The Homestead from Assassins Creed 3 had the most unique hideout upgrade system. Pretty much the other hideouts can be upgraded with money but the Homestead can be upgraded through playing missions where you meet and interact with civilians. Really gave that community feel the best of the hideouts. Though that one encyclopedia achievement where you have to scan the civilians each 3 times in different places and times of the day was painful.

The Davenport Homestead feels most like a community where people live their lives, doing things for their own and each other’s survival and pleasure, and having interpersonal connections. Couldn’t agree more with Davenport Homestead for being number one! In a way, you feel so accomplished, you help band together these colonists who felt abused, lost, stricken with hardship. And gave them a home and a family that would provide for and protect one another.
I would say that the AC syndicate one should be ranked higher because of the convenience of the train always moving, and making it much easier to access different parts of the city, the fact that it is probably the most hidden hideout (you are literally hiding in plain sight under starricks nose). And it makes more sense for the assasins to have a small well hidden hideout than a massive mansion, or huge manor.
My ideal hideout in this franchise has the Homestead Missions and interactions from AC: III, the Vendors from AC: II, and the money n supplies needed to upgrade it from AC: Valhalla. Along with the ability to control Assassin Recruits and your own finances would be nice. I the hideout had all those features it would be praised to high heaven.
With Ravensthorpe there are a lot of buildings to construct and cosmetic items to decorate the settlement with but I do think it's lacking in defenses. There are no guard towers except maybe if you put the lookout tower in the spot in front of the longhouse where a big tree can go (which I did for my settlement), no walls surrounding Ravensthorpe, and a lot of the buildings are for trading like growing crops and raising livestock while the only military buildings are the armory, the jomsviking hall, and the barracks. The cities in England, settlements like Soma's fort, the bandit camps, and the forts along the rivers have walls and guard towers yet Ravensthorpe doesn't. Not to mention the hills behind the longhouse offer an opportunity for enemies to observe the settlement and attack from behind. I'm surprised Ravensthorpe only gets attacked once in the whole game.
The Brotherhood and Revelation hideouts are some of my favorites. The train is probably in my top 3 favorite hideouts along with the cafe. The Homestead is in my top 5 for how homely and cozy it is. It was so satisfying playing theough missions and the Homestead missions and seeing both the area and house itself become decorated. On so many occasions i just walked around the house and looked at the decorations and momentos.
The treasure room in great inaqua in AC4 actually represents how much money you have in game. It’ll change depending on how much you have on you. Idk the exact amounts but >5000 is the lowest I believe and 100,000+ is the max (I think there are 2 other sizes of the treasure between).
Love the homestead got respect it deserved Always hated people saying it was bad as it had this community vibe with how you found every member and helped them in important moments. It made me quite sad they've never returned to this idea as it was one of AC 3. Hell Valhalla could of been the homestead 2.0, imagine that, would've been amazing
Exactly, I loathed how much you had to grind to fully build up your Viking settlement. Unlocking buildings and upgrading through completions of side missions is far more fulfilling and pleasant way to build up your hideout. So much potential, just wasted on such a grinding resource economy.
I totally agree on your number 1, building that homestead into a full thriving town is my favourite part of the game. In a game of hits and misses this was definitely one of the hits
"Well she's dead." Lol Good luck in University mate! I think the Syndicate train was such a cool idea and was very unique. I think it coulda been better but I really like that they tried to do something new.
I beat assassins creed 3 multiple times but I’ve been seeing so much about it that I HAVE TO replay it as in adult as I am currently on an assassins creed binge
What I like about the cafe theatre is that its a hideout where you can really see arno just chilling. He can interact with the coffee table and drink coffee while listening to politics.
12:28 where does the money come from? It better be donated/ payments made for missions cuz there ain’t no way an assassin would resort to -extorting the innocent- taxation.
My favorites are the Cafe, Villa Auditore and Great Inagua. Honorable mention would be the train in syndicate. I do love the fact it was always moving and it was very helpful as I would use it to get to my next location if it was nearby.
Achilles Manor where the Homestead took place was a break from the Revolution of the time, but my personal favorite hideout remains the Great Inagua compound for the Caribbean setting.
the train hideout in syndicate was not only fun to just wander around in and interact with things but also some days id just look out of the train and just look around the city as it moved on, perfect.
My favorite is definitely Davenport Homestead. I not only like the building and the region. The people are great, I adore the Homestead community and helping all of them through the side missions. I think part of why AC3 is one of my favorite games and the AC game I've played more times than I can count is because of the Homestead people. I just love how they live, how they help each other, I like helping them. It really makes me feel part of a working and supportive community and I love it.
0:22 - 1:25 I received AC Rogue as a Christmas gift in 2014 just over month after it launched. I didn't progress very far, completing only the first sequence before abandoning the game. A year ago in September 2022 across the span of only three days (the 15th, 16th, and 17th), I went achievement hunting and ground out the game, getting every achievement except for those that were i.e. "do X amount of this". I travelled the entire map, 100% sequences, collected all collectibles, and I do not remember the building of Fort Arsenal. A fort, yes, a mansion, no.
I love Ravensthorpe with every fiber of my being, but I definitely see where it could have been improved. I tend to love most games, worlds, stories, and characters I play and experience in the AC franchise despite some of their faults though
Well.. You have a Hideout in Liberations too, but it will be probably somewhere in the last 3 spots anyway, because there isn't much. Just a single room in a trading warehouse. Personally, I would put AC4's hideout over AC3's. but only because I like the setting way more. A simple reason, I know, but my personal biggest reason. :D
A lot of people loved the moving train, I have to admit it’s very creative. Auditors villa is goat but I see where your coming from with the homestead there’s just so much to it and the trading mini game heavily depending on your level of homestead is just brilliant 👌🏻
I ABSOLUTLY loved Davenport. How the growing of the village was carried over the years and time-jumps... over several missions where you get to know the settlers, help them and feel like they realy develop alongside you... loved this little village. :3
Mine is 1. Homestead from ac3 2. Cafe from ac unity 3. Train from ac syndicate My favorite is actually the cafe teatre but homestead just have that cozy vibe that it just have to be at number 1 in my list
What I like the most about Davenport homestead is that you know the people there and that makes the homestead so alive... at least if you do the homestead missions. 1st time around I got stuck and didn't find the homestead missions anymore. Turns out it was Morris that I missed the first time around. Kinda hidden away at the north of Boston.
Wtf the Steam Train in Syndicate was awesome. You could literally be doing something random just to see the hideout passing by, and jump on it like that untill you were ready to step out at your next destination
10:45 So imagine you've been captured. And they string you up in a closet. You need to watch the blacksmith make a ludicrously complicated set of locks and keys, then you watched helplessly as your captor orders the 5 keys to distant islands. "So, when's feeding time?"
My thing about masyaf castle is that it's a giant castle, you're not hiding you're just showboating and the architecture is strangely like the English buildings in acre, and with the knowledge gone it makes it clear that al Mualim is scared of altïar or anyone really knowing who he really is I still love it as it's giant symbolism of how the brotherhood in 1 is just, Templars with hoods
Ravensthorpe and the train are so underrated in this. The ac 3 homestead is overrated. People are going to say im a new player but no I just dont like the homestead
Masyaf will always be special for me. One of the historic original headquarters of the Assassins, full of knowledge and the coolest dressed trained killers fighting to keep the world from actual Templar knights.
thanks for this video brother here's my rank : 11 : ravensthorpe from valhalla ( i place it at the worst just because i hate this game) 10 : fort arsenal from rogue 9 : the hidden ones bureaut from origins 8 : steam train from syndicate 7 : cafe theatre from unity 6 : great inagua from black flag 5 : galata headquarters from revelelations 4 : tiber island from brotherhood 3 : homestead from ac 3 2 : masyaf castle from ac 1 1 : villa auditore from ac 2
Ima be honest I wasn’t paying that much attention scrolling through TH-cam But the hideouts on the thumbnail I legitimately thought was a modern day suburb which I think is funny af
What I like about fort arsenal is that it's very reactive. I've only really played the kenway games, and no other of them had guns and swords on a rack that actually change depending on what weapons you pick up. Plus, I like just hanging out around because it's also near your Templar HQ.
In syndicate, as you upgrade and win thug wars, the number of members on the train increases, and you see more diverse member types. Plus, all the mwechants you need are on the last car, on your way out.
I like how in all of the games those places make sense. That's why you don't get a house in Oddysey. There is nothing in Kassandra's story to justify it, except for building a house being a thing. Witcher 3 added house in DLC because I guess people like them in Skyrim, they made a story for that and it kind of made sense. In Syndicate you get a train - which makes sense. But then you just get a ship which is not reallya hideout. And in Valhalla again it makes sense - you are not a wandering mercenary, you are creating a colony and doing assasin stuff as something extra. So building a village makes sense and does not feel pushed.
I guess I'm biased because I prefer Ezio's story over the other assassins. And Villa Auditore is to me the best because it feels closer to the family. Being also Mario's state and all that. And there is the fact that you could decorate it by buying the art in the game. That was a very nice touch.
My list 1. Davenport Homestead AC3 (Ship+Comfort+View+Community) 2. Great Inagua AC4 (Ship+ View+ Comfort) 3. Train from AC Syndicate (Moving HQ) 4. Fort Arsenal AC Rogue (Ship+ Average View+ Comfort) 5. Masyaf 6. Tiber Island HQ AC Brotherhood
You also forgot that below Monteriggioni is the Auditore crypt, a nice detail as the crypt is officially designated in the game with an assassin’s tomb mark, usually reserved for one of the six assassin tomb’s necessary to unlock Alt’air’s legendary armor.
I agree with this list ac3 hideout was my favorite, I like assassins creed mirage’s hideout but I’m in the middle of the game and not even sure you can go back to that hideout
I feel like the one bad thing about how badly reviewed AC3 was is the loss of Hideout Upgrade stuffs. In AC4 I'd loved to have seen a combination of the systems of AC2 and 3, as most of the island isn't considered that important, and I always miss how much you could do in AC2. Beyond things in the mansion there were new places to explore as you upgraded the town, Statues to find in the town, the Wall of Assassin's Scrolls, and Ezio's sister to interact with. It feels like they tried to go too far with the crafting system in AC3, but I'd have liked to have more secrets on the island, and have more distant parts play a bigger role. Like I'd have loved to see stuffs done with the Forts done from the other side. Instead of assaulting a Fort you defend one instead. Or you could get ahold if other ships, have them docked, and even take them out for yourself, but they maybe don't get upgrades, but have different abilities.
I really missed the AC mechanics where you can train your recruits to become full-fledged Master Assassins, anyway my number 1 HO is also the DAVENPORT. it just feels like home when you return from the main cities missions.
I’d honestly put Black Flag’s near the bottom. Yeah, you can upgrade it, but it does nothing. You don’t even earn passive income like in Unity or Syndicate nor does it have any unique missions or the trade system associated with it since that’s all in the Jackdaw. You could remove it from the game entirely and nothing changes other than the location of the ending.
i liked how wholesome the homestead missions was it was cosy everyone knew everyone and it was so chill i loved doing them and adding people to the small village was so nice

My all time favorite must be the AC3 Hideout, the way we start off as a single house to a community of people living there is just making me so HAPPY
I'm near 2million reales, I'm trying to get to the #1 pirate rank rn
i honestly tought that that basement wasnt even accecible while free roaming in the homestead this guy just showed me how to get in thx bud 🤣
Love the homestead got respect it deserved
Always hated people saying it was bad as it had this community vibe with how you found every member and helped them in important moments.
Fun fact about the treasure room in Ac black flag: the more money you have in the game, the more gold is in the pile.
"Well she's dead." Lol
Good luck in University mate!
I think the Syndicate train was such a cool idea and was very unique. I think it coulda been better but I really like that they tried to do something new.
Thank you, appreciate that. Yeah I can agree with that. I saw the potential
I beat assassins creed 3 multiple times but I’ve been seeing so much about it that I HAVE TO replay it as in adult as I am currently on an assassins creed binge
cafe theatre. well im biased with Unity. its so good imo. great video
Thanks!
you da best barb
@@TheHiddenOne690 Thank you, Hidden One. Please keep up the great work!🤗👍🏼♥️
I like how they all have nice houses except for origins, which is just
H O L E .
Villa Auditore is my favorite hideout, and all the hideouts in the ezio trilogy were great.
13:48 omg i never knew in ac3 remastered you could get agulars robes from the ac movie that looks so cool in game 😃
Definitely need to bring this back!! Hideouts are the best!!!
Homestead Missions where so chill
Davenport Homestead is the reason AC 3 is my favourite game ever, i have made a save just to do the homestead quests over and over again.
the moving train was a cool idea
I honestly didn't remember that there's a hideout in rogue
I never knew it exist in rouge
Mine is
1. Homestead from ac3
2. Cafe from ac unity
3. Train from ac syndicate
My favorite is actually the cafe teatre but homestead just have that cozy vibe that it just have to be at number 1 in my list
The Desmond outfit confused me for a sec 😂
Love your videos man 👍 keep up the good work
What I like the most about Davenport homestead is that you know the people there and that makes the homestead so alive... at least if you do the homestead missions.
I like Black Flag one. You get whole island to yourself 😎
Edward Kenway having a whole island amazes me. He even has his own tavern. Guess that is where plundering ships from the South get you
cool thumbnail and great video
10:45
So imagine you've been captured. And they string you up in a closet.
You need to watch the blacksmith make a ludicrously complicated set of locks and keys, then you watched helplessly as your captor orders the 5 keys to distant islands.
"So, when's feeding time?"
My thing about masyaf castle is that it's a giant castle, you're not hiding you're just showboating and the architecture is strangely like the English buildings in acre, and with the knowledge gone it makes it clear that al Mualim is scared of altïar or anyone really knowing who he really is
I still love it as it's giant symbolism of how the brotherhood in 1 is just, Templars with hoods
Great video! That Rogue footage looks familiar
I agree creed man
Haha yepp
Ravensthorpe and the train are so underrated in this. The ac 3 homestead is overrated. People are going to say im a new player but no I just dont like the homestead
Masyaf will always be special for me. One of the historic original headquarters of the Assassins, full of knowledge and the coolest dressed trained killers fighting to keep the world from actual Templar knights.
"What other hideout in any other video game is constantly on the move?" - The Aurora train from Metro Exodus for example, there are quite a few :)
thanks for this video brother
here's my rank :
11 : ravensthorpe from valhalla ( i place it at the worst just because i hate this game)
10 : fort arsenal from rogue
9 : the hidden ones bureaut from origins
8 : steam train from syndicate
7 : cafe theatre from unity
6 : great inagua from black flag
5 : galata headquarters from revelelations
4 : tiber island from brotherhood
3 : homestead from ac 3
2 : masyaf castle from ac 1
1 : villa auditore from ac 2
The train hideout had a library 📚
Was waiting for this one 🔥
The legacy room in unity made me tear up when i saw all the assassin's outfits from previous games
Ima be honest
I wasn’t paying that much attention scrolling through TH-cam
But the hideouts on the thumbnail I legitimately thought was a modern day suburb which I think is funny af
What I like about fort arsenal is that it's very reactive. I've only really played the kenway games, and no other of them had guns and swords on a rack that actually change depending on what weapons you pick up. Plus, I like just hanging out around because it's also near your Templar HQ.
AC syndicate's train was the coolest hideout ever...it sure felt like something hidden in plain sight
Bro the Galata hideout really using social blending
In syndicate, as you upgrade and win thug wars, the number of members on the train increases, and you see more diverse member types. Plus, all the mwechants you need are on the last car, on your way out.
To me Aditore town and Villa takes the cake! It was awsome! And was awsome to revisit it as desmond in brotherhood
New to this channel....but this is amazing content. For us AC fans, its a must subscribe for sure.
Ik we're quick to hate on Valhalla, but the effort, time, care and attention put into growing the settlement by the devs makes it my favourite
Assassins creed 3 is such an amazing game and so underrated
Syndicate hideout is pretty cool
I like how in all of the games those places make sense. That's why you don't get a house in Oddysey. There is nothing in Kassandra's story to justify it, except for building a house being a thing. Witcher 3 added house in DLC because I guess people like them in Skyrim, they made a story for that and it kind of made sense. In Syndicate you get a train - which makes sense. But then you just get a ship which is not reallya hideout. And in Valhalla again it makes sense - you are not a wandering mercenary, you are creating a colony and doing assasin stuff as something extra. So building a village makes sense and does not feel pushed.
The thing about Davenport Homestead is that it makes me wanna move there for real.
Nice video bro
Love that one of the most underrated games (being ac 3) got some love. One of my favorite ac games it’s in the top 5 for sure.
Most definitely not underrated
I guess I'm biased because I prefer Ezio's story over the other assassins. And Villa Auditore is to me the best because it feels closer to the family. Being also Mario's state and all that. And there is the fact that you could decorate it by buying the art in the game. That was a very nice touch.
Maybe i'm just a sucker for steam engines but i loved Syndicate's train hideout and how it goes through the entire map
My list
1. Davenport Homestead AC3 (Ship+Comfort+View+Community)
2. Great Inagua AC4 (Ship+ View+ Comfort)
3. Train from AC Syndicate (Moving HQ)
4. Fort Arsenal AC Rogue (Ship+ Average View+ Comfort)
5. Masyaf
I like your channel keep up the work you do.
I really missed the AC mechanics where you can train your recruits to become full-fledged Master Assassins, anyway my number 1 HO is also the DAVENPORT. it just feels like home when you return from the main cities missions.
You should do a video ranking all the dlc’s
I've played like 40% of them. I've been lacking I know 😔
Yo love the vids man ❤❤ keel it up
I’d honestly put Black Flag’s near the bottom.
