The middle section is like the puppy is panting after getting tired to me. It's that 2+1 rhythm that makes that panting breath sound

My man I love your content I think it is the best out there in this matter of musical analysis I wish you had more viewers, you deserve it.
I would also really like to see your analysis on maybe a chopin ballade and some pieces of the well tempered clavier maybe the whole book if you want to have years of work to do.
Keep doing videos you are the best.

      Thank you so much José!
I will do a Chopin ballade this year at least. Generally I have many many years of repertoire to do... 😅 Although unfortunately I don't feel as much home in Bach WTK as I do in other piano music. I think other musicians could do that better, for example check out Yulianna Avdeeva, she does a project with all WTK2 as live streams on facebook.
But I will definitely do more Chopin for sure! :)

What if -bear with me -, the word "minute" in "minute waltz" was to be pronounced as the adjective minute ("my-newt"), and not the noun "minute" ?
Then, it would mean "the little waltz", instead of "the waltz that lasts one minute long"...
    Just a hypothesis.

    • @caterscarrots3407
      @caterscarrots3407 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Yes, I think that was the original pronunciation and that over the years it became anglicized to be pronounced the same as the noun "minute"

Fantastic Piano 🎹 playing and analysis 🧐!
This is one of the pieces I’m working on and I struggle to master the left hand? The big jumps with my pinky finger at fast speed are challenging for me 😬.
This analysis has completely changed the song for me!
You can hear the dog barking in the notes and wagging his tail omg 🐶 😱 🤯 🎹!

Isn’t the cadence IV, I, V7, I? Not understanding the V 6/4. Btw, I read somewhere else that the grace notes in the middle section are depicting Marquis the dog’s bell around it’s neck! Such a charming and humorous piece. Chopin at his most light-hearted for sure!

I still play this waltz and many others. Always good to follow his chord progressions and even improvise over his progressions. He was a great improviser too and its something that every pianist should do as a rule. Yes he has some iim7b5 chords in there and many chromatic chords. The Mazurkas are lessons in his harmonic pallette. How about an analysis on several of them.

quick question, have you (or anyone else for that matter) ever heard rosenthal's version of this minute waltz but played in thirds?
    it is INSANE!
here's a link for everyone interested. you MUST go to 0:42 and listen to how he plays the B section -WITH- the A section still underneath miraculously somehow

Love this, very clear, I am extremely amateur, but I love Chopin but can't play it, use to go to sleep every night as a kid with these, now I can understand it and play around with it, I can understand how Chopin does it, but there is still something unique in the exact choice of key, note, inversion etc. - that's why he is Chopin, and the rest of us are not. I guess you like Chopin too! By the way I prefer your playing to the big names, it seems to me to be slower and clearer
