I think Din Jarin is the most balanced character to take the throne on Mandalore. He has the integrity qualities of loyalty and honour, the softer qualities of compassion and love, the hardened qualities of combat and experience, and the friendships and cooperation of many peoples across the galaxy. With all of that, he is able to think clearer and resolve conflicts between the warring tribes or clans of Mandalorians, establish diplomatic ties with various people, and forge a new path and place for the Mandalorians. Grogu will actually become an important symbol of peace and respect between Mandalorians and Jedi to be brought up beside Din Jarin - something which both Bo-Katan and Boba Fett do not seem to be able to accomplish as well.

I think its a longhost though because Boba knows that there are more people like Bo-Katan who dont view him as a Mandalorian. He would be seen by quite a lot of his subjects as a foreign tyrant rather than their actual leader, which would make his rule quite difficult. I think he will stay Daimyo of Tatooine and perhaps help Din become ruler of Mandalore

It’s going to be Din surely. He underwent the heroes journey in S1 & 2, he won the blade in combat, defended the blade from the decendant of the maker. Now he needs to go basically on a pilgrimage to atone. Unless Sabin turns up, I can’t see anyone else being worthy.

Gotta be honest the only ones I would be cool with becoming Mandolore now are Dinn or Grogu. I think it will be Dinn. He’s the only one who’s taken the time to see and understand all sides of the Creed problem. He sees Boba’s point, he grew up following Death Watch and he also understands Bo Katans sect. Once he visits the waters under the mines I think he’ll understand more of what he needs to do to unite all of his people. Then we’ll see him start down that path of truly becoming Mandolore. There’s also a ton of little things that could be hints of Grogu becoming a mandolorian, maybe he will be the next Mandolore. One like Mandolore has never seen.

Honestly, i could see boba or Din.
Boba seems to be going through a character arc entirely dedicated to challenging the concept of leadership in the star wars universe. He lived with another (albeit lesser) warrior people with a tribal structure, learning leadership gained through respect rather than power (as has been the downfall of many recent mandalorian leaders), and as an outsider by most definitions of mandalorian, he has a fundamentally different perspective that may lead to a healthier expression of the culture.
I could reasonably see BOBF ending Dins character arc with him giving the blade to boba as a sign of respect and loyalty, while cementing boba as a leader. He also seemingly matches the prophecy of the children of the watch mando cult except for the last bit, though it could be that the obvious religious fundamentalists maybe have it wrong and this will be intentionally subverted.
Alternatively, i could see Din becoming the mandalore by going through a character arc about deconstructing the more toxic parts of his upbringing, and mish mashing various mandalorian concepts to essentially remake the culture.
I honestly don't see bo-katan, mostly because i don't see them giving the title to a side character when you have 2 shows with mandalorians as main characters.

Bo-Katan tried several times, so handing her the reunification on a silver platter seems like making the same mistake again.
Boba Fett is a leader of sorts, but he lacks the ambition and cultural motivation to unite the people of his father.
Din Djarin holds the Darksaber, but he has shown absolutely no leadership whatsoever and actually cares more for his baby boy.
So we have the frustrated pretender, the disinterested daimyo and the desperado with an accidental claim.
Dunno. Between the three of them they might make for a Mandalore.
Would be funny if they popped some dark horse out at the last minute.
      Like Omega. Or Maul.

    • @blackbirdgaming8147
      @blackbirdgaming8147 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    • @pennyforyourthots
      @pennyforyourthots 2 ปีที่แล้ว +13

@@blackbirdgaming8147 that was part of my point, that system basically always leads to disaster, and with boba creating a leadership structure based more on respect than fear or raw power, it seems like it would be a good end point to his arc if mandalorians themselves came to that conclusion. Of course, this entirely depends on where dins character arc goes.
I suppose there's also that they could go where they just don't attempt unification because that always seems to go to shit, but that seems unlikely
Edit: also I just read somebody else's comments where they pointed out that Boba doesn't necessarily have to fight Din directly for it. He could lose it in a fight with some other enemy, perhaps the children of the watch allied with larger criminal syndicates like they were under Maul, in which Boba can then defeat the other person.

It gonna be Dinn, cuz he's going to learn about the importance of leadership and responbility from Boba - this is why we spent so much time on Mando's story in the show. Boba is starting anew and taking on a leadership position. Dinn is also starting anew, symbolized by his new ship and leaving his tribe.
Many years from now, Grogu, the second Mandalorian Jedi, will take on the throne, ending the long rivalry betwern the Mandalorians and the Jedi.

    Few things about Mand'alor...
By Resol'nare mandalorians were required to rally to Mand'alor, but not everyone could be a Mand'alor. Things like Darksaber (Disnely lore) or the Mask of Mandalore (Expanded Universe) were symbols, but in reality it was the prowess of the person and the support he had across the clans that made one Mand'alor. He/she had to be an established warrior, shrewd leader and have general respect of an overwhelming amount of Mandalorians.
In addition to that, there was no Mand'alor in the majority of Mando history. Mand'alore is only needed when the entire culture is at war... otherwise clans rule themselves independently.
There have been cases when clans refused to rally to an unpopular claimant which always leads to a civil war. Case in point, Mand'alor the Vindicated, Artus of clan Lok who took the title but several clans refused to bend the knee so he had to obliterate them, such as Clan Cadera.
Another such was Shae Vizla, who has two entire factions refuse her claim, the Hidden Chain and Ash'ad.
Basically, when someone claims the title, you either rally to him, or war against him.
Bo-Katan, I imagine, is SUPER unpopular among the Mandalorians. Her sister was an insult to the Mandalorian culture. She stood with the Jedi and brought republic invasion to Mandalore, ensuring Imperial subjugation of Mandalore. Mandalorians never forget... She would be considered a traitor and a pariah in the eyes of most clans.

Alternative point of view... Mandalorians shouldn't be a united people under a single leader on a planet somewhere, but instead back to the older style where they belong to smaller clan groups with tight relations that follow a similar code so they are still able to team up if needed, with some traveling space or them settling somewhere if they find a place they like. And with them sometimes training others if they find them worthy (doesn't have to be related, just worthy).

And I'm sure at some point he'll find a living Mythosaur somewhere which he can ride.
As for Bo Katan, she wants it too much. She's willing to make too many compromises which go against the Mandalorian code of honor. Before I was thinking she was the only real choice and that she's just get the necessary character development, but now with Din being an option I think he's the better one.
As for Boba, he isn't even in the running for me. He doesn't consider himself a Mandalorian, he doesn't share their beliefs and he has completely different ambitions.

but he doesn't want to rule mandalore, he rather carve out his own path.
meanwhile Din doesn't seem interested either but could grow into such a leader. especially if he has a good teacher.
like the one he just agreed to help out for free.
Boba would be a perfect mentor for Din, he has years of experience bounty hunting Din could relate to and learn from, and seeing how Boba leads during the coming war can shape how he'd want to lead.
I hope they both grow closer as these two series continue, Boba becoming like a father to Din, Boba acting as the father he lost, especially when Din is trying to protect his own son Grogu.
Din would continue to grow and possibly become mandalore and Boba would become the crime lord of the underworld as he expands his influence.

I see a bitter war between Armorer and Bo with Din stuck in the middle. At the end it will be agreed by all that he should lead like Arthur... and he will (at the very end of the show) tell them all to go to hell, drop his helmet at their feet and walk away with Grogu.

So what do you think Dinn’s name would be as Mandolore? Mandolore the Redeemer?

he already has shiny king armor so Din is the perfect candidate

I still believe that Boba Fett will ultimately become Mand’alor, but Disney may allow Djarin to become a new hero. I’m looking forward to his evolution. Btw, Trial by combat is important in any warrior culture. Meritocracy is the entire point.

You want to have a skilled general and leader, lead you into battle or someone that's just a really good duelist? A trial by combat for supreme leadership is gonna create an extremely unstable system, liable to all sorts of external manipulation and general skulduggery.

I did not think of this until I watched this video and you brought up Ahsoka beating Maul: if the Mandalorians actually followed the tradition of who rules Mandalore via trial by combat, then technically it would have passed from Maul to Darth Sidious in the Clone Wars episode The Lawless, then from Sidious to Mace Windu to Anakin to Obi Wan in Revenge of the Sith, back to Anakin in A New Hope to Luke in Return of the Jedi

I know it doesn’t mean anything but in legends Boba would eventually become Mandalore.
I think it’s still setting up for that though. Honestly I think Mando isn’t really the leader type
I mean we got a much clearer picture of Mandalore, the dark saber, and the more story about the role and how to become it in the Book of Boba Fett so I think it’s foreshadowing Boba eventually wanting to position and either using his criminal empire or leaving Fennec in charge of it

Din I think will be a great Mandalor, his child of the watch upbringing (while definifely extremist) will give him a respect for his people's traditions and culture something to unite all mandalorians under, as well as a more open minded approach to dealing with the galaxy at large. A great blend of tradition and modernity.

I still need a time frame for the night of thousand tears, I've always had this idea that the death star was headed there before the scarif incident.
