If you sauté de onions before you add the potatoes and water, throw in the chouriço(not sliced)boil everything until the potatoes are cooked, your caldo verde will taste even better
This is exactly how I do it. I stab the chouriço a few times so that the juices infuse the caldo even more. Once potatoes cooked remove whole chouriço and continue with purée. Add couve and chouriço. When ready to eat remove chouriço, slice and add to plates.
If you buy portuguese chourico, you can buy it at some local super markets or grocery stores in the fridge sections. You can also buy chourico at Portuguese Butcher Shops. Thank you😊

Where do you buy the chourico? What do you call that in America? Or is there another name? Or can you buy in Mexican market? Chorizo?

If you don't have a hand blender what's the other option
You can mash the potatoes with a potato masher
so good thanks for doing that!-add a cold glass of vinho verde and a bit of pao portugues and you got lunch
Hi there..... yes definitely.... pão de milho is favorite with this soup! Thank you for your comment😊
@@diywithnancyg1502 you're the best! thanks for all you do!
Thank you so much🤗
Actually making it now but I think there too much water..😅
You can add more potatos or less water. The size of the potato makes the difference in thickness of the soup. Thank you😊
