You gotta pay dues to the og if you Tryna do what the og did before you done did what you did. Big up mick for keep running with the torch after muddy passed it. Coz music is about energy not race even though sometimes I forget it myself
What’s beautiful about this clip is that we see just how much Mick and Keith just adore the blues in the most purest form. It’s to a level of childhood innocence. Mick looks almost embarrassed when he talks to Muddy Waters. It’s wonderful and beautifully innocent ❤️
This is a musical masterpiece and a timeless classic. This is an experience of a lifetime. Muddy Waters, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood, and Buddy Guy. This is a blues festival right there. This is a Gold Star 🌟 standard of blues excellence. This is something rare and special that you will never, ever hear again. This is Mick's music hero. It's amazing that he's on stage playing music 🎶 🎵 with him.Mick got Satisfaction that night.
That was the coolest jam in the history of rock and roll. Muddy waters, Mick jagged, Keith Richards, Ronnie wood and the incredible buddy guy. Amazing Amazing Amazing
@@vernpascal1531 they wouldnt have wrote those tunes had it not been for old muddy waters, willie Dixon, howlin wolf, and others. The stones were and still are all about the blues. There would be no rolling stones if they had not had the influence of Mud!
One of the greatest concerts in Chicago music history. How cool is it to have the Rolling Stones Muddy Waters buddy guy Junior Wells and Lefty All on one stage. I was born way too late. Wished I could have been there
Rich Cat21 damn right I’m 15 and don’t like to here that rap shitt the rap fan don’t like this because that ain’t a natural boy lovers man I’m a full grown ih 674 tractor driving 15 year old man
Watch the Rolling Stones on stage next to Muddy Waters singing the phrase "rolling stone" - and understand at that moment what you're watching. He is everything to them. To all of us.
American blues has always been the stones music of choice and their inspiration from the start. And a lot of black blues singers thanked the stones for bringing the blues to the rest of the world.
Mick and Muddy: *Grandad and grandson energy* Keith: *Jiving with the band* Ronnie: *Up there because Muddy called him* And god knows where Charlie and Bill are
People here complaining about mick jaggers singing...dude muddy waters was his hero...who would let go of a chance of singing alongside him... Even though he didnt sing that well... His antics mpre or less made up for it... Awesome video this is...
So cool that the Stones decided to explore music on one of their off nights. Keith and Ronnie show themselves to be true masters of their craft. Mick does create a special energy wherever he goes, he's a great front man.
Not so much explore... muddy was their role model, their Gandalf so to speak...they’re showing him mad respect as they should...he was a major influence :)
F*** f*** f*** i'm having an eargarsm... what a f****** amazing song. This is what the ancients called MUSIC ladies and gentleman. No adjectives to describe this music.
Wow! Not only is it a magical performance but the restored video and sound is stunning! Credit to the crew who shot and recorded it initially as well. Such a fabulous capture of an important moment in musical history.
Imagine being at this club on that night and suddenly the Stones show up and put on a show for free. You now you're living right when something like that happens.
The absolute greatest moment in rock and roll history! end of discussion! If only I could see the clip from Cadillac Records where Mick approached Muddy on the street!
Muddy has a great band, not just the Stones playing along, his band. Muddy also has believe it or not greater stage presence than Jagger. Muddy doesn't dance around and wave his arms, he rocks and steps and owns the crowd. Even when he backs Mick he still is the main event.
I didn't want it to end this is by far my new favorite thank you guys muddy waters I would love to see live love the blues thank you for uploading this
You know you are straight legendary when your backing band is the Rolling Stones.
That is it!
The source. 🎵🖤✊🏾
The other way around. You know you are legendary when you get to back up Muddy Waters
The master (Muddy) and his students.
@Judy McAllister seriously
You know a man's cool when he makes Mick Jagger look like second fiddle.
Master and disciple in the art of bad ass cool
The only man on that stage cooler than Keith Richards
Damn straight! :)
Don't think many could make Muddy Waters be second fiddle. Just lovely to see the blues being played this way. Universal music for everyone.
looooool
Mick being Muddy's hype man is the most fanboy thing ever
Fanboy? That ain't a man,is it?
What's a hype man?

I agree
People just don't understand why!
Absolutely amazing
Mick is performing with his number one idol.He grew up listening to Muddy whose music influence him today.
Isotec1 They got the name Rolling Stone from him....
THE IDEA 1 Sure Did❤️
Too bad Brian couldn’t be there to experience this :(
priceless: to sing "i.m a rolling stone" with Mick aside. RIP MUddy, the greatest of all times in electric blues.
That's the man who named one of the greatest bands of all time - because they were listening to his music to figure out how to do it
The art comes full circle. Aren't we the lucky ones to get to enjoy this.
What’s beautiful about this clip is that we see just how much Mick and Keith just adore the blues in the most purest form. It’s to a level of childhood innocence.

We have them to thank for sending the Blues back to the US
HOLY MOTHER OF GOD! PLAY THIS AT MY FUNERAL!!!

This is legendary footage and sound. Should be preserved and sent into space. This is special, this is rare
Its weird to think that Muddy Waters would be 100 years old...
I think it's weirder when you think his gone and left us with J. Bieber
105 years old
That was the coolest jam in the history of rock and roll. Muddy waters, Mick jagged, Keith Richards, Ronnie wood and the incredible buddy guy. Amazing Amazing Amazing
Mick has a great sing along voice. He is unique, and has energy....but he is in SCHOOL here, as far as I am concerned.
Could muddy Waters ever write Gimme Shelter, Jumping Jack Flash,I'm Free, Wild Horses,Satisfaction etc. Hell No!
@@vernpascal1531 could they have ever written those if muddy waters didnt inspire them? Hell no!
@@vernpascal1531 apples and oranges. good pop rock and brick solid basic blues. no comparison. Both fucking great.

Watch the Rolling Stones on stage next to Muddy Waters singing the phrase "rolling stone" - and understand at that moment what you're watching. He is everything to them. To all of us.
It may be 1981, but Mick is still ahead of the times here, dressed like an early '90s rapper and pulling it off
American blues has always been the stones music of choice and their inspiration from the start. And a lot of black blues singers thanked the stones for bringing the blues to the rest of the world.
Mud is clearly enjoying himself immensely. He died in 1983.
2024 and still listening this absolute Masterpiece. Dammnn!!
i really don't think people who were there, realised what they were watching...
+Francisco Teixeira Lopes Oh yes we did know what we were watching. Most of us were going to these clubs for 20 years before this one night happened.
That's what our ancients used to call MUSIC... what a joy!
also I Bro....i think the same thing....have need a time machine damm...
I don't think half the people who've watched this realized what they were watching!

Look at those English kids there with the master. They're in heaven.
If it wasn’t for Muddy Waters there will be no Rolling Stones. Muddy Waters is one of the greatest musicians that ever walked this earth
Muddy waters has one of the most manliest voices ever
Barry white
8:00 Classy move by Ronnie - handing Buddy his fiddle.
I love it when Muddy invites Buddy Guy and Junior Wells into stage.
He's the man. He's the mannish boy. He's a rolling stone. He's the Hoochie Coochie man. What an event and what a performance.
Only Muddy can upstage Mick
Just this event should go down in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame
Mick Jagget high out of mind, singing with Muddy Waters is exactly what I didn’t know I needed today.
So cool that the Stones decided to explore music on one of their off nights. Keith and Ronnie show themselves to be true masters of their craft. Mick does create a special energy wherever he goes, he's a great front man.
ZenMistressNYC actually Muddy Waters and the Blues were a major influence on the Stones from early on
THe Rolling have the name because this song man!
Not so much explore... muddy was their role model, their Gandalf so to speak...they’re showing him mad respect as they should...he was a major influence :)
Uhm muddy is their daddy...

Mick needs to get off the stage and shut the fuck up!
FANTastic Muddy and Mick!
Excelent blues song!!
F*** f*** f*** i'm having an eargarsm... what a f****** amazing song. This is what the ancients called MUSIC ladies and gentleman. No adjectives to describe this music.
Id give my damn soul to go back in town and be in that crowd. they didn't realize what they were witnessing in this moment. This is literally history
This is the best performance of all time, hands down!
Wow! Not only is it a magical performance but the restored video and sound is stunning! Credit to the crew who shot and recorded it initially as well. Such a fabulous capture of an important moment in musical history.
The band is named after one of his songs. This is the best thing they ever did. Paying respect to the man who gave them life.
What's cool is the clear admiration that Jagger has for Muddy.
I love when he said "I hear you son"
Hell yeah he does!
Love the respect the Stones were giving to Muddy....best damn thing they ever did.
Imagine being at this club on that night and suddenly the Stones show up and put on a show for free. You now you're living right when something like that happens.
nothing beats keith playing blues, especially alongside such a legend as muddy waters
“BUDDY GUY! Buddy Guy!”

This is as basic, raw, and good as rock/blues gets.
I love the fact that they were having fun, music today needs more of this.
Este señor es una joya de la musica increible.....
That crowd had no idea that they were watching pure Greatness!!!!
Stones have to thank Muddy Waters et al for their genuine musical roots.
rudolf abelin - i'm sure they have & will continue to do so forever.
Amazing to watch Mick getting jealous of the blues masters understated brilliance
What dream blues gigs are made of! How I wish I could have been there...
This concert is outstanding! Holy shit! So many legends in one! Wow! Wow!
I think Mick is actually doing a reasonable job of being Muddy's back-up singer here. Seems fairly consistent with other versions of the song
Mick takes the role of Eddie Winter, who can be heared screaming on the studio version of Mannish Boy. Excellent!
@@MaxvanderG1 the shouting was Johnny Winter
When muddywaters is around he acts like a toddler.
It's so cool - it makes you realize that Mick actually knows all of Muddy's songs by heart
And this is how a piece of modern music history lesson looks like ...
Just some musicians having an amazing time, looks like they all had a great night.
Buddy and Junior! oh yeah
Mick Jagger with Muddy Waters and Buddy Guy, Lucky Guy !!!!!!!!!!!
Qué generosidad de Muddy, invitando a su shows a todos esos tremendos músicos, gracias por conservar está pieza youtube

Masterpieces of blues music that calms people down and makes us happy!
All good folks love this!❤❤
I saw Muddy Waters open for the Allman Brothers in St. Louis, 1975. He was awesome!
When for the first time english men meet the godfather of blues. Legend and people say thousand of years later than blues is still in UK
You can see what genuine joy Mick has in being on stage with his idol and Muse!
Não me canso de assistir esse SHOW !!!!
I can't get tired of watching this Show!
This is epic.
When the Stones came to Chess in Chicago to record, there was Mud, helping to paint the place.
a tear of Joy
Wow ! Suuuuper gut ! ! !

No words.. Pure Chills.
Muddy Waters is so legendary! The pure heart and soul in his voice is something no one can touch! Southern Mississippi deep soul!
The great post-WW2 bluesmen were, in general, glad that a younger generation kept them in the spotlight, and the music going.
I wanna a time machine and a ticket to Chicago NOW!!! For Christ sake, man!!!!
the stones are mesmerized and humbled by their hero's it's so easy to see love it 😍 rock on Muddy Waters light up heaven with your electricity 👆😇
Mind blown! That's a lot of mojo on one stage.
