Long CROCHET SKIRT tutorial | DIY |BEGINNER FRIENDLY

the easiest crochet skirt you'll EVER make.Basically 2 rectangles sewn together on the sides. Highly recommend making this for a beginner project :)
Materials you'll need:
7/8 X 50g of yarn ( I use DK light worsted yarn - instructions say use 4mm crochet hook or USA G 6)
I used a 2mm crochet hook
elastic
measuring tape

How did you determine how many chains to make for the first rectangle? Was it half of the measurement of your waist?

It's a great tutorial but I do have a question because I'm really new to this how do I measure my size? It looks just kind of to small for my body size :)

Use a measuring tape, Take your measurements. Make a chain that is long enough to fit the measurement-hope this helps :)

Does the skirt end up being stretchy when you sew two sides together? Im worried it wont go up my thighs?

Rather sew the elastic into the skirt, it works better. The single crochet kind of locks the stitch which doesn’t allow it to stretch.
If you don’t have access to a sewing machine try crochet it together in sections. In 4 or 5 places but not the entire thing.
I actually made that error and it doesn’t stretch nicely
