FYI at the start when Reiner says "I heard Gabi and Falco's voices," I think he was referencing how they were screaming his name while he was unconcious during the massive fight in Liberio, calling for Reiner to transform and attack Eren.

some people say that Falco sees the eldians of paradis island differently than Gabi because he saw Reiner and Eren interact, but I don't think it's just that. Falco, differently from Gabi, was never a true believer of the marleyan's cause even before Eren, because he feels that the whole thing it's just wrong, especially since his family was targeted after the whole thing about one of his family members being a restorationist. He enrolled just to further clean his family's name (sure theres his brother, but two is better than one), and then he stayed, even though he's not a brilliant recruiter, because he wants to spare gabi form ymir's curse (the 13 year thing). He's still baffled to discover everything that went on, but he accepts that marley is in the wrong more easily than gabi because of what he already had been through in his past and, probably, seeing his family suffer. Gabi instead always relished on the fact that her cousin was an honorary marleyan that was doing such an important mission on the devil island, she probably never saw a bad side to it and now that she does she just doesn't want to accept it because it's too much. everything that she ever believed or trusted is crumbling, so you kinda feel bad for the kid.

This is true because we’ve already seen Falco being kind to even enemy soldiers in the first episode. Later he also insulted the Marley’s and their way of choosing warriors. Falco is just woke 😂
@@JessChillN_ You can firmly believe something while also being scared of the consequences. Grisha's father was a clear example of that. These people have it drilled into them from their childhood that the Paradis Island Eldians are evil monsters, that Eldians are devils, and that they must all atone for their history or be subject to punishment. It's like devout Christians and Hell; they firmly believe in what they were taught, and are very afraid of the consequences of not following those teachings.

truly, which is wonderful why we have falco as her closest friend. it makes a wonderful relationship with very interesting dialogue; i hope people can understand just how indoctrinated gabi is and how she's a parallel of reiner and eren when they were younger
So despite how easy it is to hate on Gabi, she's not stupid or evil (her moral compass is not exactly pointing north though). The discrepancies between what she's been taught and what she is experiencing now are a massive shock and in order to cope with that, the attack on Liberio (and the death of her friends), and Zeke's betrayal, she's basically "switched off", which defaults her into what she's been indoctrinated as: A Marleyan Warrior.
Years of indoctrination make it real easy for her to "auto-pilot" into "Eldians are all devils" and act the way she does while ignoring the very clear discrepancies that are right in front of her eyes.

It has different effects on people, that is wjy Falco did not become as crazy as she did.
Their position also affects the way they think.
Falco was last in the line, and his family already had "traitors". By accepting the enemy as humans he does not lose a lot.
Gabi was top canditate, and she did a lot to get there and put a lot of effort into it.
For her not fighting "devils" means that all her effort and all the killing she did to prove that she is a "good" Eldian was for nothing. It makes thing meaningless.
Her attitude is a mix of the indoctrination she recieved and a coping mechanism so that her identity is not compromised.
If you hate her instead of the situation she was put in then you don't get the story at all.

14:38 notice the way Mikasa remembers Eren in this flashback. When we first saw it in S1, the flashback was heroic and Eren was shown as her savior. Now that she remembers it again, the look in Eren's eyes, the way he speaks and the overall flashback is more eerie and disturbing. It's almost as if she's stopped looking at him through rose colored glasses, and isn't blinded by her feelings for him anymore. She's slowly starting to realize Eren's true nature.

Remember Falco saw Eren and Reiner interaction.....He saw Reiner break down before Eren, taht is why Falco understands, all Gabi saw was the start of an attack that made her lose her 2 friends
Also falco wasn’t in general a true believer like gabi, since the only reason he became a candidate is because of his uncle who was a restorationist with geisha. His family strived to be candidates to clear their name
You’re not the first reactors to think “the lost/stranded child” of Hizaru is Mikasa’s mom, but let’s do a little math. That would’ve made her mom 100+ years old when she was killed. The lost child is Mikasa’s great great grandpa, assuming each generation had their child around 25 years old.

This Episode is one of my favorites , such a beautiful hommage to Sasha and when the ending kicked in I broke, suck a great scene and beautiful episode
The decision to start the ending music while Kaya is still giving her speech made me choke up too. Still does, really haha super emotional and the repercussions it has in the story well...
It's a good episode but it's my least favorite episode from this season.

it actually got me more teary eyed than Sasha's actual death scene... felt more impactful, due tot he good amount of emotional build up, whereas the death scene broke momentum and focused on more than just the death scene (Zeke twist).

Pretty sure Falco will inherit a Titan because in the first episode of season 4 (a lot people missed it), but Falco was literally dreaming of flying through the woods killing titans which is definitely implying the scouts/Paradis. The only way he could’ve has such memory/dream is because he somehow will inherit a Titan in the future.
Before Eren inherited the Titan as a kid the VERY first episode as well in season 1 he had a nightmare and woke up. If you slow it down you see a few mysterious things which I believe is connected to Ymir and some bloody scenes. Even must’ve gotten those ‘memories’ of the future even before he inherited the Titan.

Although I do think Falco ends up a titan, because he got memories of fighting as a scout in the first episode, I don't think Reiner had future memories. I just think because the last things he heard before passing out was their cries before saving Porco from Eren.
Only reason Reiner said he could hear Falco and Gabi is because when he transformed they were yelling his name and he proceeded to pass out again after fighting Eren Jaeger
Only the attack titan can get memories from future users (e.g. the owl having memories of future armin and mikasa, through eren/Grisha’s memories). Any other titan can only see the past memories

Shallot makes a comeback! Honestly this and ep 13 are some of my favorites of the 4th season
the convo with gabi and the blonde girl is basically the same convo eren and Reiner had right before his attack. precisely why Falco was able to answer very calmly since he was there as well. Falco has heard and understands both sides of the coin.
It's interesting that I see almost all reactors or anyone who has seen the show hate gabi at this point.
Ofcourse I understand why... I think it makes sense why she isn't liked at all.
But for some reason, I never hated her. But actually liked her character. She is tragic character who drowning in hate, and I like that a character like this showed up in the show. Especially since she is the product of indoctrination. Even Reiner, Annie and Bertholdt had a lot of restraint (the situation they were in forced them to continue on)... but with Gabi... she completely believes what she had been told ever since she was born.
And that kind of Dynamic, especially with Falco around (who is complete opposite of her), is something that was very fresh for me. And this episode kind of made everything sense to me.... as to why I liked her characterization. So tragic.
But that is why the compassion the girl shows Gabi was so important. Sometimes, compassion goes a long way, even if its extended to people who don't deserve it.
Wow Gabi's whole "1000 Years ago your people slaughtered everyone" argument really sucks for her...

I personally feel bad for Gabi. At the end of the day she's still just a victim. She's a child who was raised and brainwashed her whole life thinking she was a lesser race and has to put her life on the line to atone for it. The things she does are disgusting, but it's just an outcome of how their society made her be. Everyone she's looked up to told her this was right, and all of a sudden everything she believed is being proven wrong. There's no way she could handle that well. I just wish she'd realize the Eldians aren't evil for her own sake.

about the memories, it was said that the closer you are with the person who u got the titan power, the more memories you'll have from them. In Eren's case, he only have the memories of his father, and dont have memories of the founding nor the warhammer!

In this episode, we see Mikasa remember Eren saving her. But the flashback is darker, more ominous this time. She wants to believe in Eren but she's also seen that he's willing to go far if he has enough anger.
Also, Eren put his hair up in a bun very similar to Lara Tybur after consuming her. This doesn't mean he's being manipulated, but at the very least, he's being influenced, even if only subconsciously.
Personally I wouldn't take the hair to draw any conclusion about Eren's influence. Now that he doesn't need to be a hobo anymore, it's only practical for him to go with a hairstyle that doesn't have his hair in his face. After all, he was the one who told Mikasa to cut her hair. For him the bun is the easiest fix.
This episode and the next are heartbreaking
