Thank you for giving us such amazing tips and lessons. I really appreciate it!
Thanks for telling me!
Thank you! I really like this one, and it's now part of my warm up. My hands are finally starting to gravitate towards better voicings, rather than my brain forcing them to do it.
Very cool...glad it's working for you!
Thanks Kent. Yet another great lesson.
Thanks so much!

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I love to see a new Kent video!!! Awesome, geepers creepers!!!
Very cool comment...thank you!
Thank you so much! Great lesson for spread voicings in all keys and added alts on 5 chord.
Thanks for the comment, Bruce
This is such a great exercise!! The way you set it up, it’s also drop 2 at the same time. So being aware of that and disregarding the root, you’ve got your drop 2’s in a band setting. This is so useful!!!!
Wow! What a great exercise. Came along just when I am opening up to the importance of spread voicing. Rather then having the chord in the right with base or the left with melody but spreading the chord out - great sounds. Thanks.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video...thanks!
Thank you!
Thanks for the comment!
Interesting ideas, great video 🙌🏼
Thanks so much!
Superb! Thank you! ❤❤
Thank you too!

excellent, thanks for the lesson! brgds!
My pleasure...thanks!
Excelent.!!!
Cool ..... thanks so much!
Thanks !
Thank you!
Wow! in addition to be a useful exercise to practice my rootless voicings, it's a great way of remembering the "melody" of the 2-5-1 progression--and adding the 6th is always something I like to do. So clear and helpful as always. Thanks, Kent!
I really appreciate your comment!
Thank you,Maestro Kent.⭐🌹🔥🌹⭐
You are very welcome!
Thank you, great video!
Thank you!
Thank you so much sir ji 🎉🎉❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🌹
My pleasure...thanks!
Hi Kent, just wanted to say a big Thank You! I've been practising this sequence all morning. I'm not a piano player, but a bass player, using the piano to learn chord structure, theory and reharmonisation as well as a bit of simple accompaniment. You have reinvigorated my enthusiasm and I have dug out my Methods & Song Book and bought the book of Appendices to go with it. Keep up the good work, you're a great teacher.
I'm so happy to hear from you...it's rewarding to me to know that bass players and guitarists also watch my lessons.
Great exercise!! I’ve known my 2-5-1’s in rootless voicings for years. But spread voicings need work and this really a great starter with a memorable melody( geepers creepers) to start from. Thank you so much.
Thanks Bruce...always great comments!
Ah man! This is just what I was looking for. It's funny, I visited your channel 7 years ago when I was first learning jazz piano. It has taken me on quite the journey of musical production and songwriting. It's only now, years later, that I am returning to my jazz practice and curiosity again. It is so refreshing to be connecting to the piano again! Seeing you still uploading is also something of a blessing!! You were my favorite to learn from and now I am so happy to be back :)
Thanks for all you do Kent.
I'm so happy you're back...and thanks for telling me...It's very helpful and gratifying to me!
Thanks for the Jeepers! Laura is one of my favorite tunes. Thanks, K.H.
I'm so glad to hear that...thanks!
Hi ya, I played it and never realized breezin was jeepers creepers! Thanks for the exercise!
Bonjour Monsieur Hewitt, the 1st exercise I learned to play Jazz is the 2/5/1, which can be found in so many songs, Thank you for this video again. Your videos are superb and when you play Bill Evans you are grandiose, you play as Bill Evans
Thank you Monsieur😌
Wonderful comment...very helpful to me...thanks!
Each time I follow one of your video lessons, my playing improves greatly and I get that elusive “ah hah” moment!
@RochelleM491 I love your comment, bro. Swing loose always!
I wish I played piano. This piano sounds very nice too… and in tune.
Thanks so much!
I came up with exactly this exercise, note for note, years ago to get 2-5-1s under my fingers. Only difference is I usually started in the keys of A and Ab. Never noticed that it shared a kind of melody with Jeepers Creepers!
Also came up with variations, adding 13s and various dominant alterations.
Must be a logical and fundamental exercise that we would both devise it in nearly exactly the same way.
WE think alike...so very cool...thanks for telling me!
Great idea to associate drills with songs and movies, I will remember it forever now! thanks maestro!
I'm so glad you told me...thanks!
Nice 2 5 1 exercise. Haven't seen this one before.
I'm glad to hear that...thanks!
what a place is it ? In the end of video ? Nice view
View from the cabin...The Jazz Ranch!
For this exercise, do we also need to play LH rootless ?
That would be covered on another video...this is just for Spread voicings
Michael Longo anyone?
I dig...he was great!
