- Originally written in 1977 by Bonnie Deuschle, Mary’s Lamb tells the story of the life of Jesus Christ through the eyes of a little girl, with the help of her mother, as they read a story together.
The track is a combination of the famous children’s nursery rhyme, fused with an anointed melody stirred up in Bonnie’s spirit while studying music at Oral Roberts University. *The video, created years later, was performed with children in mind, with her daughter Sarah as Mary, and her son Tommy, as Yeshua.
“As a student, a chaplain was teaching on the anointing. He said, ‘When you are under the anointing you can say anything and it is powerful. You can even say Mary had a little lamb and the house will fall down!’ …It seemed a bit strange, but then I thought, “but Mary did have a little lamb! It was Jesus Christ!” - Bonnie Deuschle

So Beautiful!
All you people saying "that's what it's really about" - NO. The original was literally about a girl named Mary Elizabeth Sawyer, who had a little lamb. In 1977 a Christian stole and butchered the nursery rhyme and changed the lyrics and tune and made it about Jesus.
