      @@CollagraphPrinting Last collagraph? I destroyed after about five prints because I hadn't realized how delicate they were... I love the way you can use textures in collagraphy. Similar to the floor lino embossing technique in this recent film where you can press 3-D style every last fissure. It's actually more similar to collagraphy than traditional printmaking. th-cam.com/users/shortsyi4V9kAW9ts?feature=share

    I was wondering why you cut out the tree silhouette in the main board; am I right you were concerned with the thickness th milk carton pieces would be adding to the plate ?

      Good question Kat, it was mainly to preserve the colours, I didn’t want the colours to mix in this particular piece, so I made the pieces separately

    Can you please clarify what material you are using for the base plates? Around 4:35 do you mention cutting out “inviro board”? Is that similar to the Inovart printing plate foam? Thank you very much for sharing your art and process

      It’s actually called enviromount, my apologies for getting it a bit wrong in the video, I buy it here:

    Thank you. That was great. I don't like shellac because I work indoors. Or maybe I'm thinking of polyurethane as really smelly. Anyway, can Modge Podge be used to firm up the plate(s)? I'm going to research this further because I can't tell the difference between white Elmers glue, acrylic medium, and even PVA glue. This vid gave me lots of ideas.

      Thank you and I am thrilled that the video gave you ideas. I think it’s always worth experimenting with different substances as you never know what you might find. Matt acrylic media can be used to create mid tones. I never heard of Modge Podge, would be interested to find out if it works

      It’s water based so no. It will go sticky when it gets into contact with the damp paper

    I was wondering why you made an indentation in the background plates for the trees, My conclusion was that the white line around the trees would vary because of the different heights of the background plates. Was i right ?

    • @CollagraphPrinting
      @CollagraphPrinting  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s a good question Marijke. I did it so that I would get a more even surface of the plate and the danger of having the trees just on top would be a possible big white space around them as a result

    Love the print! Just FYI, gesso is pronounced “jeso” with a j sound at the beginning. 💖👍

    How to apply colours....?

    • @CollagraphPrinting
      @CollagraphPrinting  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It depends how you approach it. Either by applying to different sections or having different plates or viscosity approach
