Salaamun Alaykum brother. Just a few points on the appearance of the sword.
    1. The arabs never had curved swords. All of the arab swords were straight (some double sided others weren't).
    2. Curved swords came into existence due to contact with the turks about 200 AH, who used curved sabre blades due to their horseback warfare.
    3. Dhulfiqar doesnt mean splitter or spine splitter. It means two spines. Which could translate to either two edges or, two ridges (fullers).
    4. We already know from hadiths that the handle was made up on silver rings, the pommel was silver and the guard ring was silver.
    5. We also know that the primary sword style of choice in that era was the roman spatha, with some sassanid style straight swords, however we also have one blade type that was held above arabs to be superior.
    6. In one hadith, Khalid ibn al walid r.a mentions that he broke 8 swords in battle and the last one was the only one that lasted. It was a yemenite sword. Yemenite swords actually fit the description of dhul-fiqar very closely. They have a silver round guard like a roman Spatha, then transition into silver rings, with a bottom block made of silver or brass. If you google yemeni swords you will see what I'm talking about. They also contain double fullers most of the time and double edges.
Dhul-fiqar is the greatest sword, but it never looked like this.

Aw yeah. I've always dug all the legendary weapons out there, and you don't hear as much about this one. Perhaps its partially out of respect for not fictionalizing an important religious symbol, but more likely its just due to certain cultures not getting as much focus when, say, a video game starts referencing various legendary weapons of our world.
Also I always figured Ali was some kind of great warrior but I never got any specifics. Didn't realize he went carrying around giant gate doors and such. Great stuff!

      This is Even mentioned by Sahih Bukhari: Vol 1, P 127, P 130… Vol 2, P 126, P 205

Japanese sword aren't that good, most sword enthusiasts know this, they aren't bad but functionally middle eastern swords are better, they cut the same if not better and they spring steel. Granted Europe made the best sword just because the diversity of their weapons and armor but if we are talking shear cutting power the middle east wins with no competition.

It should be understood that most legends about the Zulfiqar come from Shia teachings, who only make up 10-15% of Muslims as a whole. Sunni tradition only mentions that Zulfiqar was a sword that the Prophet Muhammad possessed, and that's the only info given. Nothing was mentioned about the sword being passed onto Ali, or that the sword was split-tipped, or that it was more powerful than any ordinary sword.

Zulfiqar likely didn't exist, and even if it did, i imagine it would be straight than curved.

ok i'll going to call pause here, this feels like a lot of this ali , and his sword legend like something that would come from um the later Aliids who tried to claim the caliphate example hassan. Basically tons of this stories are basically vigorous propaganda

Question, can anyone prove it existed? I love swords, don't care who made them or where they are from but I am biased to the European arming sword but I read many people making outlandish statements about this sword and frankly I don't believe a one.
So I wanted to know if it at least is real and simply suffering from katana syndrome meaning it's myth has gone rampant leaving facts in the dust to be forgotten. Or is the entire idea of this sword just a myth like Excalibur, of nothing exists beyond storied then it can't be seen as fact. Surely something prove its existence, a fragment or the blade itself in a museum or perhaps accounts of outside sources.

What people talk about is that the sword that is shown in the vid isn't the same sword that ali wielded. in fact this one is the same one that he was killed by. The actual one was bup serrated meaning that translation of dhulfiqar was more on the nose with the hole spine part.

This is one of the lies spread by the Persian heretics because this shape was used for daggers not swords and it is the same dagger Omar bin Al-Khattab was assassinated that's why they made Ali sword Zulfiqar's take the same shape and anyone who knows the Arabic language will see that the name contradicts the shape but this mistake is made by a foreigner who does not know Arabic "If sword Zulfiqar had been like this it would have become Zulfikartin"

The best sword was the sword of Allah. Suifullah. Ghalied bin Waleed😀 Who could break the sword of Allah. He died in his bed as a martyr because no one could break the sword of allah. Even though he didn't even have a hand span of space on his body that was not covered with scars from battles, yet no one could kill him because he was dubbed suifullah
