Yes, my fiancé and I are in the process of buying our first home here in central Florida. I’m so thankful to watch your videos and know we’re not alone! 😢😂 However, I received great news yesterday from my job. I was able to get promoted with more pay. This should speed up our saving process. Just keep saving and leaving it in God’s hands 🥰

I quit my gov’t job at 9 months prego, didn’t return because my son was diagnosed with Marfan Syndrome with a heart condition..I missed working and having extra income, but the thought of leaving my sick baby gave me anxiety. You actually inspired me to return to work..so I got a job working remotely in healthcare..SO thank you for that, I start in two weeks 😊

That last house floor plan looks like an amazing starter home! It definitely has several layouts that I’d want for myself and my family, but your so right! I’m in my 30’s and the cost to own a home is soooo out of reach. 😩 I was always a condo kind of girl until I started my own family and wanted a yard for my daughter. I think sometimes how on earth did my parents make it with three children and I only have one. 😩

I love your explanation on housing costs and interest rates. We are in an expensive area too and even with a decent down payment ready, we can't afford the interest rates on the expensive houses here at the moment. Hopefully we can all continue to save and buy something in a year or two when hopefully house prices go down a bit!

Visited my friend in the DC/Washington afea and I absolutely loved it….so kind of thinking of down there amongst so many other places to maybe relocate to…once I learn to drive lol
Also, keep in mind that, on top of your mortgage payment, property taxes, annual bills to the city or county (like trash and sewage), and home owners insurance could easily add $400-$600/per month to what you'll pay lumped together with your mortgage payment.

I feel like you cant go wrong with saving more money and waiting for the rates to go down. Also if you purchase in the near future before the rates drop, if and when the rates do drop, the value of your home will also go down. And then you could be a position where you spent more on your home than what it is worth.
Yeah you can’t go wrong with saving!! Well, you CAN bc if you save too long and your money just sits, while inflation continues to rise, your purchasing power actually decreases and the money you saved loses value. So I don’t want to take too too long to decide either. 😅
I love your videos! Just a heads up on the house buying thing. Make sure you find out who the construction company is before purchasing a new home or a remodeled home. Many are having issues where their "new" home is falling apart less than after its construction/remodeling.

Loved this! Great vlog :) I LOVED that coffee mate hazelnut creamer, it was my absolute fav and go to for years. I found out recently it’s OIL. It’s not even real cream. So I’ve started substituting it for Planet Oat Coffee creamer in coffee cake or sweet cream. Maybe give a different brand a try that isn’t selling their consumers oil to pour in their coffee. Cheers!
Check San Antonio! I bought a 1600 sq ft 2019 house with paid off solar in a suburbia neighborhood under 300k! Haven’t done any maintenance. But we will do preventative things to keep up with longevity. Also, San Antonio is so fun and the people are extremely welcoming!
I feel you on the home front. I have my down payment, was ready to by early next year and then this housing market has taken me out of the market for now. Hopefully prices start to decrease over next year and will hopefully be buying by early 2024

A buyers and sellers market both have their advantages. Yes, rates are high- however this is the perfect time to negotiate with the seller. Most closings I’ve done, the seller has negotiated closing cost and the sellers are contributing towards them PLUS the seller has taken price reductions.

I am in the same spot in home buying. As a single woman I want a home in a safe area without renovations but those seem to be out of my budget. So for now I am just saving.
My advice: go condo. Forego the maintenance and upkeep of a house. In addition to not buying more house than you can afford, don't buy more house than you will need.
Def looking at condos but I’m not entirely closing off single family homes. If the price is right, then I guess ima get a lawn mower 😂😂

I would definitely recomment buying a house rather than a car. House is an investment but car is the opposite. The moment you buy it, it looses up to 40% of its value. I think many people are trying to find find the perfect house but I do not think everything inthe house must be 100% as you want it, you can renovate it later. The flat I bought has an old bathroom that I renovated last year, it cost me 160k CZK but if I was to buy a house with renovated bathroom, the property would cost at least 500k more than what I paid. I lived with the “old” bathroom for two years and it was not such a big deal. Once I saved up, I was able to make it as I like it. It is alsomore exciting because now I feel like I have something new, a new room to decorate. I am currently saving up for a kitchen renovation. I think this could be a way for you as well. Car is cool and convenient so I understand wanting to have it but it seems that it is quite alright navigating without it (from the vlogs). Gas is also very very expensive these days. If I have a choice, I rather use public transport which costs per year the same amount as two full gas tanks. I still do have a car though so i have both options which is very fortunate

Yeah some ppl say it’s good to buy a cheaper home with higher rates bc when the rates go down you can refinance but the price will not change so your monthtly payments will decrease. But there’s no way to know if interest rates will ever actually go back down or if this is the new normal.

yes definitely, but I still want to be prepared, so I want to save up enough money to have more options. An emergency fund + down payment + closing costs + (ideally, some extra cash for buy down options)
