@@carlosaugusto9821 in SNK the staff that produced the Orochi saga is not same that did Nests'. This is the main reason why so many cool characters that came out before kof 99 were put in the limbo.

That's totally normal in Kof, and that's basically what i meant in my early comment in other words. That the absence of some chars in new games (mainly on a new arc) is not about disinterest, "hate" or anything like that...
The fact he picks Yamazaki and Yashiro as two of his faves makes this man speaking AWESOME. They are some of my favorite characters, Yashiro in first place. Second is Shermie and then Yamazaki in third.

Robert is my favourite in the entire KOF series. I've liked him ever since I first saw him in Art Of Fighting 2. The guy is so damn stylish and an awesome rich ass kicker! It's kinda strange that he's Italian despite having a Spanish name (lol). But personally I don't mind. He is so cool. With that said what makes him different from Street Fighter's Ken? My team in KOF is Ryo, Robert and Billy.

Takuma is a great character can fit anywhere in the team either start mid or even last Ash was used as an anchor (last position in the team) by Lacud Korean legend and Tenga a Kof legend in Japan
I'll play Yamazaki in any game he's in even if I'm trash at Yamazaki. I always enjoy playing Andy because of his high mobility and the fact that he was the one who enabled me to beat Fatal Fury 1 on the arcade. I always have to have myself some Clark time because grappling is always a blast and he makes it even more fun. From there, Billy, Robert, Terry, Ryo, Joe, Ralf, and a constantly ill-fated Geese.
My main characters are: 1-Iori yagami: Because he is cool and his fighting style is awosome. 2-thunk Yamazaki: You know it.right? 3-kyo kusanagi: Because of his sick moves in 98.
If I were to make a top 5 of my KOF characters on all games it would definitely be: 1- Mature 2- Orochi Shermie (I love normal Shermie too, but Orochi Shermie always had my heart) 3- Chris/Orochi Chris 4- Kula 5- Angel Yeah, I do have a thing for evil female characters, if I were to make this a top 10, it would include Vice, Goenitz, Mary, Athena and King.

Yamazaki is so much fun. I always go for the grab super even tho i usually do his snake arm or knife attack by accident. I really hope he comes back in xv(teaming with Billy and Eiji)
Obviously my fav will always be Iori and I never start a team without him. But my all time favorite is Ralf. Back when I was a kid playing KoF in Mexico none stop, I always thought Ralf was Mexican because of his design in the older games but now I know he is American and his design was inspired by Rambo. KoF is literally the only fighting game that has real diverse characters from other countries and ethnicities. Obviously there’s other fighting games like Tekken that have more diversity but KoF was my favorite game at the time.
My mains: Kof 96- Kensou, King and Yuri Kof 97- Chris, Kensou and King Kof 98- Shingo, Kensou and Chris/ O. Chris Kof 2000- Kensou, Bao, Vanessa and Terry. Kof 2002- O. Chris, K' and Ramon Kof 2003- Benimaru, Jhun and K' Kof XIII- Kensou, Andy and King Kof XIV- Shun'ei, (because Shun is amazing) King and Zarina.
King, Mai, Kula, Elisabeth. These beauties are always guaranteed to be in my team, except if I want to experiment. Elisabeth is by far one of my most favorite character and story-wise. Her combos may be bland, but it's easy to understand. Her uppercut can easily punish approaching opponents, and can be easily comboed into a super. Kula takes a while to understand. Her combo potential is high, but needs mastery. Which is what makes her fun! Also, I love ice, soo.. King. I'm sure you explained her too well. Like you said, she's a fantastic zoner, and she's a literal beast in KOF XIII with her insane HD Cancels. She easily punish you with just one "Tornado Kick!" Mai is by far my most favorite. A master trickster. As I jump in the air, people always tend to jump too, so I punish them with "Musasabi No Mai". My favorite move is when she can bounce off the corner, so high that she's off screen. This gives me more opportunities to confuse enemies. But I'm glad I watched this video. I'll make sure to try out some of these, especially Mature since I barely used her.
My first KOF game I played was KOF 96 in the arcade, because I recognized Mr.Big and King from Art of Fighting 2. They were my first picks. Till this day, King has been a better character for me to use.

There are some KoF games here in other branches but only few people played it like 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2003. There's KoF xiii somewhere in Manila but I don't know where's the location exactly.
Your modesty is delightful! Watching you play is my favorite part of these videos. And as for my KOF avatar, Iori is my main man. Not only do I just feel "in control" with his reach/move-set, but I identify with him as a moody, solitary musician myself.
Clark is the only grapple character I've been able to actually play somewhat decently. Though my favorite characters gameplay wise are kim and kensou I guess I could say I'm very fond of kim due to his kicks that can open into combos and kensou because I just love his play style. I also like kyo but not as much as kim, clark, and kensou.
Ralph, Iori, Kim, Ryo, Mai, Joe, Kensou, Leona, Terry, Mary. I'd say those are my favourite characters. I don't have plaid any KoF more than the 97' when I was a kid. And those are the characters that I liked most back then and the ones that since then I allways have felt more confortable with. Specially Mai in that edition had every type of moves. She was so good. Even today I'd say that 97' Mai is the best of them all... mmm, maybe because I allways compare her newest move sets with that one I don't use her that much today. Well, it is what it is.
This is a great list! Yamazaki is probably one of the most unique characters I have seen in a fighting game, then again, I suck in fighting games, so what do I know? He can grapple, anti-air, and punish projectile spammers. Easily the coolest thing about him is his Drill special. I think it’s the only ultimate in the KOF franchise that you can charge for more damage. I really enjoyed this list.
I just like playing Ryo in all games cuz he was my childhood hero in art of fighting series and he kinda looks like Goku when super Saiyan. Also, I like ur channel, man. Keep up the content. Btw, do u know if KOF 15 will be released? ^_^
When it comes to my main guy in KOF, I always like playing Kensou. This dude has a lot of potential for a comic relief guy. Even if he can or can't use his powers, his moves and fighting style is so cool. He's a lot easy to use for me. The Dragon Spirit seems interesting, and it does need an arc in the series.
The character I picked most in KOF series is Iori Yagami. His "Kin 1211 Shiki~Ya Otome" desperation move is fun to watch no matter how much time I have seen it.
My personal Top 10 aren't much different, but they include K', and Whip; and in XI in particular, Athena and B. Jenet. Athena is mid-tier at best, but her LDM in XI is RIDICULOUSLY GOOD.

My main is usually Andy Bogard. Sometimes I would play as the Fatal Fury team in early KOF titles (94-98), with Andy being my most favorite, and Terry being the least. Joe is somewhat in the middle. For later KOF titles, I usually pick a team that I usually call the Early Main Sidekicks, consisting of Andy, Robert, and Benimaru. I remember beating KOF XIII and XIV for the first time with this team, and stick with team ever since. Also, perhaps you could talk about the most picked team compositions for your next video? That would be interesting because not all predestined teams are balanced (except perhaps for the first Japan team, also a favorite of mine), and a good selection of custom team members and their order in a fight determine a lot of the success in beating the game.
Throughout the KOF Series, I main Terry, Ryo and Robert in '97. For '98UM, I use Base Rugal. He and Saisyu always carried out my team in that version. For XIV, Nakoruru and Rock Howard (like I said before) always carried out my team. I always used Nakoruru as a Middle/Anchor character due to the hard nerfs she got after the patch with Rock taking point.
Mine would be Yashiro (Orochi ver. Included), Iori, K', Kyo, Joe, Terry, Ralph, K9999, King, Rugal, Chris (Orochi ver. Included), Kim, Robert and Yamazaki.

I've noticed that at least in Latin American countries many players use Mary Lee, Angel, Ramon and/or any characters that have some sort of reference to the Hispanic culture. I don't really know what other players from different parts of the world use since it seems like the KOF series is most popular in Latin America. Hmm... • 97' Special Team- Because Yamazaki is Best BOI, Billy is Right hand man for Geese and I respect him and Blue Mary hmm I kinda like her Theme though in 97 • NESTS Kyo in XIII- The Bodigas and that cool Max Cancel Super • Terry - well if I could remember his movelist. • Kim in XIII- His Pants of Justice is Godlike. • May Lee - I like her design though and her fighting style. • The XI Team- Shen in XIII because his Hype in matches, Ash in XIII is Cute I can say, Oswald is Cool and the Karnofell of cards is pretty slick. • EX Iori- He became Top Tier in XIII which I will feel guilty for playing him. • Rock Howard- Aye his in XIV so i wish he could come in XV which will.. 1. Geese Howard- When I saw him max's Gameplay and the Tekken 7 Reveal Trailer I was wondering "who is this guy?" Which I never heard his game before so I look in KOF matches in 2002 UM and TAS and I felt "Dude I want to Play Him." Which I know his Inputs are difficult and that Pretzel Motion Input is hard but Satisfying when U did it and that's what makes me loves this guy.

Terry is my main man, I like his character and the balanced move set and stats make him easy to use. Athena is also among my most picked for her variety of attacks she could pulled off. But if it's 98 or 2002, it will be all about Rugal. You know Rugal, enough said. He's also my main in KOF Allstar.

In fact, I like to rotate my hands on a lot of characters but those I mentioned are my staple picks. If you want more names from me then I'll add one or two, Clark and Ralf, one swift grappler and one heavy hitter.

I have a few favourites but one that comes to mind is krauser He's good up close and can do decently from afar His intro quote is the best in the series Kaiser wave is awesome.
Here are my top 10 picked characters in KOF: 1 - Iori Yagami (execution of combos and my favourite KOF character of all time) 2 - Shermie (my favourite grappler fighter but also my favourite waifu) 3 - Chris (my fastest character to use for combos, teleportation, ultimate change to Orochi and executing the orochi HDM) 4 - Rugal (using the genocide cutter as the cancel into supers in 2002 UM) 5 - Blue Mary (using the B button with a charge cancel into her hidden move) 6 - Kula (using hotkeys after combos in KOF 2002) 7 - Vanessa (the whirlwind HDM) 8 - Athena (because of the hidden move special using the correct button sequence to use the healing method) 9 - Kyo (the flame DM) 10 - Mai (my favourite to use when executing the flame HDM and efficient combos)
I'm not going to include last stage bosses in this list, even though my two favorite characters are boss characters (Igniz and Krizalid) but aside from them, when it comes to regular characters, my top 10 characters would be: 1.Kyo/Kusanagi - Has been my main ever since I picked up my first entry in the series, I like all of his versions, if his evil clone Kusanagi is present, he usually takes Kyo's spot in my team, because it's my favorite iteration of the character. 2.Joe Higashi - Joe was my first real main in any SNK game, so it's not surprising that he's one of my favorite and best characters in the KOF series. 3.Shen Woo - Since my first KOF game was KOF XI, I was introduced to him fairly quickly after finding this series, he has really grown on me as one of my favorites in the series, even though he unfortunately doesn't have many appearances. 4.Iori Yagami - Another character I really like and has been a staple for my teams in most KOF games. 5.K' - Similarly to Iori, K' is another character I really like and have been playing ever since his first game in a lot of my teams. 6.Ryuji Yamazaki - While I am better with him in the Fatal Fury series, he's one of my favorite characters, regardless of how crappy my KOF Yamazaki is and I do pick him a lot when he's available. 7.Terry Bogard - Another one of those characters I usually pick, he's not my main or in my main teams, but he's one of my better characters in most games he's in. 8.Gato - A great character, who is relatively easy to pick up and play and is usually top tier, whenever he's available, I tend to pick him. 9.Geese Howard - Similarly to Yamazaki, he's another character I really like and is one of my better Fatal Fury characters, but I suck with him in KOF, still, I love playing as Geese. 10.Benimaru - Ever since I've been playing back the entries and learning about the series, I've learned to really like him because I tend to pick the traditional team Japan a lot, so unlike Goro, Benimaru has grown on me a lot.
Due to gameplay style differences, chars like Geese turn out to be stronger in FF than in Kof (Unless there is a clear "dev bias" that makes him strong). Just like Mary, inversely, is stronger in Kof than in FF, because of Kof's juggles and how it uniquely handles grabs.
It's not necessarily because Geese is weaker in Kof, Geese is usually top tier/high tier in Kof, it's just that FFs system is easier to play than Kofs and Geese is already a difficult character to learn, not to mention, in some of his appearances in Kof, they nerfed his reppuken (his greatest tool) so it doesn't go all the way to the end of the screen, but rather comes in the form of short-length waves that you need to combo with instead to make it useful.

My top 10 KOF character picks (in no particular order) - Terry Bogard - Kyo Kusanagi - Angel - Shermie - B. Jenet - Blue Mary - Kim Kaphwan - Mai Shiranui - Joe Higashi - Luong Honorable Mentions: Shingo, Kula, Ryo, and Vanessa Terry is my overall favorite KOF character. I love his genuinely chill, friendly and easy-going personality and he's still able to kick serious ass too. He's easily one of the nicest fighting game protagonists but he's still able to pull off being a badass too. Terry is almost always going to be on my team. Shermie and Mary are probably my overall favorite grapplers. B. Jenet is really fun to use and after playing her more in KOF XI recently she became one of my favorite KOF ladies. Angel may be considered to be one of the hardest characters in the series to use, but I still really love using her. She's really fun and cool to use once you know how her Unchained Circle works. Plus, how can you not love a character who pays homage to The Rock?
When i play time ago my team normally was any from the Ikari team (except Whip) choosing mainly Ralf, later Kensou, Billy and Terry, i try to use Yamazaki but never understand how was the way to use him
King is the character I played the most in most KOF games. She was the first character I managed to pick up when I was first introduced to the series. I usually don’t flock to shoto characters, but King is someone who felt very special to me. I also play characters like Chris, Shermie (my favorite grappler), Mature, Kensou and Benimaru.
I don't remember a lot of people picking mature when I use to play kof 97. 98, 99, 2000 in the arcades back in 1997-2005. When we had tournaments the females that were always pick were king, Mai, Athena, Mary.
I have a handful of characters I like to play in the KOF series. Fighters such as Iori, Kyo, Ryo, Yuri, King, Kim, Ralf and Clark. But none of them will give me much fun as my main Terry Bogard. As you said in the video Terry is a all rounder, easy to memorize moves and is just so much fun to play. But what I like about him more is his character. Terry is a everyday man training, working in an out on odd jobs, and is overall a nice person. And yes I also love his very quotable engrish dialogue 🤣. He seems like the type of guy to have a drink with. Plus nothing is more satisfying than hitting my opponent a well timed BUSTAH WULF!🤜🏻💥

When i played KoF 98 after 2000 and 97, i decides to pick the US Sports Team for kicks since i dont think we will see the again for a while. Next thing i knew Lucky became my favorite character to play as. If he showed up in more games he probably would be my main.
I remember my first kof game the 97' and my very first team picked : benimaru , terry and robaaaaa! ^^ Now i play random with friends because i like all the characters (especially the 98')
Though that is the rule for team fg's... It's 3v3, so one by default has to "main" a team, not a single char. I dont main only 1 char in Marvel games as well.

K', Kyo, Terry and Ryo are my main characters. I pick them the most because I love their respective fighting styles and soundtracks.
Mine off the top of my head, and in no particular order: Takuma, Kim, Ralf, Joe, Benimaru, Chang, Geese, Lin, Ash, Tizoc.
Takuma is a great character can fit anywhere in the team either start mid or even last Ash was used as an anchor (last position in the team) by Lacud Korean legend and Tenga a Kof legend in Japan
benimaru was really good in 98!!
Takuma sucks in 2002. I guess they drained all his powers there and turned him into Shingo.
I'll play Yamazaki in any game he's in even if I'm trash at Yamazaki.
I always enjoy playing Andy because of his high mobility and the fact that he was the one who enabled me to beat Fatal Fury 1 on the arcade.
I always have to have myself some Clark time because grappling is always a blast and he makes it even more fun.
From there, Billy, Robert, Terry, Ryo, Joe, Ralf, and a constantly ill-fated Geese.

Obviously my fav will always be Iori and I never start a team without him. But my all time favorite is Ralf. Back when I was a kid playing KoF in Mexico none stop, I always thought Ralf was Mexican because of his design in the older games but now I know he is American and his design was inspired by Rambo. KoF is literally the only fighting game that has real diverse characters from other countries and ethnicities. Obviously there’s other fighting games like Tekken that have more diversity but KoF was my favorite game at the time.

These beauties are always guaranteed to be in my team, except if I want to experiment.
Elisabeth is by far one of my most favorite character and story-wise. Her combos may be bland, but it's easy to understand. Her uppercut can easily punish approaching opponents, and can be easily comboed into a super.
Kula takes a while to understand. Her combo potential is high, but needs mastery. Which is what makes her fun! Also, I love ice, soo..
King. I'm sure you explained her too well. Like you said, she's a fantastic zoner, and she's a literal beast in KOF XIII with her insane HD Cancels. She easily punish you with just one "Tornado Kick!"
Mai is by far my most favorite. A master trickster. As I jump in the air, people always tend to jump too, so I punish them with "Musasabi No Mai". My favorite move is when she can bounce off the corner, so high that she's off screen. This gives me more opportunities to confuse enemies.
But I'm glad I watched this video. I'll make sure to try out some of these, especially Mature since I barely used her.

I'd say those are my favourite characters. I don't have plaid any KoF more than the 97' when I was a kid. And those are the characters that I liked most back then and the ones that since then I allways have felt more confortable with. Specially Mai in that edition had every type of moves. She was so good. Even today I'd say that 97' Mai is the best of them all... mmm, maybe because I allways compare her newest move sets with that one I don't use her that much today. Well, it is what it is.
I always use the takuma family because they are complete as fighters especially ryo easy to combo and devastating desperate moves
This is a great list! Yamazaki is probably one of the most unique characters I have seen in a fighting game, then again, I suck in fighting games, so what do I know? He can grapple, anti-air, and punish projectile spammers. Easily the coolest thing about him is his Drill special. I think it’s the only ultimate in the KOF franchise that you can charge for more damage. I really enjoyed this list.

When it comes to my main guy in KOF, I always like playing Kensou. This dude has a lot of potential for a comic relief guy. Even if he can or can't use his powers, his moves and fighting style is so cool. He's a lot easy to use for me. The Dragon Spirit seems interesting, and it does need an arc in the series.

My main is usually Andy Bogard. Sometimes I would play as the Fatal Fury team in early KOF titles (94-98), with Andy being my most favorite, and Terry being the least. Joe is somewhat in the middle. For later KOF titles, I usually pick a team that I usually call the Early Main Sidekicks, consisting of Andy, Robert, and Benimaru. I remember beating KOF XIII and XIV for the first time with this team, and stick with team ever since. Also, perhaps you could talk about the most picked team compositions for your next video? That would be interesting because not all predestined teams are balanced (except perhaps for the first Japan team, also a favorite of mine), and a good selection of custom team members and their order in a fight determine a lot of the success in beating the game.

Terry, Kyo, Benimaru, Clark, K' , Iori and Shingo are my favorite picks in general.
Throughout the KOF Series, I main Terry, Ryo and Robert in '97. For '98UM, I use Base Rugal. He and Saisyu always carried out my team in that version. For XIV, Nakoruru and Rock Howard (like I said before) always carried out my team. I always used Nakoruru as a Middle/Anchor character due to the hard nerfs she got after the patch with Rock taking point.
Kula was in the honorable mentions. If she appears in the next KOF installment she’ll be one of my mains.
Of course she will, she became one of the most important girls of the series

I don't really know what other players from different parts of the world use since it seems like the KOF series is most popular in Latin America. Which I know his Inputs are difficult and that Pretzel Motion Input is hard but Satisfying when U did it and that's what makes me loves this guy.
Geese's super no longer requires a Pretzel Motion input in KOF XIV, thank God!

Terry is my main man, I like his character and the balanced move set and stats make him easy to use. Athena is also among my most picked for her variety of attacks she could pulled off.

In fact, I like to rotate my hands on a lot of characters but those I mentioned are my staple picks. 2 - Shermie (my favourite grappler fighter but also my favourite waifu)
3 - Chris (my fastest character to use for combos, teleportation, ultimate change to Orochi and executing the orochi HDM)
4 - Rugal (using the genocide cutter as the cancel into supers in 2002 UM)
5 - Blue Mary (using the B button with a charge cancel into her hidden move)
6 - Kula (using hotkeys after combos in KOF 2002)

I'm not going to include last stage bosses in this list, even though my two favorite characters are boss characters (Igniz and Krizalid) but aside from them, when it comes to regular characters, my top 10 characters would be:
1.Kyo/Kusanagi - Has been my main ever since I picked up my first entry in the series, I like all of his versions, if his evil clone Kusanagi is present, he usually takes Kyo's spot in my team, because it's my favorite iteration of the character.
2.Joe Higashi - Joe was my first real main in any SNK game, so it's not surprising that he's one of my favorite and best characters in the KOF series.
3.Shen Woo - Since my first KOF game was KOF XI, I was introduced to him fairly quickly after finding this series, he has really grown on me as one of my favorites in the series, even though he unfortunately doesn't have many appearances.
4.Iori Yagami - Another character I really like and has been a staple for my teams in most KOF games.
5.K' - Similarly to Iori, K' is another character I really like and have been playing ever since his first game in a lot of my teams.
6.Ryuji Yamazaki - While I am better with him in the Fatal Fury series, he's one of my favorite characters, regardless of how crappy my KOF Yamazaki is and I do pick him a lot when he's available.
7.Terry Bogard - Another one of those characters I usually pick, he's not my main or in my main teams, but he's one of my better characters in most games he's in.
8.Gato - A great character, who is relatively easy to pick up and play and is usually top tier, whenever he's available, I tend to pick him.
9.Geese Howard - Similarly to Yamazaki, he's another character I really like and is one of my better Fatal Fury characters, but I suck with him in KOF, still, I love playing as Geese.
10.Benimaru - Ever since I've been playing back the entries and learning about the series, I've learned to really like him because I tend to pick the traditional team Japan a lot, so unlike Goro, Benimaru has grown on me a lot.
Due to gameplay style differences, chars like Geese turn out to be stronger in FF than in Kof (Unless there is a clear "dev bias" that makes him strong). Just like Mary, inversely, is stronger in Kof than in FF, because of Kof's juggles and how it uniquely handles grabs.
It's not necessarily because Geese is weaker in Kof, Geese is usually top tier/high tier in Kof, it's just that FFs system is easier to play than Kofs and Geese is already a difficult character to learn, not to mention, in some of his appearances in Kof, they nerfed his reppuken (his greatest tool) so it doesn't go all the way to the end of the screen, but rather comes in the form of short-length waves that you need to combo with instead to make it useful.
Oh my goodness cant believe you chose yamazaki my favorite character i always pick him. His dm move yondan drill is the best and very awesome.

Terry is my overall favorite KOF character. I love his genuinely chill, friendly and easy-going personality and he's still able to kick serious ass too. He's easily one of the nicest fighting game protagonists but he's still able to pull off being a badass too. Terry is almost always going to be on my team. Shermie and Mary are probably my overall favorite grapplers. B. Jenet is really fun to use and after playing her more in KOF XI recently she became one of my favorite KOF ladies. Angel may be considered to be one of the hardest characters in the series to use, but I still really love using her. She's really fun and cool to use once you know how her Unchained Circle works. Plus, how can you not love a character who pays homage to The Rock?
When i play time ago my team normally was any from the Ikari team (except Whip) choosing mainly Ralf, later Kensou, Billy and Terry, i try to use Yamazaki but never understand how was the way to use him

My favorite KOF Character was & always will be K' . He is the only reason i started playing KOF Series .
King is the character I played the most in most KOF games.
She was the first character I managed to pick up when I was first introduced to the series. I usually don’t flock to shoto characters, but King is someone who felt very special to me.
I also play characters like Chris, Shermie (my favorite grappler), Mature, Kensou and Benimaru.
Though she doesnt have many qualities relatable to shotos in my opinion, just a single one which is a strong fireball game.
I don't remember a lot of people picking mature when I use to play kof 97. 98, 99, 2000 in the arcades back in 1997-2005.
When we had tournaments the females that were always pick were king, Mai, Athena, Mary.
I have a handful of characters I like to play in the KOF series. Fighters such as Iori, Kyo, Ryo, Yuri, King, Kim, Ralf and Clark. But none of them will give me much fun as my main Terry Bogard. As you said in the video Terry is a all rounder, easy to memorize moves and is just so much fun to play. But what I like about him more is his character. Terry is a everyday man training, working in an out on odd jobs, and is overall a nice person. And yes I also love his very quotable engrish dialogue 🤣. He seems like the type of guy to have a drink with. Plus nothing is more satisfying than hitting my opponent a well timed BUSTAH WULF!🤜🏻💥

When i played KoF 98 after 2000 and 97, i decides to pick the US Sports Team for kicks since i dont think we will see the again for a while. Next thing i knew Lucky became my favorite character to play as. If he showed up in more games he probably would be my main.
