for my very first time mont black explorer at 3:00 pm . Im writing this at 10:08 pm and the smelling still there and is so good. Also y have a sample of creed aventus that I tryed 4 days ago. Believe it or not mont black explorer performance is very good compared with creed aventus

I like Mont Blanc Explorer better. I get WAY better performance out of Explorer than I do out of my Aventus. I just bought Aventus so I'm guessing I have a newer batch, but it does not last. Like 2 hours max
If I had plenty of money to burn and it wasn't in issue I'd buy Aventus everytime even tho it's been reformulated. But as I'm an average joe like most I'll be more than happy with explorer

I think if you own and enjoy Creed, but recognise £270 reserves the fragrance for social/special occasions, having Mont Blank as well for workplace rotation or just wearing for myself at home, it makes it a worthy purchase. I’d rather it not exist because you’ll now get that DNA in the air more often and the mystique of Aventus is lost slightly. I’m glad I bought Mont Blank. It was very cheap and I view it as a back up of sorts, one that i’ll reach for often and save the king for when I want the confident feeling you get with wearing a niche fragrance.
Honestly who cares about the opening it only last 20 minutes anyways, Creed Aventus is overpriced and over hyped in my opinion, Enough of calling it the King of colognes because it's not, There are many other colognes that smell much better.
I agree. I smelled a bunch of Creeds the other day and I didn't get the hype! Maybe it's the frugality in me, I just don't see spending that much cents on a scent! I actually preferred the Explorer. And had both test strips for over a week.

Explorer is very similar to Aventus, not quite as citrussy in my opinion. Smells lovely BUT it's so weak! I have too put my nose right against it to smell anything after an hour or so. I got Aventus on my coat collar and i could still smell it 5 days later. Explorer maybe a good office scent where you don't want to overpower everyone.

I agree, Creed is a different breed. But with the value, explorer is worth exploring and it is an ROI. You didnt compared the tones !!!
After reading comments I think that Aventus is just way too expensive and not worth buying. If it was 1/2 or even 1/3 of its original price it might be the best selling fragrance on the market.
I had both fragrances, I feel so weird typing this... I prefer the explorer at the moment, maybe its the newer batches of aventus. But I've given the aventus to a family member who will enjoy it it more, as it lasts around 2-3hrs. Explorer as the name kind of implies it goes further in terms of longevity around 5-6hrs and if it breaks when you are travelling for work I wont be that broken up about it because of that price tag. But lets be real, I just use Sauvage Elixir these days 2 sprays and your good for 24hrs.

Xbox or PlayStation nah definitely get it. Tried it in the store today thoroughly impressed and lasts a long time with good projection. I think any bloke can wear it

If you took a bottle of creed aventus , put it in a different bottle , with a different name and said it was a 30 dollar fragrance not many people would think twice .. I bought a decant of it and wore it a few times and the only thing I liked about it was that I was wearing a really expensive cologne . It was not what I was expecting at all
mont blanc explorer must have changed lately ive had two different bottles the last few months and both have zero projection and very poor longevity ,....no matter how much you spray its just flat
When I heard this was coming out months ago, I thought not another Aventus clone! I'm personally am getting tired of the Aventus DNA. So its definitely a pass for me. Have a great Sunday Chris ✌

Explorer or CDNI?
I have ordered "Explorer" a week ago but not received yet.....so excited to spray it...i smelled it in the office on my manager...i did not sleep well that day:) i have waited till the next day to go and ask what was he wearing...why I ordered it? Simply because of its strong projection and sillage...by the way i am unable to have a good sleep as well because of EMBLEM hhhhhh which i smelled it 2 days ago and planning to order it...some also talking about the complement gathering of "LEGEND" white one which i would like to smell....a question: does EMBLEM is similar to something??

Explorer for me any given day of the week.
I'll mix supremacy silver , mont blanc explorer and zara rich leather and ill made the best creed aventus killer in a bottle. The punch of supremacy silver the mellow and smoothness of explorer and the juicyness pineapple of rich leather. It really awesome
I have creed, explorer, Mercedes-Benz select and Lamborghini Invincibile. They all smell great to me in fact I prefer some to creed. Explorer isn’t a clone I feel as it’s ingredients are different it’s a bit synthetic though, I prefer MB select spray a bit more on than usual and it last all day on me and has a great musty smell. Just testing Invincibile is a it’s smelling very better and better.
Just purchased mb explorer I've never smelt aventus and can honestly say for the money it's the best you can buy

Nice comparison. Atm Montblanc Explorer is £60, not £30 (100 ml) so indeed there are better options out there including Zara Vibrant Leather that's £20 (120 ml) and that has exactly the same take on Aventus as Explorer. Longevity on my skin is +7 hours and projection is very good for 2 hours (2018 batch) so for me Explorer is not an option.
I’m super late I own both and my wife can tell right away which is which and she loves the Aventus hands down
It’s not even close. It smelled of chemical synthetic properties. With two or three layers. With a bitter finish Tarnished metal? Where as Aventus takes it to a multiverse of layers. Unable to distinguish which is most appealing. You only know that it’s where you belong and want to be. I stumbled upon a small sample bottle. Digging through donation items being sent to the trash. Im not one for perfume. But, this stuff is otherworldly. And, the reaction from our lady friend’s is priceless.
Im all in on Explorer, i love it. Think Aventus Cologne rather than Aventus. I find women seem to prefer it over Aventus, less complicated. My go to big boy scent is Hacivat tho, Explorer for casual. A great 1-2.

Explorer to me has a harsh opening, Good scent but “cheaper synthetic” scent. Aventus is just overall clean & smooth.Get what you pay for
I’m a female. And I wear Mont Blanc Explorer for bedtime. I love it so much. Sometimes the strong projection is ideal for getting attention. But I prefer the male perfumes which make me try to sniff to get it for my curiosity from close distance when sitting next to a guy. Especially, when I wanna hug my man tightly and sniff his body scent mixed with the perfume.
Aventus is the most over-rated mediocre fragrance. I don't know how Mont Blanc's Explorer could be of lesser quality, considering Aventus smells like a £9.99 drugstore fragrance.
Mont Blanc Explorer is a very drinky scent, but its durability is terribly weak. After two hours, you try to remember exactly how that perfume smelled because it had already disappeared from your skin.
Currently, Explorer definitely has more longevity and projection than Avenuts. I haven't tested the Armaf clone, but I hear it's quite the performer.
Explorer is in my opinion a great fragrance and I’m definitely not ignorant to what’s out there.
Maybe we should do a battle video in York?

Good review and comparison. And you are right about the clones there are so many it pushes up the quality more and more because of the competition. It is scarey imagining the future tho for the next "King" and 70000 different versions instead of more creation and originality

When it comes to Mont blanc individuell it is the other way around original santal came out 2005 while mont blanc individuell came 2003 so who copied who ?? :)
