I think that I am really going to love watching this project! In the first video on this B50 Digger, I joked that Adrian being Adrian, will have it fully restored by the time he has finished. Well, in the strictest sense of 'full-restoration', Adrian may not go that far, but I am seriously confident and with all joking aside, that it will be a very capable and safe machine by the time Adrian has finished with it. I really like Adrian's attention to detail and the way he keeps his machinery clean and tidy. Thus ensuring their longevity. I am really looking forward to the next episode on this digger.
If I have to use any tape outside I use self amalgamating tape that is designed for aerial and satellite cables, it is silicone, waterproof, electrically insulated, only sticks to itself and UV resistant. Worth keeping a roll in the spares box!
Absolutely love your videos of you working on machinery. The way you show everything and explain everything and don’t jump to things being finished is great, especially for myself who wouldn’t know any parts of tractors. You’ve got me wanting to restore an old tractor now. Keep up the great work Adrian love your videos.
I always love seeing these old machines getting the love they deserve after all these years of hard work. Very nice camera work and explaining as well! Keep up the good work
I love watching you working on and restoring this old Massey and makes me want to go and get my tools out. As a retired truck and machinery mechanic who grew up on a farm in my early years many moons ago I think the older machines are so much easier to work on and were definitely better built with decent steel and simple electrics and hardly a piece of plastic anywhere. Keep up the great work and you should be proud of your brilliant channel.
Thanks Chris, yes older stuff is definitely easier to work on. If you like this sort of stuff then check out Diesel Creek and Andrew Camarata as well 👍
@@IFarmWeFarm Thank you for the reply I'm subscribed to quite a few repair and restore channels including Diesel Creek. Another one of my personal favourites is Cutting Edge Engineering based in Australia but I really like your channel and Lord Muck because of the farm connection 😀👍
Had one in 1974 and trade it in for another one in 77,had to put a new pivot post on it,dad had to drive up to the factory to pick it up because they forgot to send it on complete nightmare, good luck with yours
Love to see the very experience-based problem solving and the use of skills and knowledge developed over the years of just working with stuff! Welding? No problem! Electrical? No problem! Engineering? No problem! Great to watch the varied content and learn so much from you.
Adrian that's made a massive difference already, looking forward to watching the rest of the restoration, I know you'll do a tidy job on it and it will be back to working condition in no time. Thanks for the videos 👌👍
I have a old Jcb 3cx in the back of the barn don't use it much but every now and then it saves the day 😄 hope you have similar relationship with the Massey in the future Adrian
Hi there , you’ll be pleased to learn I just bought a 50B and it should arrive on next Tuesday. I’ll keep, you posted it’s got a 4 in one front bucket and a ditching rear and a footing bucket also. Really looking forward to getting her home. Then the oils and filters will be getting changed )) will probably use a flushing detergent before changing the oil after seeing what trouble you had. 👍
You’re doing a great job Adrian that machine will do you well once you’ve finished with it, all these small jobs add up to a very tight useable machine. Keep doing what you let doing.
Really enjoyable video Adrian, I have no doubt by the time you are finished the massey will be a serious addition to the farm. I think the reason you couldn't open the rung nut is that you were actually tightening it.Both with the vise grips and when you welded the nut. I maybe wrong but it looked that way to me. Keep up the good work. 🖒
Did you remember to replace the nut holding the base plate for the seat. You are a brave man taking on a project like the digger. I cant wait to follow progress to see how it goes. Good luck.
Adrian, I do like the solder seal connectors, but definitely agree that in situations like this the good ole’ ways the best. Also, when I picked up my Dewalt cordless heat gun, it was a game changer for electrical work.
Great video, We had one of those on the farm brand new in the seventies. It was a superb machine, quiet, warm, easy to drive. However I did prefer the JCB corner to corner controls.
always have your oil can with you adrian , any bolts you put back ,drop of oil on the freds an who ever comes to take apart the bolts will always come of , ive been at it for more than 50 yrs an it works , regards from essex uk
Your new workshop is paying for it's self now Adrian it makes working on your projects a little more easier as it helps repairs move along. Your experience and know how is fun to watch and alows the viewer to see how it can be done. :)
Great stuff Adrain, good that the steering is ok as that's normally requires a fair bit of sorting. Looking forward to the next repairs and seeing it working. 👍
Adrian, you are definitely a “handyman!” Well done mate~ super work!! You make all of your repairs seem so easy …looking forward to the rest of this project!
Morning Adrian, what a fabulous project, really looking forward to this restoration project and looking at the bear bones I think you have the makings of a beautiful machine. thanks for sharing. look forward to these vids every Sunday.
One thing I like to use is a small circular wire brush in a cordless drill. I go round the threads of a bolt I need to remove, then a bit of penetrating spray it gives me every chance to undo it all the way out without it going tight half way out and snapping off. You are doing a grand job there! Jim in New Zealand.
@@IFarmWeFarm you have an enviable set of skill Adrian, a joy to watch so looking forward to seeing what you do with the 50B restoration and of course at some point hearing the📯🙂
Adrian, absolutely brilliant video, even mentioning about the fabric tape and the sotch joiners been not the best too use. Your teaching us something new ever time you put up a video like this one. I have a Jcb 3cx too old as it is , a bit of motivation you give me now to tidy it up too.!!! Brilliant tips and tricks to get the job done, great satisfaction when work on the digger is getting done
Nice to see an unloved digger being looked after again 😊, and your not the only one who powerwashed the inside of a cab my case a Duncan supercab on a John Deere !!!🤢 2030 oldest one at work 😵💫 I made sure my Titus jabs we're up to date going near any Deere's (three unfortunately for me !!). great video.🙂👍
Great project and totally absorbing, please Adrian put on a wee bit of eye protection when you are doing that intricate type of power hosing a couple of quid/euro for a pair of safety specs 👓
Looks like you have your work cut out with her, small tip before you weld a nut on drill a small hole right through the seized bold then weld your nut on guarantee she will turn, great challenge for you and you know how much you love a challenge, good luck to you and the family
Cant wait to see this restored and all fix. Keep it up sir! I always love to watch your vids. I wish i work on a farm like yours. Godbless more vids to come😊
We all get tired and warn out as we get older and like an old tractor, we can have parts and wiring updated. Re pressure washing the inside, you obviously haven't watched Captain Kleemans Chanel with his very old Ford 555 Back Hoe. 🤗👍 He's pressure washed every inch.
Good luck with your new project I am sure like every thing else you will bring it back to its former glory This whole project makes me eager for your next episode so that I can share in your sucess Thank you for sharing your life with us I know that it brightens my day
Wow it looks like it’s had a polish up. I know you’ve only just started it but I love it can’t wait to watch the progress keep it going Adrian your doing a great job thank you
Fantastic video as always, nice to see old equipment getting a new life instead of going to the scrap yard, I’m positive that it will still be running when a lot of this modern stuff is falling apart, cant beat a mechanical lever compared to an electric solenoid as a lever can always be fixed but if they stop making the correct type of solenoid you are knackered.
LoL at the "shorter than it was" line.. many of us will sympathise. Trouble is, enjoying these vids so much gets in the way of my own old gear projects! But great stuff, thanks for filming.
Really looking forward to watching this progress Adrian👌🏻👌🏻 Does the lights actually work now…you showed everything apart from them turning on😆 Another thing when you weld a nut on a snapped bolt allow it to completely cool then heat the metal around the snapped bolt ever so slightly without heating the bolt and use the Milwaukee impact obviously don’t hang out of the impact just small tap tap taps and I guarantee every bolt will come out time and time again😉 I’ve had manifold studs snap on me and they Have to come out otherwise it’s a head off job and that’s never good😄
Gotta agree with a few others. You looked to be tightening that bolt unless you turned the video around. And I don't think the US and Ireland do it differently. If you want a nice job in Florida I have a honey do list you could tackle. My knee is stopping me from doing them.
Adrian nice video Mate. Hard luck about Ireland’s defeat at the Rugby World Cup. The All Blacks owed your country one after the Irish defeated them in a three test series last year in NZ

Life affirming is all I can say about this video Adrian. Love your videos fixing old gear properly, makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside.
A good investment would be ab adapter hitch on front so you can use your loader attachments on front end
